Summary: Enjoyable and Inspiring to Read
Review: I enjoy the book, alot! I enjoyed how she shared her personal experiences, making it more real for me to relate and not so technical. I also found the book to very motivating and inspiring. There's a few words of advise the author gave that I always think about when I run. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is beginning to run or considering running.

Summary: Lifesaver
Review: I have always had such a hard time sticking with any one type of exercise. I have always wanted to be a runner, but could never find a way to keep with it. Finally, a book which has completely changed my way of thinking about running! I have had so much fun running since I started using this book and I'm still committed!

Summary: Really great
Review: I have to agree with the previous reviewers about this book. The tone is completely coversational, making it a fun and easy read, compared to so many other training manuals, which read like text books. This book isn't about "run 5 miles on Monday and Wednesday with you heart rate at 80% of VO2 Max" -- how can anyone get motivated with that??? This book is about how to make running enjoyable and workable for you. It's motivational and "do-able." It makes running not only possible, but fun. For that reason, although it is aimed at the beginning runner, it is perfect for any runner. I highly recommend it!

Summary: Great book - even for men
Review: I picked this book up at the bookstore even though I'm male, just because I wanted a book for beginning. This book is great! I just ignore the 'female' parts and go to the rest and it is so full of practical information - and so easy to use and to read. I wish all books on things like this were so good.

Summary: Enjoyable and Inspiring to Read
Review: I read this book and found it encouraging and positive and fairly well-written. The author uses lot of personal anecdotes and experiences to build confidence in the reader. However, I was disappointed that she did not address a few major issues for women runners, ie. pregnancy, childbirth, nursing, and scheduling running into a mom's workday. I don't know if she left these topics out because she didn't have first-hand experience or she didn't think they were relevant for women runners.

Summary: Actually Makes Running Doable!!!!
Review: This book is awesome! I actually had a chance to read a preview copy and decided, what the heck, why not try it? It made running so less intimidating to me...and what do you know, I'm running now! For the first time in my 34 years!!!! The book is great because it answered a lot of those niggly little questions I've always had but been too afraid (or ashamed) to ask, like those about pain, what to wear, and other questions too "feminine" for this review :-)!. The book gave me lot's of options for workout plans to fit my lifestyle and my goals, which also helped. But the thing that really made it for me was the writing style...totally conversational, non-threatening, easy and fun to read! I found myself laughing out loud a few times and was EASILY able to relate to stories and anecdotes. The quotes from the other women runners were very inspiritional, and there's a WEALTH of information in the back about suppliers, races, web sites...you name it! If you are someone like me who never thought they could run, give this book a read...you'll see it's not only possible, it's a lot of fun!

Summary: I ran for the first time in years!
Review: This book was recommended by a friend who I always ask about running, even though I don't do it. It was such an entertaining and inspiring read that I actually took my first (short!) run last weekend. Lots of books seem inspiring; this one really got me out there! It breaks running down into baby steps; makes it feel simple and accessible; and the tone is friendly and conversational, like talking to a girlfriend. You can't say that about many exercise books!
Read it and go!!
