Rating: Summary: Pretty poor Review: I have no idea where all these stars are coming from. Basically alot of stuff you already know. Nothing big at all and like half the book is dedicated to those swedish 3' diameter squish balls. If you are into those balls this may good for you, otherwise I don't recommend. nice sf surf shop plug though.

It has cardio, stretching, strengthing, balance, enruance and more. One thing I like was the flexibilty assessment, which tells you what areas you should work on.I wish there was a video

Rating: Summary: yaba daba do Review: I'm 16 years old,I skate, surf and snowboard . I don't do any other exercise. I hate gyms and the jock mentality. So what do i get for xmas from mommy dearest. SURF FLEX.At first i thought cool cover, then i open it up to discover exercises.BARF! Having nothing else to do one afternoon(no swell, raining) I pick up SURF FLEX and start to read. The first section is on yoga and flexibility, i go thru that real fast cause i don't need it. i can put my heels behind my head! then its like exercises we do in gym. that ok but whats cool is it tells you why and how these relate to surfing. but what really interested me was the swissball workout. Its done on a big inflated ball. Looks kinda funny. But I've seen these balls before, its where my fat P.E teacher sits and barks orders to us. So I ask him if i could use it to try surf flex during class.it was totally cool and it ain't easy! For someone like me who snowboard, skates and surf its like the best workout You need balance, flexibility and strength. And it totally fun, but be ready to SWEAT-A LOT! Be doing it now for about 3 weeks and i can tell how strong i'm getting and how it relating to the sports i love. It was a great surprise. I guess mother knows best.
Rating: Summary: Great Workout! Review: Surf Flex is the only workout that I have experienced that improved my strength, endurance and balance for surfing. I was doing it all wrong. Standard weight training was making me strong but was not translated into surfing strength. Isolation of muscles is not how we use our bodies in surfing. Surf Flex stimulates the muscles in patterns that simulate surfing.
Rating: Summary: For every age surfer Review: The complete reference for conditioning for surfers to date. From the conventional to cutting edge Swissball workouts. Two added and unexpected benefits in Surf Flex is that it is interactive. I was able to ask questions regarding the workouts from the author and he quickly reponded. In the web site I found what was the best workout I have ever experienced. The Surfer's(bsb)Workout, done entirely with bugees and swissball, totally great!
Rating: Summary: Pretty good, but no revelations Review: This book contains a good variety of information and exercises that emphasize overall flexibility, toning, and conditioning. Basically, if you are a meathead and have always thought that the way to improve your surfing was to just lift weights and bulk up, then this book will possibly change your surfing life. However, if you are a reasonably fit and flexible person who understands that surfing is much more than just a simple brute-strength test, then I don't know if this book will be much of a revelation. I have what I would consider to be a normal amount of non-surfing related yoga and fitness experience. As a beginning surfer, I *thought* Surf Flex might offer some insight into crucial skills. Therefore, I was a little bit disappointed in this book, which instead provides a basic introductory mix of flexibility, stretching, yoga and balance exercises. They are good exercises, and good observations, but I was already familiar with many of these. I suppose that it is good to have all of them in one book, so that you can easily work out a regular routine for yourself. The author's philosophy of fitness and flexibility is definitely sound, and is relevant to any sport and to overall health. For myself, I don't know if it was really worth $15. I see that it's on sale now for about $10.50; that seems to be a decent price.

Rating: Summary: YOUR SOURCE FOR SURF TRAINING Review: This book is by far the greatest source for surf training avaliable. Living on the beach or miles away, its exercises will put you in fit for all year long. Furthermore, it helped me out to avoid common surfing injuries, such as sore back. The cardio-workout section is the chapter that every surfer should know and do. Buy this book if your are looking for a complete guide for surf conditioning.
