Summary: This is a scary book.
Review: I couldn't help but notice that most of the positive reviews came from Tennessee folks. To non-resident fans who just want to gain insight into her coaching methods, this woman seems brutal and degrading to her players and obsessed with basketball to an unhealthy degree. With her success, it frightens me that coaches of younger girls will emulate her style and make life miserable for developing young talent. The book is certainly revealing, well written in a folksy way, but unsettling.

Summary: Type A personality in a woman's basketball program.
Review: I enjoyed this book because Pat is definetely old school when she comes to her coaching and managing. I think as America has become a rich country, hard driving individuals like Pat and her parents have become downgraded as more people opt for the human relations style management. Pat proves that the hard driven type management is still very effective in motivating people to their best. In this book, Pat describes both her personal and professional experiences and how that has changed her to the coach she is today. Nothing beats success, and Pat's championships prove her way can make results.
This book is a surprisely good read on leadership and managing. It is applicable to both sports and business. The personal and professional stories prove that Pat's way is still effective in today's world.

Summary: Pat Summitt should take Phil Jackson's place as head coach!!
Review: I felt like I could slam dunk a basketball after reading Coach Summitt's book & I'm only 5'0 tall! I really admire the confidence she has in herself and her team. When I grow up, I want to be like Pat Summitt.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Inspirational and humorous...I couldn't put it down!
Review: I haven't been captivated by a book in a long time. Curiousity about what drives Pat Summitt to the level of success that she has achieved made me purchase the book. Her down-to-earth style, humor, and love of her job and the students under her tutelage shine thru.

Summary: I admire this courageous Southern woman for stepping out.
Review: I say to the reader whom this book scared, get over it! I think it is quite awesome that a Southern woman can be this direct and courageous. When so many of us Southern women fight the everyday stigma of most everyone's idea of what we SHOULD be, I commend Pat Summitt for being herself. I was inspired, touched, and laughing my head off at the antics at which she would go to get her point across. We share the same work ethics and the fact that she put them down in writing made me more confident that what I am doing in my life is right. You GO Girl!!!!!!

Summary: Excitiong and down to earth
Review: It is wonderful that Pat's players graduate. That say's a lot about her program. The book, once I got started I could not put it down and it is now making the rounds of my frinds...Keep up the good work at UT.

Summary: A Master of Success--A Must Read!!!!
Review: Of course, I could not just read one of Pat Summitt's books, I had to read all three. Pat has a plain, matter-of-fact and in-your-face style that is refreshing. If you can not find the mountain of success to climb, Pat will bring the mountain to you. She forces you to look at her definite dozen and find the areas where you know you could most likely improve. And without fail, she will lay down the gauntlet challenging you. She makes you believe that success is within everyone's reach, if you would just work at it. I have made some adjustments myself, since I have started a part-time home based business. I have read a number of books on success. "Reach for the Summit" is by far the clearest, simplest and most inspiring that I have read. GREAT WORK PAT!

Summary: An Excellent Resource for Self-Improvement
Review: Pat Summit has written a very truthful and honest book about what it takes to be successful. I really hate self-improvement books, however I found this to be a great book. I would suggest it to both athletes, and managers in the public/private sector. I don't know too much about basketball, Coach Summit, or the University of Tennessee, but that didn't really matter. Coach Summit writes very simply, and uses many examples. At many points I found myself laughing at her stories.
