Rating: Summary: Covers the basics Review: You can't learn martial arts from a book, ever. I have actually met people who claim they have good level of understanding and expertise in martial arts from reading books like this and watching videos. They also claim they know wrestling from watching WWF but also thinks Apollo lunar landings were a hoax. And then go on ranting why should anyone learn martial arts when we all can carry guns and just shoot people? If you are one of those loonies, do yourself and all martial artists a favor and keep thinking you can become a martial arts master without ever stepping into a dojo. That way, we can keep out the loonies, child molesters, gun freaks, and asianphiles away from our well run dojo.
This book is meant to be supplement your Aikido practice from a certified Aikido instructor (must be 4th degree black belt or higher to open a Dojo). It covers mostly basic techniques which, unfortunately, doesn't work in real situations unless you practice it 1,000,000 times. Nonetheless, it is a worthwhile reference from one of the greatest Aikidoka (Gozo Shioda) of all time.
