Rating: Summary: If you seek greater awareness, This Book Will Help You! Review: * After "growing" spiritually myself since I first read Parting Notes, I am updating my review. At first, this book SEEMS like mainly a series of communications about what these people have experienced when they died and in the afterlife. Told via a very refined deep trance medium and channel, but seemingly just about life after death. It is that, and it is easy to read because each communication is only a few pages. BUT, after reading these letters many times over the past year, I have come to realize that they contain much more than just the obvious comfort that comes with understanding that live after death is real. Physical life is very related to non-physical life... and visa versa. It is the lessons that these individuals have learned in physical life....and after... and shared here... that have had a profoundly comforting and empowering effect on my life. Loss of the fear is just the beginning. Getting how it all works on both sides of the veil is really where this book has legs. It has more meaning for me as my life here unfolds. I find myself picking it up often and just turning to a "random" page. I always seem to find more meaning each time. Highly recommended if you are seeking more. -Robert (a somewhat successful business executive mostly but also dabble in the arts.)
Rating: Summary: I dont think so Review: I find this book very puzzling. I wanted to believe it. But I'm having a lot of trouble. It has so little in common with any of the other sources I've seen on this subject, and so many of the "letters from the other side" are so similar to each other. I believe that the author wrote them herself, or that they came from a source within her, what you might call her subconscious. The books I consider to be the best are Michael Newton's Journey of Souls and Destiny of Souls. If they are true, then where does that leave this book? The two concepts of the afterlife are diametrically opposed to each other. The only way to fit some of these reports in with what others have said about the afterlife is that the spirits who wrote these letters are mostly ghosts who have not yet left earth and gone to their home. I haven't finished the book yet. I'm about two thirds done. I find these letters depressing. Some report that there is nothing there, no Heaven, no people, and that they create their own Heaven with their thoughts. What a lonely thought that is. Do you mean to say that after we die we go to a place where we are all alone with our thoughts? How boring. What a lot of nothing that would be. Some of the letters disagree, and say that there are other people present. So there is no unified concept here. Some of the writers have the exact same writing style as each other. The reviews on this site are uniformly enthusiastic and disagree completely with my own reactions. I don't mean to be argumentative or to rain on someone's parade, but I'm just being honest here. I don't think this book is for real. The view of the afterlife in this book is not a good one. All we have is our own thoughts? Spare me.

Rating: Summary: WONDERFUL! UPLIFTING! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Review: I really liked this book. I've read a lot of books on the afterlife but this one has something that goes beyond the sugar coated messages from other mediums. Heaven, like life, is what you make it. Life is for learning and you take those lessons with you. The letters pretty much explain (or not) what the other side is like (at least the lower heavens) and what the soul is seeking (the source of our being). The fact that some letters were written like people in a hurry, with no time, taking care of their families etc, separates the young souls from the older ones. Most people cling to their earthly existance (even in death) and miss the whole point and thus have to keep coming back. Death is not to be feared but life should be lived to the fullest extent possible. The more we learn here, the closer we get to the source.

Rating: Summary: A MUST READ Review: I would recommend this book for anyone spirtual or not who is seeking answers to life after death questions. Very easy to read and filled with touching stories that anyone can relate too. April Crawford has extraordinary talents and should write more books based upon her experiences.
Rating: Summary: only buy as a last resort! Review: If you are in a small town, have no contact with anyone else, and tend to believe everything you read, you'll love this book. I, however, am angry. As with any bereaved person I read everything that comes along to try to understand loss and death,so I bought this book.I don't buy a single word of it, even though I believe in an afterlife and in ADC's,ghosts etc.. This is a compelation of dozens of letters 'written' by those who have passed away;my complaint is this:How is it that dozens of people from different eras, backgrounds, races, and ages all 'write' using the same wording, syntax and basic grammar?Vibration,essence,evolution,lessons....read those words I just typed and that is the core words in EVERY letter in this book. Now, people of all ages die,why no letters from children? People of all educational backgrounds die, why are there no simply worded letters that say "that hurt,I miss you, what now?"...they all are written in the language of a singular person who uses the same words over and over.I'd think if I just died, and I were to communicate with Miss Crawford I would beg her to write my family immediately, tell them that I'm okay, I'm sorry and I miss them.I would not say"It was curious that my essence did not dissipate in my transition, but rather through the evolution of my passing I was able to see the path of my lives, and look upon my death with strange detachment".Give me a break. I would beat down the door of every psychic until I could find one who would contact my loved ones ASAP. Save your money. I recommend books like "Hello from Heaven", "love Beyond Life" etc...I've passed several of my other books on as gifts to grieving friends and family. This book is at best, bad fiction. At its worst,it's emotional fraud. I write this for the memory of my fiancee Daniel, my new guys wife, Diane, and all who have been swindled trying for one last goodbye.
Rating: Summary: Parting Notes: A Connection With the Afterlife Review: If you have ever wondered about the afterlife, this book is for you! I have read many books on psychics and mediums which give their interpretation of the afterlife. This book contains letters of personal accounts of individuals who have already passed on. These letters are communicated through the author, April Crawford, and are left unaltered. The letters are endearing and insightful, giving a glance of what it is like to move from what is familiar to us to the unknown. It is comforting to know that loved ones who have passed on have had the same or similiar experiences in their passing. The letters are uplifting and I look forward to reading them over and over!
Rating: Summary: Phenomenal Book re the Afterlife Review: My initial response after receiving the book was: I received the book Saturday and could hardly put it down once I started reading it (which was almost immediately). In fact had it not been for commitments and numerous errands, etc. one does on the weekends, I probably would not have put it down at all. I cannot begin to convey to anyone reading this post how phenomenal the book is; I would say to anyone reading this post (who would obviously hopefully have an open mind to the "unseen") that if they never read anything else in their life, they should read this book. For anyone who has wondered what a loved one may have experienced at the time of (and directly following) his or her transition, this reading is an absolute MUST and I feel would give one an immense amount of peace. The fact that these are actual first-hand accounts from people who have passed over makes it very different from the vast amount of other writings regarding this subject matter. My thanks to April for sharing her gift." Additional Response: I have now started to re-read the book and find it even more meaningful now in that I can relate to things better and in a more personal way the second time around so to speak. Having lost my husband approximately two years ago and struggled through a very difficult transition period myself before reaching a phase of acceptance, this book has meant a lot to me in that I sincerely feel those that have gone on are really around us, just in another form. I highly recommend this book without reservation.
Rating: Summary: Just blaugh Review: Parting Notes is an OK book, but so many people just focus on their own lessons they learned, which makes for an interesting story, but I am always looking for more - how does this apply to me? Do I have to have die or have an NDE myself? I liked Tiffany Snow's book better, just one chapter about her great NDE, but alot about connection to the other side, and how anyone can open up, if they learn how. I'm not saying Parting Notes is a bad book, really, but I guess I was just expecting more. Some stories in Notes were really gray - no "life" in them. Just blaugh.
