Rating: Summary: A master book by a feng shui syang shang. Review: For those who have had the priviledge of learning the discipline of Feng Shui under R.D.Chin, his newly published book will leave a lasting imprint of his extraordinary personality. As you progress through the book, you feel as though you are part this exciting field trip, avidly processing information and taking mental notes. R.D.Chin's strong, yet subdued presence, will guide and convince -without imposition- always respectful and considerate. His extraordinary personality, perfectly balanced and harmonious, is what defines him as a true feng shui "syang shang" (gentleman).
Rating: Summary: Finally, a book that concentrates on apartments! Review: Having recently purchased my apartment, I was at a standstill with my space. After reading this book, I became determined to meet this man and get him in my home for a personal consultation. After 5 months, and my luck, I was able to get him into my home. He has turned my apartment from an asthetically difficult space into a very harmonious one. With Feng Shui you can just rearrange your present furniture to achieve this harmony. It's amazing how easy the use of Feng Shui is. This is a great book for anyone that has a small space or an apartment!
Rating: Summary: A great start Review: I found this book a great help. This is the first book I have read on this and found it to be very helpful with plenty of illustrations to help me understand. Plus I thought the section on consultations a great help to understand how to actually use Feng Shui not just follow rules but adapt them to the enviroment they are in. I found it so good I read it in a day and then started reorganizing my house the next. My husband actually noticed the diffrence and not just that the funiture was in diffrent places. It has greatly encourage me to continue to study and use Feng Shui in my life. Thank you.

Rating: Summary: excellent photographs and case studies by an architect Review: This book, written by a practicing architect, is the best case-study Feng Shui book I've seen. It provides excellent photographs and gives designer-friendly explanations of how feng shui can be used in today's homes.
Rating: Summary: Great book, but not for feng shui beginners Review: This is a beautifully written and photographed book, but it is not a primer for feng shui novices. I have studied feng shui for many years and got some good information from this, but it really doesn't address the basics that someone just learning would need (for that, try "Move Your Stuff, Change Your Life" by Karen Rauch Carter - superb book!).
The homes in "Feng Shui Revealed" are gorgeous and beautifully decorated, not exactly "How to improve your suburban tract house". For anyone who loves architecture, design, and has a good foundation in the fundamentals of feng shui, this book is a delight.
Rating: Summary: I Need another copy! Review: This is a wonderful book! What I liked best were the tell-tale pictures, and also the simple way the author explains feng shui principles and solutions to problem areas. There's something for everyone in this book. Now I need another copy (I gave mind to my girlfriend when she moved) and wouldn't you know it, they're out of print... I can't believe it! Let's keep out fingers crossed for re-prints of this fine book. Thank you R.D. Chin!
Rating: Summary: Excellent source Review: This is also an excellent source for Feng Shui. It does have plenty of beautiful photos but they seem to be mostly of city apartments and lofts and a few stand alone homes and country homes. For the most part they all contain elements that would be applicable in a smaller environment on a much smaller budget.
There is a good section on "cures". This book also contains the process of the blessing ceremony. It is simple and includes some beautiful pictures. I always felt that blessing a home is very important and that attention placed on specific areas and what you want to achieve is somewhat useless unless the home is also blessed.
There is a saying in Thai Massage that everything that is to be achieved will happen during the puja (blessing) - everything else is just busy work to allow the mind to think that it's in control. To some extent, I find the same thing true in Feng Shui.
This also seems to be based on the Black Hat system. I have always been attracted to that particular system. It seems a little less mechanical that some of the other ones. To me, the essence of Feng Shui is not really about moving furniture around so that you'll effect certain responses. To me, Feng Shui, helps you focus on areas of your life and reflect on them and what you want from them. To arrange the house so that when you walk in you want to take a deep breath and relax and feel the day fall away is the essence of it.
