Summary: Why this Book... and what you can do about it ?
Review: If the author thought he could... this book with an offbeat title - he sure found one ready taker in me.
From the first page to the page when I finally put the book down in disgust - My life... more than at any time in the past.
I tend to like self-help books and have read quite a few of them in the past but this one proved to be extremely repulsive.
The author is hardly coherent/consistent in what he wants to say.
I find nothing more disgusting than an author fabricating stories about his life to prove a point. And sure enough this book is one dial-a-story self-help book... all of which seems to have taken place in the author's life. The author probably felt that his target readers were ofcourse "morons" whose life... to the point that they will believe anything.
At one place in the book it got really funny. The author recommended that one should go by one's intuition. And to prove this he relates an incident. He has an appointment with a friend early morning in some other city. He had to take an early morning flight to make it in time. But he had an intuition that he could delay his departure till later in the day. And voila - his friend too was late for the appointment so everything worked out fine. QED : FOLLOW YOUR HUNCH.

Guess what....the author may be right... if I had followed my hunch, I would not have bought this book and as a result would have saved 14 bucks.

CONCLUSION : If your life..., here is what you can do for starters :

DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK.

Summary: A truly thought provoking little ditty
Review: In the sea of self-help sludge, only a few worthwile pieces rise to the top. Highly recommended!!!!

Summary: Why your life sucks by Alan Cohen
Review: It is one of the best books I have read of Alan Cohen. In a very simple manner, it explains step by step, how to live our life 100% in each and every moment.

I recommend this book for all the people who truly wants to change their lives and remember who they truly are.

Summary: Be Gone, Oh Life That Suketh!
Review: Like the books that offer the reader the opportunity to get rich quick, everyone would like to think that we are just a short read away from easy street. An author of seventeen self help books, Mr. Cohen appears to have found the formula for the good life. Like the infomercials on T.V. there is a hell of a lot of money being made by people "selling us" the way to happiness and success. With all this in mind, I might add that I was rather skeptical of this book. So I must admit that I was surprised at the many helpful ideas the book offered.

So if you feel that your life, well, sucks. Read the book, just keep in mind that doing something about your life requires far more than reading a book. Perhaps the next title should be, "Beyond a Life That Sucks,"

Summary: Self-Help I Can Sink My Teeth Into
Review: No self-help book has impressed me like "Why Your Life Sucks..." since "How To Win Friends..." by Dale Carnegie.

Finally, an author tells it how it is without all the fluff. Cohen identified many things I've been doing wrong forever... but more than that I am using his advice to change my life. It's like magic... I've been applying his principles and they WORK! By using one simple idea of "Telling the Truth" I feel empowered and more like my self than ever...

Summary: Very helpful in a humorous way.
Review: Of course the title got my attention, but the content of this book is powerful. This book has meant more to me than any other self help book ever. I loved the outline, found it very friendly which helped me to really understand what the guy is saying. In a word, brilliant! I'm sending copies to all my clients, friends and associates, everyone should read this book.

Summary: Easy to read... very funny and light
Review: Saw this guy on WGN in Chicago, got the book immediately. The ten reasons we make our life suck applied to me. The thing I really like is that there are helpful ways to get back into the habits/practices that make me feel good about myself.

Summary: Loved it!
Review: Thank you, thank you, thank you. I loved this book. If I could have articulated my thoughts of my own life, this would be it. The thing is Mr. Cohen accurately identifies what we do that suck our energy, more importantly, he offers useful (and easy) suggestions to unsuck the elements that deplete us.

I've also checked out Cohen's other books. Amazing wisdom!

Summary: Outstanding
Review: Thanks Alan for the wonderful 'roadmap' to help find the way..A book for all ages as we face the crossroads and paths of life. Guidelines in this book explain how to use the tools within us to make decisions that are the best ones for 'me, myself and I'... decisions that leave behind the 'guilt' and 'bad feelings'... MHK

Summary: Remarkably Stupid and Shallow
Review: The book and its message is as shallow as a bird bath on a hot summer's day. It says it is self-help, but it is really no help at all.
