Summary: A welcome relief from the usual...
Review: One of the only books I've read on this subject that seems to come from a real, grounded, truthful place. There is no new-age dogma here, only insights that lead to a place that is already within our grasp, right now. A poetic, meaningful read that transcends any how-to technique, Catherine simply describes what we know to be true in our hearts, yet have never seen so plainly. I recommend this book to everyone....the clarity and truth of her words are very moving and profound, yet so simple.

Summary: Ending the Tyranny of the Mind
Review: PASSIONATE PRESENCE is about ending the tyranny of the mind. Living in the mind instead of in the moment causes one to miss the freshness and wonder of life. We may spend hours each day chewing over our past failures, or, conversely, projecting a rosy future for ourselves. The problem with this scenario is that past and future are concepts. They exist only in the mind. PASSIONATE PRESENCE is about getting out of the mind and into the moment, into the preciousness and completeness of the moment, which, after all, is all we have. The qualities that exude from these pages--gentleness, genuineness and delight--are contagious. Catherine Ingram speaks to us from direct experience, and her experience, we realize, if we are truly attentive, is our experience.

Summary: Wisdom and Heart
Review: Passionate Presence is one of those rare gems that is filled
with both great wisdom and Heart. Crystalline and so warm, this beautifully written book befriends the reader with both a sense of inspiring possibility and profound immediacy. Essentially, what is pointed to so wonderfully is this present moment and the still and silent awareness within that is the very source of love and peace and joy. Ms. Ingram has that profound gift of expressing this Great Mystery that is beyond words in a way that any reader may find truly awakening. This is a book of shining light.

Summary: I am so thankful!
Review: Reading Passionate Presence is like sitting with a great and kind teacher. Catherine Ingram takes the ancient ideas of what it means to be `enlightened' and opens it up. She makes ancient wisdom easy to understand. She cuts through the myths. She regales you with stories. She shows you that it is possible to live differently. Want an evening that could really change the way you see the world? Relax, settle back, get comfortable and read. Read and be reminded that is is possible to live with ease in an uneasy world. WHerever you are Catherine Ingram - I thank you!!!!

Summary: Essential Wisdom for an Awake Life in Sleepy Times
Review: Remember the song, "All you need is love"? Well, perhaps it's time to step it up a notch. All you need is Passionate Presence, which also happens to be the title of Catherine Ingram's new book. Frankly, I think the world would sleep a little easier if a copy of Passionate Presence found its way into the hotel and motel drawers across the country. In fifty sections of well-written prose, Ingram writes poetry (contradictory I know, but true - you'll see) about "experiencing the seven qualities of awakened awareness". What you get is surprisingly simple, yet penetrating wisdom and a bushel basket of anecdotes that remind you that you just might be a lot wiser and more compassionate than you've been telling yourself, if you'd just read between the lines. In short, pay attention to the "Sounds of Silence". ...

So maybe "All we need is love" after all. You'll get a dose from Passionate Presence. Read it. Live it. And pass it on.

Oh, and I'm thinking about trying one of those Dharma Dialogue Retreats. Sometimes a good retreat is the best way to advance and besides it would give me a chance to ask all my burning questions, like why don't my teenagers read this stuff?!

Summary: Clarity expressed brilliantly and inspires to be aware
Review: The book Passionate Presence pulls you into a feeling of lightness, freshness and familiarity of your own self. Ms. Ingram somehow puts the words together from her love and experience and knowing of the human condition to inspire and encourage. The more you read it seems like the fog is getting cleared from the window and the simple experience of life is felt again. I enjoyed reading her book, felt uplifted and keep it on the top shelf for frequent and quick shots of inspiration.
I recommend it and getting another copy makes a great give-away for a friend or family member.

Summary: Ethereal...
Review: This book is an absolute reader's delight! Ingram's writng is full of love and compassion and her messages are exceptionally enlightening. If you want some reading to simultaneously sooth your heart and lead you to a higher level of awareness, I highly recommend this book. If you are looking for more awareness and personal development, I'd recommend the absolutely fantastic book called "The Ever-Transcending Spirit" by Toru Sato. It is not as soothing to read but the content is better organized and easier to understand in this book. Two thumbs way up for both books!

Summary: Masterful and profound
Review: This book is not just a fascinating read; it is an experience. Catherine is a masterful wordsmith whose exquisitely chosen words point the reader back to a deeper understanding that goes beyond the words themselves. Her stories are mysteriously engaging. They compel the reader to question old views on life and open to a more expansive understanding. Woven into each delightfully crafted story are deep insights that awaken the reader to a profound wisdom. I will read this book again and again to continue to plumb its deeper meanings.
