Rating: Summary: Not what I expected Review: I was really looking forward to getting an interpretation to some of my dreams, mainly just for fun. Unfortunately, much of the book steers you towards what you should do in response to a dream rather than just interpreting where the dream may have come from. When I set out to interpret my first dream, I couldn't find most of the components of the dream, so I gave up. I.e. - the index of symbols is very limited. Also, the author avoids some of the more interesting dream contents, such as sex. Dreams about sex are described as your interest in "combining forces" with another person. I don't know about you, but when I dream about Cindy Crawford, it's not because I think she and I could start a business together. I still need a good dream interpretation book.
Rating: Summary: It changed my life Review: I was very impressed with this book. After having a very disturbing dream and finding no rest thereafter I searched all the dream books I could find and this was the only one that really made sense and helped me to understand the value and simplicity of dream symbols and that we are our own interpreters. It empowered me and literally changed my life.
Rating: Summary: Astonishingly insightful dream symbol interpretations. Review: I've been reading Bethards' dream book (in various editions) for years. Her interpretations ring true and are, at times, astonishing in their insight. Although this edition has been revised and expanded, it is not exhaustive. Other than that, I recommend it highly.
Rating: Summary: very important! Review: It impacted my life in some respects, and that's all that matters.

Rating: Summary: A "Positive" interpretation of your dreams. Review: Most dream books it seems are often very negative. This book, in my humble opinion, is truly positive and offers a great amount of insight into ones self, providing you are willing to look in. Ms. Bethards has taught me that all my dreams are about me and there are no scarry dreams only some messages from the other side need to be louder than others because we often refuse to look in the mirror and face life from the inside out. This book has truly been a tool for me.

Rating: Summary: Dare To Dream! Review: Paying attention to your dreams and interpreting the messages they send can change your life. Betty Bethards offers an inspirational, non-threatening look at how dreams can guide you to your true path. I admire her work so much that I have included this book on the suggested reading list of my own book titled, Rat Race Relaxer: Your Potential & The Maze of Life.
Rating: Summary: Personally Insightful Review: The Dream Book by Betty Bethards is the most empowering and uplifting dream interpretation book I have ever read. It has inspired me to be more faithful to my dream journal because I am encouraged by the symbols in my dreams. Dream symbol meanings in other books I have read have left me feeling discouraged and not wanting to face the "me" in my dreams. Bethard's book helps me to desire knowing more of "me." I gave my last copy to a good friend and am reordering another for myself and for another good friend.
Rating: Summary: MetaPhysically, this was my first book in the early '80's Review: The Dream Book by Betty Bethards was the first book that was suggested to me for learning more of my future. It was ironic that I kept forgetting the name. Now, I rate it as the top book to get curious people to start their own adventure. I am now ordering my second copy as my first is in many pieces, worn so from much use. I prefer this Dream Book to all others that I have ever seen. It is simple and to the point. It is my opinion that Spirit will communicate to you with symbols. If you stick to one simple book of definitions, Spirit will be able to give a clearer message.Thank You Ms Betty Bethards for being my first Guru. Peace Gene Shafer
Rating: Summary: Finally, a loving guide to my dreams. Review: There are many astounding things about this book. One astounding thing is that the symbols interpreted in the book are universal. I dream something, I look it up, the explanation in the book is true. Another astounding thing about this book is that as I grow and change, I find new meanings in my dreams and the book continues to explain them. The first 50+ pages are full of excellent insights as to "why we are here" and what life is all about. All other dream books I've read pale in comparison to Betty Bethards's book. I've given the book to several friends, because every time I lend it out I don't get it back.
