Summary: Wonderful
Review: This is a short, straight foreward book. It provides a wonderful message and is very pleasent to read. It simply reminds you how to live in this "present" day. It's a good read; but an even better gift.

Summary: Learning to live in the present, Sweet and Simple
Review: This is another of Spencer Johnson's simple but very appealing parables about life. Spencer also wrote the wonderful "Who Moved My Cheese." The Precious Present is a very inspiring book about how to have more happiness in your life by living in the present moment. It is told as a story told to a child by a wise old man. And only through the course of life does the child, as they grow older and become an adult, realize the simple wisdom that the wise old man shared at the beginning of the book.

By its very simplicity as a parable, it embodies the simplicity of its message, just to live in the present moment of now. If you live in either the past or the future, you will lose your real self. By living in the present you will be at the source of happiness and fulfillment. There are many simple phrases that stayed with me after reading the book. I loved the feeling and essence of this book."The precious present is not something that someone gives you. It is something that you give to yourself." I highly recommend this book to everyone. I like to read it over and over again. It calms me down and makes me feel how precious life is. It helps bring me into the now.

Another book that I highly recommend as a guide about how to live in the present is a book called "WORKING ON YOURSELF DOESN'T WORK: A Book about Instantaneous Transformation" by Ariel and Shya Kane. It is full of stories and parables, as well as principles and ideas, that have also allowed me to be more in the present, and to live my life to its fullest.

Review: This is on my all time favorite book list. I received this book for a graduation gift. Let me tell you this would make a great gift for all seasons. I hope you will enjoy it as much as I have. Spencer Johnson could not have written it any better.

Summary: My #1 favorite
Review: This is such a great book. The beauty is that it packs its wonderful, powerful message into so few words that you can read the whole thing in 15 minutes. I found this book in the library last fall and have since given about 12 copies to friends and family. In the time it's taken you to get on line and read these reviews, you could've read the real thing. Please do.
