Summary: the sound of one hand clapping
Review: a very good friend of mine once recommended that i read this book as i was groping for life's greatest mystery's during a profound time in my life. i did not find what i was looking for, but it made me comfortable with who i am and what i stand for. i'm very intense and particular. each time i read it, life slows down for a couple of seconds - giving me a chance to breathe easily. i gave this book as a gift to someone that i care about dearly even though i do not know her as well as i would like to. as she treads the first few days of college life, i hope that it will serve as a careful guide (like Jiminy Cricket, sp?) when the world seems bleak and times get tough... Summary: Great for Kids too
Review: After reading this to my son one Christmas he asked me to come in and read it to his third grade class...I took my time reading it to them and they loved it - and understood its meaning quite well for 9 year olds. A great story within a story - one for everyone of all ages to read.

Summary: Inspirational!
Review: Because I have had some misfortunes in my life, I used to dwell on my past a lot. This also made me plan for the future a lot because I was never happy with myself. This book though, has really helped me live in the present moment! I can really say that I am a happier person because I read this book. The other completely excellent book that has helped put this in even better perspective is "The Ever-Transcending Spirit" by Toru Sato. That one is also a fantastic book! Like Gandhi said, "Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever." These books are very true to the spirit of people like this!

Summary: This used to be a great book
Review: Don't get me wrong, the text is wonderful, but the cover and the typography have changed since I remembered it. Many years ago the book was given to me as a gift. I gave the book away to someone who needed it, so I recently bought it for myself. I was so disappointed in the look and feel of the entire book. That book meant everything to me, the ENTIRE book, but it has lost all its feel. Its not that classic black and silver cover. And the typography is all the same size and font. It's too boring and uninspiring. I am sorry for anyone who has never read the first editions, if you know where I can get one, PLEASE email me: WMcad81650@aol.com

Summary: Magnificent self revealing moral that reaches one's own self
Review: Every person experiences a moment in time when they loose the sight of happiness within their own lives and spend days, weeks, even years searching ahead to find their happiness. The book Precious Present takes the reader through the lives of two characters and develops your own search along with theirs to discover happiness. A book for anyone who forgets what happiness is really about. A must for anyone in recovery, therapy, or just want to kindle a lost feeling of discovery. I love it and you will to. Review: How can such a short book say so much? I remember my mother telling me when I was younger that we always say, "When I graduate, life will be better", "When I get married, life will be better", "When the kids grow up, life will be better". Spencer Johnson puts my mother's thoughts into words. Today IS better....and I am grateful for his words. I have owned this book for 10 years and continue to read it to remind me of the fact that I am definitely living the Precious Present. This one is a keeper!
