I read most of the chapters as I worked my way through my family and friends. My conclusion: Starsky and Cox are amazing. Where did they come from? Not only did they totally nail me within my sign's chapter (the motivation for the gift), but their writing made me laugh out loud. Every time I pick up the book, another detail grabs my attention. I highly recommend this book to every one brave enough to consider the dirtier sides of themselves, and their loved ones...
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: funny, insightful, hot...and dang interesting Review: I too am a Virgo woman (like "reader" from Atlanta, Georgia) and I was blown away by starsky and cox's chapter for Virgo. I started off reading Goodman about 13 years ago. Love Signs is a very fun astrology bible of sorts to me. Besides that, I know the dire importance of all the other planetary roles, as well as ascendant. Still, I do not believe it is a lost cause, nor, by any means, a waste of time to peruse, or even study!, a book like this which is wholly focused on sun signs. If one is worried about leaving the moon or ascendant influence out of the picture...well then read the chapter in sextrology for either of those signs! In the thirteen years that I have been studying "astro" I have been learning how to do charts and have looked over many astrology texts and profiles. After awhile, a lot of the texts and sign profiles begin to look the same, and not only that...they are boring. Also, "traditional" romance/relationship astrology, which often places earth signs with earth signs, air with air and so on....really strikes me as a crock of #ยค"%, after having had now some time to observe such matters at work in our world. Sextrology directly injects astrology for the public and the private with some NEW IMPRESSIONS! That readers are remarking on these impressions as on target (sometimes uncannily so)....only reveals that something has been lacking in publications for the last several years. Sextrology is definitely new school, but the fact that people are eating up the chapters on their sign and the book in general like hotcakes and cocoa in winter is a good sign really. Its as if there have been some seismic shifts in the field of astrology, and within astrologerw perceptions, and starsky and cox are the frontline reporters.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Uncanny Indeed Review: I was at the library, wandering about, when the red caught my eye. Then next the title. Okay, obviously something about sex. So I picked up the book. Flipping through the pages, I became enthralled, for the most part.
There was tons and tons on each sign / gender, and they didn't repeat themselves over and over again! I've been fond of astrology for a long time now, ever since my mother introduced me to it. This book was a great addition to my readings. I found (Much to my scare) that I'm a very typical Pisces woman. I know for some people that the book may not be always right, and for others, it may be their life story. No matter how you stand on your relationship to your sign, this is a great book to at least graze over if you're in need of a good read.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: This book is a gem Review: I'm a huge fan of Sextrology. The authors can really write, which is a big plus in the field of metaphysics, astrology in particular. Their style is fun and funny, but also challenging. This is a postmodern philosophy---definitely worth the [money].
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: "Writers and astrologers?? No, just writers!!! Review: In spite of the three 5-star, very favorable reviews here from someone in "Boston Massachusette" (two on March 20, one on March 24th)-could the reviewer be one of the authors themselves, or perhaps a confederate of theirs?-this slickly produced and entertainingly written book is NOT, repeat NOT, astrology. If you foolishly believe that compatibility between 2 individuals can be determined by an examination of their Sun Signs, ignoring the (very) many more significant, but less obvious astrological factors (e.g. planetary midpoints on the Sun/Moon and Venus/Mars axes, planets and points in or ruling the 1st, 5th and 7th houses of each chart, the first meeting chart, the composite or relationship chart, etc.), then dig in and lap it all up! The worst thing is that the authors have the nerve to refer to themselves as "writers and astrologers," when in fact they are writers plain and simple. Anyone can get a good general grasp of the 12 Signs without very much difficulty, and a good writer can fill volumes expanding on these themes with even less difficulty. But don't kid yourself: just having an entertaining way with words is not what astrology is about. IT"S ONLY ASTROLOGY WHEN AN ACTUAL ASTROLOGER IS INTERPRETING AN ACTUAL ASTROLOGICAL CHART (OR SERIES OF CHARTS) CALCULATED FOR A SPECIFIC MOMENT IN TIME AND A SPECIFIC PLACE, AND RELATING THE ASTROLOGICAL SYMBOLISM TO AN ACTUAL PERSON, EVENT, QUESTION OR SET OF CIRCUMSTANCES. Anything else, even if it uses astrological terminology and concepts as its basis, is not actually astrology but merely a simulation thereof, "pseudoastrology."
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Lots to Learn and Tons of Fun Review: Learned and encyclopedic meet playful and raunchy ... Sextrology is so much fun I quickly found myself reading ALL the signs and ALL the combos - not just those that had me "Taurus Man" pegged. No astro-sex guidance through inference and innuendo here - this book goes straight to the (pardon me) head. Would highly recommend to anyone aspiring to a richer (mental, physical, spiritual) sex life ... and anyone who loves a raucous romp through a mix of history, mythology, astrology and the urge to merge.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: funny and smart Review: My astrology reading before this has never progressed beyond the newspaper columns. I started reading Sextrology at a friend's house and couldn't put it down. Went out and bought my own copy because I know I will return to it again and again. I love the way it's written - smart, insightful, funny and highly entertaining. Starsky+Cox described me, my friends and the dynamics in our relationships as if they've been watching the whole time. Completely eerie! Highly recommended, and now I know what I'm giving my friends this year.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: A Sextra-ordinary book Review: Not only is this book funny and original it happens to be eerily accurate. A hilarious book to read with friends but also interesting enough to read from cover to cover.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: life altering Review: This book is a learning tool I will pass on to my children and my children's children! It is really fun and educational. I enjoyed reading all about myself...and figuring out the secrets for my loved ones. Buy this book with no fear, two thumbs up!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: ignore the bad reviews, here's why.. Review: this book is not your typical traditional astrology book filled w/ detail birthcharts, long complicated contradictory explanations of signs etc... blah blah THIS BOOK IS AIMING FOR ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSES! Give astrology some light for god's sake. I mean relax! I am studying astrology too, just like many of us out there, and this book is absolutely brilliant in my opinion. It takes astrology to a whole new different level, and this revolutionary step was made by two very talented writers. This book is, you guess it, all about sex and relationships. The matchup is just a small part, like a bonus to add in. The main reason why people enjoyed this book is because the huge amount of work put into each zodiac signs, but still managed to keep the reading intrigued throughout the pages. Even if it's not a "real" astrology book, it will bring you many hours of pleasurable reading.
And who says it's invalid? I study astrology also, and this book contains as much information about a zodiac sign as every other typical book you see on the shelf. The one thing that made this book stand out is it intrigues us by the one subject we want to hear about the most! Aren't you interested in how you behave like in a relationship, female or male, gay or straight (they even included this, amazing). The writing style flows smoothly throughout 500 pages.
So go buy the book, or read about your sign and see what this book is all about. I agree one thing w/ negative reviewers, it does not have deep infos like birthchart and stuff. But thats not what this book is about. It's entertaining, it's unique, it's new, it's relating to anyone on any level. Relax, and let the other typical astrology books do their job. This book is great. Believe me.
