Summary: A brutally honest and inspiring book!
Review: If you are ready and willing to hear all the things you already know, but don't want to hear, then read this book! She tells of "woundology" and how people become enslaved in the mindset of being the victom. She gives many examples of people who made it out, and those who didn't and won't and why. Being born with a disability I related to everything in this book. If you have ever faced any physical, mental, or emotional trial in your life and have felt hopeless or bitter at times, read this book. Some things she writes might be offensive to some, but its all true.... this book has the potential to change your life, no doubt!

Summary: Worthwhile, inspirational reading!
Review: After reading only a little more than half this book, I have already seen changes in my life. This is a must-read for anyone seeking to participate in repairing one's mind, body and spirit as a whole. While many of her concepts may seem a little unorthodox, she is right on target! Her down to earth advice on forgiveness and releasing the ill thoughts we have toward others will inspire you to look at your relationships in a totally different light. Her ideas on how we wear our past wounds like badges and how we can become a victim of our past, instead of getting on with our lives and realizing that we are far more than our wounds, more than our past failings, is truly inspirational. Not necessarily a religious book, she speaks of spirituality and incorporates the best of all religions. Since reading this book, I have turned to a daily practice of calming myself before sleep by listening to soft music, regulating my breathing and thinking about absolutely--nothing. I have experienced restful sleep, a more optimistic outlook during the workday, an increase in energy and have said silent prayers for strangers. I can't say enough about how positively this book has effected my life.

Summary: An insightful account of how our mind can synergize healing
Review: As a registered nurse I have always been fascinated with healing and why some people are able to surmount incredible odds to revcover from life threatening illness. Carolyn uses her knowledge as a medical intuitive to direct us to break out of condiioined thoughts/behaviors and examine how they interplay with somatic illness.

Summary: Medicine Doesn't Always Taste Good
Review: At first I was surprised by the amount of vitriol that this book elicited from some readers. Then I realized, of course - this information is going to be received as a breath of fresh air for those who are really willing to change themselves for the better, and with great angst by others.

That is exactly what this book is all about!

Caroline suggests we look carefully at our words and behavior and note the way we bond over our wounds. We speak "woundology". Wounds give us power over other people and a way to manipulate society. Healing is a very unpopular notion in this world.

Of course this can be regarded as "mean-spirited", but how in the world can we progress without facing the truth once in a while? There is absolutely nothing new in this material - it is just been presented in the context of modern thought - but if one reads any sacred text carefully the echoes of these ideas will be evident.

Caroline Myss is iconoclastic and funny, but she gets the point across. I recommend some of her audio tapes to really hear her in her element - with a live audience. Sure she "talks a lot" and especially as a man this sometimes drives me up the wall. But I think her message is one of gently attempting to point out our foibles for our own good.

Summary: Power sources: spiritual, emotional, physical, etc.
Review: Be sure to read the introduction! Myss parallels the symbolism of the sacraments of the Christian church, the Tree of Life of the Kabbalistic tradition and the Hindu chakras. The Tribal, Individual and Symbolic ages are explained. The archetypes, made widely known to us by Jung, are uplifted as a way to see the events of our lives in symbolic terms. The 3-page Epilogue "Snow White and the Seven Chakras" might be read first as another introduction to the scope of the messages of this book, then re-read as a review. Many personal stores are recounted, including Myss' own healing experience, as examples of the principles cited. This book is uplifting and informative. It ties together things we have read in many other books into a helpful whole.

Summary: Interesting Ideas in Healing
Review: Caroline Myss gives some interesting ideas in helping a person to heal. I don't agree with everything she says, but I still learned alot from her book.
I think if you are going to read her theory of healing, it is also good to read other people ideas as well. And then use what works for you.
I think there are alot of benefits to Myss' beliefs and ideas. And this is a good book for anyone interested in healing.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Excellent personal eye-opener. Everyone should read!
Review: Carolyn's insight as to why we as individuals let the pressures and problems we encounter affect both our physical and emotional well-being, is a unique, eye-opening experience. Each person is the product of his or her past experience, but we have the choice not to dwell on that past and let it rule our present lives. Instead, we have the power to overcome the "ills" which we have experienced and put them behind us. Only then can we begin to heal our spirits and bodies, and make the most of our futures.

Summary: A must read if you want to heal
Review: I agree with the author about healthy physical regimen is good but it has it's limits. The stories shows how to deal with illness and to heal with spirituality.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: This is a great book for healers
Review: I am a Chi Gung master and a Shaman with over 30 years experience in esoteric healing and energy work and I spend most of my time working with and healing plants, animals, and people around the clock and as an intuitive healer myself, I recognize Caroline's skill and methods as very beneficial for any healer. I highly recommend this book to anybody who wants to gain a deeper insight into who they are and how the healing process can work.
