Summary: Intriguing, eye-opening, lead me to search- out Reiki
Review: I think that I was somehow lead to this book. I was only mildly interested in the subject of Reiki, specifically, but had always been looking for a path. Once I browsed Diane's book, I had to have it. I feel that this book has lead me towards a great path, with both clarity and openness. I only wish that Diane had provided us with names of Reiki Masters,or Reiki schools, from whom we could attain further instruction and attunements.

Summary: enlightening
Review: Diane Stein is very humble and logical in her Reiki teachings. I was a little bored with the history. Once I got into the meat of the book, it had my attention like a great mystery novel. I had no problem reading and re-reading the book. Stein is a confident and well versed teacher. You have to give some faith in believing this system works. Stein gives great parameters on what works and who Reiki is good for. May be of great interest to people in the energy martial arts.

Summary: The book was very woman orienated.
Review: The book was from a clear woman"s view. This should have been stated befor the sail. The content was good but the slant was not open to all.

Summary: It wasted my time.
Review: I found the book to be weak and useless in assisting in any way with the application of Reiki (I am a Reiki Master). Diane Stein seems to be a sexist. Who really cares? What I resent most is the waste of time that is irretreivable.

Summary: An excellent resource for anyone interested in Reiki
Review: Diane Stein's wonderful book, Essential Reiki, demystifies how Reiki works and what you can do with it. It is a book for the millenium when we recognise that the world needs as many healers as possible and that Reiki is the vehicle to use. Diane uses feminine friendly language and female inclusive examples which is refreshing. She has included much practical material but with a metaphysical base to bring people in touch with the spiritual side of Reiki. If you are open-minded and want to be self-motivated in your quest to understand more about Reiki then this is the book for you.

Summary: A thorough and uptodate overview of REIKI, for today's needs
Review: As a Reiki Master and Shamanic Teacher, I find Diane Stein's Essential Reiki a practical and user freindly reference tool for the novice or the initiate just looking to sharpen up HER/HIS skills. The symbols and hand placements are presented in an easy to understand format. Essential Reiki is my text of choice when giving instruction to my students, in either group or individual classes. I am available for RIEKI levels, I, II & III(Master). I may be reached at the e-mail given above.

Summary: A great resource for current/potential Reiki practitioners.
Review: Essential Reiki rarely gets a neutral response. One Reiki master I know called it "spiritual pornography." Another called it her Bible. I believe it is an incredibly rich and important book for current or would-be Reiki practitioners. I have found important information that helped me through the six turbulent months following my second degree. I got an honest understanding of the issues that sometimes divide the Reiki community. I learned an alternate way to draw one of my symbols for more effective results. This is a book I highly recommend, but with one important caveat -- some potential clients, friends or family of Reiki practitioners might find it too far out there. To present Reiki to a more mainstream audience, I would recommend Reiki Energy Medicine.

Summary: Powerful, informative, detailed & life fulfilling.
Review: I had never heard of Reiki and had no knowledge about it's healing power. Spirit urged me to buy it. After reading it, I know that this is something I would like more information. I work at VCU hospital. I feel this healing can do wonders at VCU. I do wish she had listed teacher's in different areas particularly Richmond, VA.

Summary: the best teaching guide for hands on healing explained easy
Review: Diane Stein is one of the best teachers in her field. I have taught many students with this Reiki book. I love Steins openness with the symbols, NO other book does this quite like she does! I was taught by one of the best Reiki Masters of today and hold a 3rd degree. If you want the hidden secrets of ancient time to heal, this is the book in my opinion.

Summary: The Essence of Reiki!
Review: An outstanding handbook, that really in detail describes the history and origin of Reiki, all three degrees and initiations, the traditional Reiki-symbols, some new symbols that have surfaced lately and how to draw and use them all. This book contains everything you want and need to know from a guidebook. It is very thorough and profound in both lyrics and pictures. A true favourite!
