Summary: Interested in understanding your life?
Review: Bypass this one and buy "The nature of personal reality" by Jane Roberts, "A new beginning" by Esther Hicks or "The power of Now" by Eckhart Tolle. These books will give you an absolutely powerful understand of the way you create your reality.

I did read Dianetics and many other scientology books and was actually a scientologist for a few years. But for me it was at best a stepping stone on the way to true practical knowledge of myself and the way the life really works. The workings of the mind are much simpler than Dianetics would lead you to believe. With Dianetics you can see some immediate relief of some problems, but you will soon begin to chase your tail with these over complicated procedures. Without the proper outlook on the creation of your reality, you can become sidetracked for years by becoming fixated on the stones on the path to your goals.

Dianetics tries to explain all of the ills that society suffers, but never explains how you go about creating the reality of your dreams. You cannot solve problems by looking endlessly at the problems. At some point you have stop creating the problems and be the happy creative person that we all inherently are. With this and all scientology books you will be forever lost in your problems and they supposedly will be the only ones that can help you out.

Summary: An excellent, scientific work on the REAL anatomy of the Min
Review: This book is hands down the most remarkable work on the subject of the mind ever written. I first read Dianetics over 30 years ago, while a student at the Unversity of Wisconsin, Madison. I'd taken several psych courses and was prepared for the run of the mill unworkable hypnotic claptrap put out by Skinner, Jung and the like. But within the first chapter I knew that Hubbard was taking a new view of the mind and how it worked - and I found it facinating. Whereas any psychologist will tell you that you must learn to accept your own limitations - Hubbard says just the opposite - that you can not only overcome your barriers - you can reach greater heights of awareness and ability than you ever thought possible. And so I read this book cover and cover and discovered that ITS ALL TRUE. Read this book - and you will find yourself in it. I particularly enjoyed the chapters on how to audit with friends and family, at home over your own kitchen table. This is a book you can USE to help the people around you. It is an effective, scientific method which will take the reader on a one of a kind journey into the mind of Man. Throughout its pages the reader will discover how to free himself from his 'hangups' and increase his abilities through greater understanding of himself and Life. I can't recommend it enough!

Summary: This book is AMAZING. Nothing like it that I've ever seen
Review: I am a 14 year old who is a Scientologist. I was born into Scientology, and I have just recently read "Dianetics".

Being born into Scientology, one might think that a kid would be "brainwashed" into believing this stuff (this isn't true, by the way - Scientology is not like that - What is true for you, is true for you). But after studying this book as well as others, I have gotten my own views and opinions on the religion and I am able to make my own judgments on if this technology works or not.

Believe me, it works.

Nearly everything "Dianetics" has mentioned I have experienced in my life. It makes sense, its logical, and more importantly: it truly works.

Surely you have probably heard other people, who have experienced this technology for themselves also say it works. And maybe you have heard about the awful lies about Scientology - which are utterly untrue and are cast out only in efforts to take down the religion.

But the thing is, if you haven't experienced it for yourself, who are you to convey your judgements about it to other people?

That's the thing: You shouldn't talk about a religion if you haven't experienced it and have come up with your own conclusions.

You are on a pure chain of inexperienced opinions and false data when you talk bad of this religion - unless you have tried it yourself (and of course have drawn up your own conclusions).

I have been around Scientologists and people who are not Scientologists all my life. It is on my own judgement and experience when I say that the Standard Scientologist is intending and striving for planetary well-being. On the other hand, the person who is not a Scientologist, is sometimes but not all the time interested in the well-being of the planet and the human race.

This is the "Manual for the mind" - there is stuff that you can learn and wisdom you can gain and remarkable things to fathom in this book.

But make sure, when reading "Dianetics", that you look up every word that you do not fully understand or do not understand.

Many people read this book (which is a Scientific study, some big words are used) and think it is completely stupid and just garbage because they did not understand a lot of the medical and other big words used at times.

In the book, L. Ron Hubbard goes over this subject of looking up every word not understood or not fully understood in the dictionary which is important to read before diving into the book. It is very important to look these words up in the dictionary when you come across them.

Buy this book. Read it for yourself. Make your own judgments. Draw your own conclusions.

Review: His best book, only Battlefield Earth comes close.

Summary: A good book, but high prices for Scientology
Review: The book takes the reader into an amazing mind and soul trip. The descriptions are made well, though I personally have some comments here and there. This book is one of the basic books of Scientology and anyone who wants to know what is this myth called Scientology, I highly recommend this book for him. Scientology wants the people on earth to live in harmony, but still under one condition, which is that they can afford to pay this institute their extremely high prices (A paradox in itself!). Still the book is good!

Summary: The ultimate adventure.
Review: I first read this book, Dianetics, The Modern Science of Mental Health, while attending college. At the time I was doing physical rehabilitation of my knee after reconstructive surgery playing football. During this time, I would talk to current athletes receiving physical treatment and older athletes who were in various stages of physical impairment due to surgeries from sports injuries. I was asking questions to myself about why one athlete fully heals and another continuously injures themselves or in many cases, why fifteen years later they suffered various ailments like arthritis with no acceptable treatment beyond pain management using drugs. This escalated when I experienced additional knee problems and medically the only answer was more surgery. I accidentally found the Dianetics book on campus and spent my nights reading it. Here were answers which made sense. Here was a technology to alleviate the mental aspects of an injury, increase IQ, aleviate the pain of the loss of a loved one, reduce the need for drugs and even the effects of drugs. IF IT WORKED? Well, I found out it works. It has enabled me to help myself, but also help many others over the years.

This is a must reading for anyone who is interested in improving life, in helping oneself, family and mankind.

Summary: Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health
Review: More than 20 years ago when I was first learning to use the techniques of Dianetics, a friend told me he had a friend who had had a terrible loss several years earlier and asked if I could help her. She indeed had lost her daughter in a tragic incident. I could barely keep from crying myself as she told me her story, but, by using Dianetics on her, I saw her recover from this before my eyes. She would always love and miss her daughter but the trauma had lifted so much. She told me after that she thought that she would never feel happy again, but it seemed now that there was once again happiness for her. This was an incredible feeling for me too. It showed me how miraculous the results of Dianetics could be and that I could help someone using it. It was easy!

Summary: Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health
Review: Today more than ever this book which I read over 20 years ago and which I have applied to my life and to helping others in areas of their lives of which they needed answers, is still the most practical life saving book to date. If more people read this book and applied it, there would not be wars, nor madness and criminality. Written not too long after the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaka, this apropos excerpt serves as a reminder today: "A science of mind is a goal which has engrossed thousands of generations of man. Armies, dynasties and whold civilizations have perished for the lack of it. Rome went to dust for the want of it. China swims in blood for the need of it. And down in the arsenal is an atom bomb, its hopeful nose full-armed in ignorance of it." I hope more people read this book which I have been fortunate to read and apply, and help others help themselves to a better more civilized world.
