Summary: A refreshing approach to solving problems
Review: I read Dianetics in 1988 and enjoyed it very much. It was very different from other self-help books. Having just graduated from engineering school, I found the methodical and logical approach extremely refreshing compared to other self-help books I had read. Mr. Hubbard explains a technique that anybody can follow to help others get rid of problems in their lives. While others recommend popping pills to find happiness, you can get rid of what's bothering you just by getting together with a friend and using the technique that Mr. Hubbard explains in this book. Try it and see for yourself!

things that worry you.

Buy and read this book.

You will be happy you did.

Summary: Dianetics
Review: This book has really helped me out. I have used it to get my attention off past upsets, painful experiences, etc., in life and start looking into the future. I recommend this book to anyone that wants to find out about the mind and learn how to live life to its fullest.

Summary: This book changed my life
Review: 31 years ago, after a summer of teaching mountaineering, a friend gave me a copy of Dianetics. I picked it up and started to read it--I really knew nothing about it. I had recently had a near death experience in the Rockies and had several other issues that were weighing on me.

I read the first four chapters of the book and found answers to questions that had been hanging around in my mind: Why did I react in certain situations? How can I learn to really communicate? Can I find my real goal in life? I continued reading and found this book to be full of real data that made sense. Later when I had a chance to test this out for myself I found that what Hubbard wrote is true.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who has the courage to adventure into the "terra incognita" of the mind and come out the together end the better for it. Now that's real adventure!

Summary: The Book of the Mind
Review: This book was different than any others as it described and elaborated on the different parts of the mind unlike anything else I had read. To understand it I did not have to have studied psychology or have studied similar studies, but it details what my mind is, and why I do things in life based on my mind. And the best part is, the description of what the mind is opens the door to resolving problems I have!
Also, have a dictionary with you that you are comfortable with, becuase he uses quite a few big words!

Summary: The Human Mind explained in an understandable manner
Review: Have you ever wondered why people do the (weird) things they do? Have you ever wondered why you do some of the things you do? This book explains it all and suddenly life makes sense to me! I make sense to me!

After explaining how the mind works, the book goes into detail how you can address the part that is controlling you and making you do some of the harmful things you may be doing. Freeing yourself from this part of your mind (unconcious, reactive), allows you to be happier, you are sick less often, and you are free to be truly yourself and go after the goals in life you have always wanted to attain, but something has been holding you back before.

Right now the world seems unexplainable. Once I read this book, even though I may not like everything I see in this world, at least it is explainable. If you can't explain something, you can't change it. Understanding is the first step!

Summary: The proof is in the pudding
Review: When I first started reading this book in 1976, I simply couldn't put it down. As I devoured its contents, there were so many, "Oh, that's why such and such and so and so happens to me and to others around me." Anyone can benefit from the application of Dianetics. It's simple and it works. That's really what is important, isn't it? The reviews I have read on this site are either totally for or totally against Dianetics. No one can decide which is true for you but yourself.

Summary: "It Works!"
Review: Having read and become very well acquainted with Hubbard's Dianetics, and having been on both the receiving and giving ends as far as this therapy is concerned, I can honestly state that the mental phenomenon which the author describes do, in fact, appear just as he describes, and the therapy, when honestly and precisely followed per the book's instructions, works just as stated. This is truly a science in the fullest sense of the word, developed strictly along the accepted scientific method. I cannot over-stress the importance of this book, nor its relevance to today's troubled world.
