Summary: What Changed My Life
Review: Wow. After reading this book when I was really young - and applying the technology that L. Ron Hubbard has provided in Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health, my life has gone alot smoother and I have control over my environment, my emotions, and my daily routine. School is great because of his study technology, and things with my parents that I had trouble with before are now really not complicated and I can sort them out way better. Everyone I know who has read this book or applied the things they have learned in it are definitly better people and always say that Dianetics has helped them remarkably. Thank you to L. Ron Hubbard - he's a great man and a great writer. -L.M.

Summary: A Common Sense Handbook To The Human Mind
Review: When I read Dianetics I knew that I had struck gold. It was the first book that laid it out statight, that anyone could understand. It also had a therapy in that I could use to help myself and others. Most other books talked about finding a way where as Dianetics already had a technique that I could use.
There are now Videos, DVDs, E-books, Cassettes, Extension Courses, etc, all which are designed to help a person to apply Dianetics....

Summary: The most amazing thing about this book is...
Review: I have read Dianetics six times, so I feel I have the experience to write this review. Each time I have read it and applied the data in it, the book seems to reveal more and more to me. This is actually the most amazing thing about this book. The better you understand it, the better you understand many other things and, in turn, the better you understand the book the next time around. I have never experienced this phenomena with any other book and for that reason alone I have to give it a 5-star rating. The book motivates the reader and inspires hope that something can be done to improve conditions in one's life. However, unlike many other books, this one gives you the goods to DO something about it for real! Read it for yourself. I am interested to find out if this seems true to you also. Good luck!

Summary: Great book on the mind!
Review: The "bad reviews" on these pages are really off topic. They go off onto badmouthing Scientology and what they do there. Dianetics is not Scientology. Please read the first few pages the Amazon site displays on this book. Also check out the new DVD which might be a better introduction to Dianetics than some. Dianetics is the answer, if you give it a chance and read it. Do so, and live the adventure.

Summary: Actually improved IQ!!!
Review: I had heard that Dianetics could increase one's IQ -- but I actually saw it for myself! I actually scored IQ tests for a handful of people before they received Dianetics counseling. After just 12 1/2 hours of counseling, upon retesting (and we used 2 different tests, and altered them - some got test A to start, test B second, some got test B first, then test A), I found that it was really true! EVERY person who received the counseling had improved IQ. One fellow's IQ raised 24 points!!! He went from slightly above average to nearly genius level! These people were thinking faster and more clearly than before. That was very cool, but what really amazed me was the other differences I saw in the people who received the counseling. They were all happier. One woman in particular, I'll never forget... she had been in a bad car accident a few months earlier. She was a beautiful young woman, but with a badly scarred face. (She'd gone through the windshield of her car.) She never smiled. She looked like she was still in the accident - she was hardly there at all. Her friend said she was suicidal, and I could see that this was the case. It was like the accident was still happening for her, every single day, every moment. Life seemed to be viewed by her through the accident - it had colored her entire life. I saw her after just a few hours of counseling (less than 10). She was bright - happy - smiling. Beautiful!! It was the most amazing transformation I'd ever seen. She was no longer stuck in any incident - she was there, right there with her friends, in communication, and HAPPY!! That was it for me. It was then that I knew that Dianetics could help anyone overcome past trauma.

Summary: Worth the work to read it
Review: This book was written in 1950 or something, so the author uses a big vocabulary. I found myself reading the footnotes and using a dictionary a lot more than I'd like to. Sometimes I'd get lost and have to go back to figure out what I had missed. But the bottom line is that this book's a real eye opener. It explains why people have reactions that they don't mean to have, like saying something that they regret or doing something that doesn't fit the situation. And more importantly, it defines why people can feel unexplained unhappiness and how losses or traumas can affect you now. I had heard a lot of bad things about Dianetics but got the book out of curiosity. Turns out that the criticisms weren't founded on this book. Worth the work to read it.

Review: This book actually changed my life. I found this book from a tv commercial, and read it cover to cover in 3 days. It gave excellent information on how the mind works and an effective way to help people. I improved my life and others'. Quite an adventure for the price of a paperback book. I also reccomend the video How to Use Dianetics, which I purchased.
