Summary: Science my eye--the rambling thoughts of a self absorbed man
Review: This book, like most of Hubbard's writing, is an example of a man who wrote whatever came to his mind. He asserts much, proves nothing. Most people who like his books are hooked into Scientology -- and would be encouraged by that association to write positive reviews. If you can force yourself to read the whole book, more power to you. You must have no regard for syntax, clarity of thought or truth -- and more time on your hands than you know what to do with !

Summary: Science or "science"?
Review: Hubbard tells us he did all this "research" but he does not provide us with the methodology used, control group information, independent validation...

Instead of explaining a "modern science", this book provides an insight of the scientific methods used in the middle ages. "It is so because I say so".

Summary: Dianetics is something new
Review: I learned things about myself, and about how the mind works, that I'd never known before. And I understand now why people behave the way they do. This book was definitely worth reading!

Summary: The sort of distilled knowledge you will find nowhere else
Review: In this book, Hubbard insights are truly extraordinary. The ideas springing feverishly from his mind conjure up a vision of that great scientist, Dr. Irwin Corey. And though his presentation skills may not quite match Professor Corey's (and after all, whose could), his unique theories certainly rank him in the same category of thinker. Additionally, his theory of the perfectability of the human race (by reaching the state of Clear) brings to mind the teachings of the late Austrian, Herr Schicklgruber whose ideas about improving the species were equally as plausible. Mr Hubbard takes insights from Corey and Schicklgruber, mixes them with the output from the throne of his mind, and discharges all of it into the book called Dianetics. Read it, seperate the wheat from the chaff, and you will most certainly hunger for more.

Summary: Learn to Think for Yourself with this book -- Dianetics!
Review: I am often puzzled by the critics of this book. I read the bad reviews and have to ask myself if they read the same book or have some kind of vendetta or can't stand the idea of a person becoming truly happy. I have applied the techniques outlined in this book on others. I sped up injuries, I mended a man's major loss of his wife, I brought another to understand his life better. That's the scientific research. Apply the scientific method and you'll see major results that change people's lives for the better. That is a scientific fact. I've seen it and experienced it. I always see things for myself. I hope you do the same. Buy it, Use It! On Amazon.Com.....:)

Summary: the biggest most beautifull book in the whole world
Review: full of what? Full of beautifull language right crisp and straight from the tongue. Like an oyster in mother-of-pearl L. Ron Gubbard makes light work on an intricate subject. The evolution of man, and life on earth! All in one amazing hard to find and out of the way galaxy science-fiction pulp-paper waste-bin or trash-can near you.

Summary: This book Changed my life
Review: I read this book twice. I can see why some don't like it. It requires some type of education. I found the book to be an amazing look into the human mind. I understand how it works and why and I understand why some people leave poor reviews, they don't like being figured out.

Summary: Gobbly-gook
Review: L Ron Hubbard was a fiction writer and has no business writing and trying to promote a so called self help book. Dianetics is a very difficult read. I couldn't get very far. It is a long book and life is too short to read garbage. War and Peace is a long book, but it had substance which is seriously lacking in Dianetics.

Summary: This book started me on a great adventure
Review: I first read this book 10 years ago and it made so much sense that I started to apply it in my life. 10 years later, having achieved a healthier, sainer and happier life I decided to re-read it over the holidays. I'm just amazed at how things are working out just like it is explained in the book. A must to whoever believes in becoming a better person.

Summary: Take control of your life!
Review: I started to read Dianetics one Friday night and couldn't put it down until I was finished! Later I talked to my wife about it and she too had the same opinion after reading it. Our lives have improved just from the application of some of the basic Dianetics principles and it has helped us through some tough emotional times. I highly recommend reading this book and trying it out - it's the best way to start taking control of your life!
