Rating: Summary: Gift Book received; Shipping is terrible Review: This site is the worst for shipping expectation. 2nd day delivery was five days after email. My order "shipped" on the 23rd Saturday(expectation was 26th Tuesday) and arrived on Thursday. I will not be returning to this site.
Rating: Summary: Ridiculous and pathetic Review: This work sets a new low in the exploration of the nonsensical (and fallacious) "All religions teach the same thing" idea. It's empty headed blather, full of misrepresentation, error and confusion. I cannot speak to the Zen, Hindu and some other references, but the discussion of the Christian, Jewish and Moslem traditions are utterly without merit. If you're looking for a cheap emotional high typical of the so-called "new age" genre, this book is for you. If you want real insight and thoughtful, scholarly interpretation and comparison, look elsewhere. At best this book is a waste of time, at worst it's spiritual cyanide. Dyer got off to such a good start with "Erroneous Zones", but his material since then continues to plumb new depths of pseudo-spiritual tripe.
Rating: Summary: Magnificent Review: Three cheers to you, Wayne Dyer - a great book with many great messages! Your work continues to inspire and bring people together for a higher purpose.
Rating: Summary: Secrets of the ages Review: Wayne Dyer one of the masters of transformational wisdom reveals the Wisdom of the Ages from the greatest masters in history. This is a great work by Dr. Dyer and a must read for anyone interested in transformation.
Rating: Summary: Excellent selections of quotes from great minds Review: What Wayne Dyer does in this book is to bring together some of the wisest selections he's ever read by theme, and then offers his commentary and analysis on what was written. Selections come from great poets, philosophers, and religous texts. I'd like to xerox them off and put on walls for inspiration.
Rating: Summary: Wayne Dyer is my hero Review: Wisdom of the Ages is my favorite book of all time. I have read all books written by Dr. Dyer, but this book changed my life. I read the book as Wayne suggests; one essay each day. I looked forward to waking up and reading the next essay. When I reached the end and read an essay written from his own words, I laughed with tears. I understood was he was saying. I consider him as equal to all of the people in his book. I suggest everyone listen to Wayne Dyer's tapes and read his books. Many people believe in something godlike. I do to. Wayne Dyer is the most godlike spiritual being I have ever met. I now know that I am connected to the spiritual path. What an inspirational person!
Rating: Summary: This Book Left Me Baffled Review: WISDOM OF THE AGES left me baffled. Dyer's assertion that this came from "automatic writing" is a tad unbelievable. I am a Dyer Fan. Honestly, I enjoyed the earlier books such as YOU'LL SEE IT WHEN YOU BELIEVE IT better than the "new age" titles of the past several years; however I have gained from some of those as well. But this one? Those of you who remember Dyer claiming the "seashore" story and throwing the fish in as his own - like it happened to him - when, in fact, it is an ages old story, will have reason to question the "automatic writing." There are SOME good things in this book - no doubt. There is also no doubt though that Wayne Dyer has made a steady progression from self-help to motivational to new age to the occult.....automatic writing? Wayne Dyer is still worth reading, but much of it one must, if you listen to his latest claims, take a lot of it with a grain of salt. Better choices: The title I mentioned above or some of his great audio series ala HOW TO BE A NO LIMIT PERSON.
