Summary: The Petty Bronx Doctor
Review: A previous reviewer (Bronx Doctor) has used this site to bash a legendary surgeon. You cannot hold a professional candle to Dr. Hoppenfeld. Sir you are a poor excuse for a doctor and you bring shame to a noble profession. Why are you so immature?

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Recommended from resident to resident
Review: A wonderful book that presents a complex system in a very simplified format. I'm looking forward to a newer edition that would give further emphasis on peripheral nerve exam.

This book is highly recommended to all the residents in Orthopaedics and Neurosurgery.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: A great book with wonderful pictures
Review: As a neurology doctor, I found (and still find) this book helpful in the cartoon illustrations that detail everything from the nerve roots to plexus to individual nerves that innervate the various muscles.

I loved it when I was a resident in training for its very simple yet succinct graphical nature; as a picture is definitely worth more than a thousand words.

Those who enjoyed Ken Lindsay's Neurology and Neurosurgery Illustrated will certainly like this book and vice versa.

Summary: I was very dissapointed by Dr. Hoppenfeld's book
Review: Being a doctor myself, I couldnt help but be very dissapointed with Stanley Hoppenfelds's book. He is a poor doctor and anyone who is a patient of his is being robbed of REAL medical care.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A Great Reference
Review: I found this book to be very clear and helpful in dealing with neurology. There was a lot of great information in it. I'd have to disagree with the previous reviewer, and state that this book deserves a thumbs up!

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: INTERESTING
Review: I thought the book was interesting. It explained everything in detail. I was very dissapointed by the previous reviewers comments; a personal attack on Dr. Hoppenfield. I read this book because I was a patient of Dr. Hoppenfield. I must say that if it wasn't for this great Doctor and his knowledge, I would not be walking today.

Dr. Hoppenfield, you gave me my life back!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: osteopathy and neurology
Review: My first introduction to Dr. Hoppenfeld's writing was through his book, Physical Examination of the Spine and Extremities. I found it to be concise, well written and very informative as is this text. It is an excellent resource and since in osteopathy a major focus is on the skeletal system it is an excellent aid.
I can understand previous reviewers frustration with the 'bronx bomber'. To be honest, I don't think I would ever want to rely on any one who is unable to spell correctly. It doesn't inspire confidence. How did they ever get into medical school?

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Great overview
Review: This is a stellar book that gives any health care professional a handle on evaluating neurologic deficits
