Summary: Best Book on Dieting That I Have Ever Read
Review: And it really isn't about following a set diet as that is not her approach. It's more about knowing when enough food is enough and thinking of other things beside food.

I read the chapter headings first. They will give you a good idea of her wonderful sense of humor. I am this very minute burning the diet articles I've collected over the years as she suggests, but am doing it in the fireplace, which is already dirty, instead of the bathtub, which isn't.

Her stories of crash dieting and the harm she caused her body should be a warning to everyone to avoid any of those crazy diets that make the rounds.

A great book for sharing, but I'd be afraid to loan it to anyone. Think I might not get it back!

Summary: a woman's must have
Review: geneen roth does a fabulous job discussing our relationships between food and love, then giving you ways to change that relationship. it is NOT a diet book. it is a book to make you think.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Excellent Book - just one very small criticism
Review: Geneen Roth is right on target, AGAIN. If you've never read Ms. Roth's books, then this is a great introduction to her philosophy. If you're familiar with her work, then you'll quickly discover that this IS a moveable feast - the portable Roth.

My one criticism, and maybe Ms. Roth will correct this in future printings, is the Table of Contents. This book is supposed to be 'a take along' to be read in bits and pieces as time allows and mood suggests. But when you want to find a nugget, the Table of Contents is a hindrance, not a help. I'm just a reader, not a book editor but below is an excerpt from the current layout and a recommended, improved Table of Contents:

Review: I can't even begin to express how perfect this book is for anybody who has ever obsessed about their weight. Geneen knows all of the dieting and self-hatred downfalls, and this book has fifty simple remedies. Immediately after reading this book I felt an enormous change in my attitude towards myself and my body. I truly recommend it for everybody!

Summary: a book I can really do something with
Review: I have laughed about this book and it made me cry, because I recognised so much of it. It helped me a lot to put things together and be more friendly to myself. This book is really a gift.

Summary: funny, to-the-heart, a great book!
Review: i have never found an author who so accurately describes the feelings of a compulsive eater/dieter. i find myself quoting it at least 10 times a day! i never knew that my eating problems could be described with such humor. reading this book even brought to my memory some things i thought i'd forgotten from my past. check out her web site, too! i can't wait to attend one of her workshops!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Excellent summary of Geneen's philosophy.
Review: I have read all of Geneen's books but this one really gets down to the nitty gritty of it all. If you don't have time to read her other books, this one is concise enough to give you a sample of what she believes. Don't be fooled by the book size for there is a great deal of insite found inside Geneen's latest book.
