Review: I first met Pam and Peggy in 1981 as a young wife and mother overwhelmed by hearth and home. Eighteen years later, I'm still laughing with them, and loving every word they write...Even those who were "born organized" will appreciate the wisdom and humor of this wonderful book! Buy it, and then when you stop laughing, use it!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: This book put ME in control of the home. Review: A friend told me this book changed her life. Wow! what a review--I had to read it too. I generally think of myself as an organized person, so I didn't know how much I would learn. I learned a lot. The most important aspect was being in control of the household instead of the other way around. Instead of everything staring me in the face each morning saying, "This needs to be done," and "Do this task first," I now have a plan. I know ironing will be on every other Thursday, so I don't have to worry about it on the other days. That's the way it is for every job around the house. The authors are funny and endearing. Their method is revolutionary for me and my family. I have less stress and a clean, orderly home.

She wore the book out. Now I am the worst housekeeper and have been searching for this book to get me on track (no other books have worked). This book works!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Replacing well used edition with a new one. Review: I bought this book several years ago and have used the system. I now need to get a new copy because mine is so old and worn. I can really relate to these ladies my life was similiar to theirs. I wish they would write an updated version!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: one of the most pleasing books that I've ever read Review: Life before S.H.E. was lonely. You just knew that it was you against everyone else, and they were winning. After reading the book I immediately started the plan into effect. WoW....you talk about bring a boil to a head! Many years later and many times falling off the wagon and into the clutter piles again, I still give all the credit of my organizational skills to the S.H.E sisters. I've bought many of their books only to give them later as gifts because I brag of the systems so very much. Much too much for most sloppy-holic's. Apparently they enjoy the hunt of objects lost. Please keep on a writing.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Fun - effective - enlightening. Review: Pam and Peggy Jones describe how frustrated they were at failing in their self-chosen roles as housewives. By working together, they devised a housework system based on 3x5 cards, and it improved their housekeeping and saved their sanity. They break housework down into single, recurring tasks; assign each task a frequency and a day of the week or month to perform it; and arrange the cards in logical order. The key to success is this: you don't see a huge mass of housework. You just see the one card in front of you.
I have read this book more than once over the years I've owned it. My only beef with the system is that they don't have a simple test to show a woman whether - organized or not - she simply doesn't have the time to get everything done. A job-going mother with children at home needs assistance (from husband, kids, and paid help if the family can afford it) - NOT just a scheme for doing it better, all by herself.
Pam and Peggy now have their own Web site at http://www.columbian.com/slobsisters/.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Organizationally challenged? This is the book for you! Review: If you suffer from CHAOS (can't have anyone over syndrome) or IGAD (I've got all day), this is the book for you! Pam Young and Peggy Jones tell the story of their search for organization and how they found it with a 3x5 card file system. Written from the viewpoint of a SHE (Sidetracked Home Executive), they blend humor with down to earth advice on getting your life together. They refer to themselves as reformed slobs and make you feel that if they can do, anyone can. Their system is easy to set up and implement--although for a SHE, it's not always easy to follow. But with the encouragement found in this book, it makes the process fun. I highly recommend it!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: SHE is great for a lifetime Review: I first read the original "SHE, From Pigpen to Paradise" back around the time it was first published. I saw a small item on it in "Women's Day" magazine and ordered it. Now I was born with 50% organized and 50% disorganized genes, so I am half organized. With Pam & Peggy's card system I spent less time doing houseword and the house was cleaner. I had 1 child, who is now married and has produced the world's cutest and smartest grandbaby. Throughout her childhood I had 5 day care kids so you could say I was busy. Now that she's gone and its just my husband and me I fell out of my card box. Bad idea. The closets are a mess, last year I was an officer in an organization I belong to and did a really bad job and this Christmas I spent an unhappy day frantically wrapping presents until my leg hurt and my back hurt. Its been a long time since I experienced this kind of frustration. I understand that Pam & Peggy have gone to a binder organizer system. I can't wait to read their updated book! I've ordered mine already.

Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: I should have known these things.... Review: But I didn't. I love the beginning description of her good intentions gone awry, and having the home in upheaval when her husband's boss came over.
Give this book a chance. Try the steps suggested by Pam and Peggy. I never EVER would have imagined I could have a home that was clean UNDER the furniture! When I got this book, I was struggling to keep the large chunks in check, and the laundry monster was threatening to overwhelm our home.
God bless Pam and Peggy, who UNDERSTAND that we hate housework, and we aren't any good at it. I feel I finally understand the key to working/family/organization.
