Summary: Great book!
Review: I loved this book. I read it when it first came out some years ago and it really helped me get better organized. It is also pretty entertaining and leaves you with the feeling that you're getting advice from a couple of friends. It is especially good for stay-at-home moms. Later books by the authors modify the system for working moms.

Summary: Lifesaver Book
Review: I have a health problem which makes organization both mentally and physically very difficult. I have been using this book successfully for many years, off and on. The best part is that, when I slide I am set up to begin again immediately without guilt feelings. Besides, the book is good for many laughs!!

Summary: Intergenerational Readers
Review: I first read this book when it was first published way back when. When my oldest daughter, 10 or so when I first read it and now 29, was getting married last fall, I got her a copy of the book. She remembered the book from when she was a youngster; our family used it and she had fond memories of the hilarity contained within the covers AND the success we had when using it. Well, her younger sister saw the book and before I had a chance to give it to her, "borrowed" it and is also now using it. Both of them have recently decided to implement the card system and are reporting great success. So I went looking and found my old card file and have also decided to begin the journey again from pig-pen to paradise. This is a delightful book that truly does reach across generational lines and comes back to your children 20 or so years after first reading. Happy reading and organizing everyone!

Summary: First I laughed...then I've been doing the cards' thing...
Review: ...and last thing I know : I'm organized !
My husband got so jealous of my little box of 3x5 cards that he has been begging for one too !
I started using the sisters' technique at home. I am now also using it at work ! This is just great ! The book is written with such great humor, that I've been laughing out loud recognizing myself in the SHE descriptions they make. You won't loose your time reading this. Pretty complementary with Emily Barnes' books that I also found useful though not that funny.

Summary: 5 Stars for the Concept -- this really worked for me!
Review: This book was my last resort in trying to put some order in my life. Now that I'm not working, there's no personal assistant to follow me around, reminding me of appointments, locating lost papers and plane tickets, or just generally tidying up around me. Trying to get organized, I'd tried a Palm Pilot, a Franklin Planner, promises, prayers, New Year's Resolutions and was seriously considering electroshock therapy.

When I recently gave up my busy work life to come a work-at-home mom, I thought one of the results would be a neat and organized home. My excuse for a more than slightly disorganized home was that, as a full-time traveling working single parent, two dogs, two cats and a tank full of fish, I was just too busy. My fantasy was that more time at home would cure that.

It didn't -- if anything, my disorganization seemed to expand to fit the free time. Worse, even with all the free time, without spending much time on housework, I never seemed to be able to find the time to do a lot of things I wanted to do. My shelves were filled with home craft materials, but even if I had the time to spend on a project, I couldn't seem to locate what I needed.

But when my fourth grader's teacher told me he was the most disorganized child she'd taught in 7 years, and then showed me his desk overflowing with papers, books and homework assignments completed but never turned in, I realized something had to be done. I was training him to live in CHAOS (Can't Have Anyone Over Syndrome). Visions of my son in the future, opening his high school locker only to be buried alive, prompted me to find a solution for him -- which meant I needed to lead by example.

And so -- since nothing else had worked -- I ordered the book, and dubiously started to read it. Skeptically I forced myself to buy some index cards and filled them out (a rather simplistic and foolish notion, I thought). Feeling silly, I began following the instructions (I skipped over the somewhat goofy stories the sisters tell). Slowly my life began to get more organized.

At this point, my house is consistently tidy. My Christmas presents -- some home made -- are finished, wrapped and sent. Instead of taking up all my precious free time, being organized has given me more free time, and some peace of mind. Best of all, my son (whose homework still gets left behind sometimes) is helping with chores (without being ordered to do so) and working on being better organized.

Despite being so simple -- or perhaps because it is so simple -- this system really works for me. If you're lost in chaos and think nothing will work, try this book. It could change your life!

Summary: IT WORKS...what more do you need?
Review: I found the original book, Pigpen to Paradise, shortly after my husband was injured. I had three teenage boys at home and was working two jobs. This paperback book made my life easier to handle by tackling the hardest part to get in order.
At this time, I have my third copy of the Pigpen to Paradise book, because I keep loaning it out and it never comes back home!
Thank you so much, Pam and Peggy.

Summary: housecleaning fun?
Review: This book is SO helpful and entertaining at the same time. It is so comforting to know that there are other people out there who are not born organizers. Pam and Peggy help inspire you to get your house under control a little at a time. Their other book, Get Your Act Together, gives you more directions on setting up their system in your home. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who feels their homes are being over run by clutter!

Summary: It's changed the way I do housework
Review: I have a stack of organizational books! REALLY! This is the one that helped me most- I think it's because a lot of books out there were written by organized people and this book shows a disorganized person how to start swimming. It at least gave me a starting point. If you need support you can also find the Official SHE's in touch discussion board on the webforums.com website. You will make new friends and find new challengers to help you aspire to a clean house!

Summary: I am not alone!
Review: I loved this book because I felt such a camaraderie with the authors. I recommend it because it does help to know you aren't alone. This book helped me discover what needed to be done. It wasn't as helpful in helping me get it done. Julie Morganstern's book Organizing from the Inside Out was more helpful, but I might not be doing that as well if I hadn't read this first. Overall, it's a good book on a difficult subject. The system is better than nothing, but very demanding.

Summary: Absolutely fantastic!
Review: This book is a delightful and insightful look into the core of many of us. Sometimes I think Pam and Peggy must have been looking through my windows. They describe us to a "T". I laughed and cried and really began to see what made me tick and how I could climb out of the pit I was in. They have lived through this! They have also helped me to learn to love my home and family and also love myself. I recommend it to everyone.
