Rating: Summary: The Awakening Mind-Body Connection Review: As a woman, I was completely shocked and stunned by Dr. Christiane Northrup's Women's Bodies And Women's Wisdom. It is so much thought-provoking that I almost can not breathe when I was reading the book. I kept telling meself that this was the moment that God or my own spirit was talking to me . I felt that I was changed. The relief, joy, confidence, and enlightenment were undescribable. For how many time, we women felt stressed out and for how many married women, we felt our lives were pulled in thousand directions and we can never preserved a quiet time for our self-contemplation? Now after reading the book, I know that every physical problem in women has its mental origin. The wise woman can listen to her body and think deeply. What does the stress/anxiety/worry want to tell us? What opportunity fo me now to heal my mind and body, instead of being controlled by them? These questions force me to think wisely as a woman. I became less easy to get angry; I am more confident for myself; and above more, I realized that the final rein for my health and destiny is in my own hands! For these reason, I strongly recommend every woman to read this book.
Rating: Summary: Great! This book set me on a path to a better life. Review: I read this book cover to cover, enjoying every moment with laughter & tears. At last I' d found a medical professional willing to link all aspects of health: spiritual, physical, emotional and mental. Through the resources listed in the book, I have been able to make contacts in my area that led me to some wonderful Mds (an ob & a pediatrician) who are healers not just treaters.
Rating: Summary: Don't be put off by it's size! Review: I rented it from the library on a whim (I'm not much of a "self-help book" reader) and it has solidified a lot of what I've felt intuitively plus opened my eyes to viewing my health as a woman's issue, not just "medicine". I will be buying a copy of this for every significant female friend and relative I have. Excellent book, excellent material, easy to read, thought provoking.
Rating: Summary: The greatest book I have ever read! Review: I am a breast cancer survivor and this book was recommended by a co-worker. Not only did it give me information and insight about my body, that I never knew existed, but it changed my life! I changed my eating habits, I started a Yoga class, and my entire outlook on life has changed.

Rating: Summary: This is a fantastic book for women coping with health issues Review: Written by a female ob-gyn, she takes the surprising perspective of linking the mind-body connection and engaging your spiritual essence. I found it to be easy to read, the stories and personal anecdotes are especially enlightening. I am now re-reading (for the third time) one of my favorite parts, Steps to Healing. If you want to take control of your health and be an informed consumer, this book is for you. Dr. Northrup gives you permission to feel, to grieve, to move on, to get better. I am thrilled that this book is getting attention through Oprah's show. I saw Dr. Northrup on a PBS special and was immediately enthralled with her teaching.
Rating: Summary: It is meant only for the women. Review: I could see this book being good if you are a women, but it really doesn't help men much. Unless you prefer the alternate lifestyle I would recomend this book only for the women. Mabey the author should write a book "Mens Body Mens Wisdom"
Rating: Summary: The pill we have been looking for........ Review: This book was faboulous!!!! I couldnt read it fast enough, I was reading in 3 spots at once. The answers to what my body and mind were telling me and I wasnt listening to. I began to feel better just knowing that I wasnt the only one and that women like Christiane were setting up clinics with women in mind. Doctors are just so man oriented they dont hear what we are saying. I am just going to start reading it again to see if I missed anything!!! A gift from my husband as a put down to the fact that he thought I needed help turned out to be just what I needed.
