Review: As a start in my class of group counseling the teacher gives us a series of information necessary to fulfill this kind of counselig. She talks us of the characteristics, attitudes, and skills that a good counselor should have. Then she applies all of them to what a good leader in group counseling should be. She uses of reference a book named Theory and practice of group counselig 4th edition. I think if she has this kind of good information to give to us I should have in my personnal library to use it of reference to be a good and sharp counselor. I think I can use this book to help my clients and to keep myself with the best information.

Review: I am using this book in a graduate level group counseling class. I have found it to be very useful. It gives you an excellant overview of the various theories and how they can be utilized within group counseling. The Corey's have also produced a video tape of a group counseling session that also provides so valuable information.

Review: I was fortunate enough to take my group counseling class from Dr. Corey himself at Cal State Fullerton. The experience of learning from and being coached by Dr. Corey was amazing, and allowed even further insight into this text. The formula of the book is easy to follow. Individual theories are covered as well as lessons on the group process itself. A must read for anyone training to be a counselor!

Summary: Did not receive the right edition!
Review: Well, the picture and description said it would be the 5th edition, but I received an ANCIENT 2nd edition! It is nearly obsolete for the course I am taking, and will likely have to end up going to the book store to buy the correct edition. So, basically a total waste of my money!
