Rating: Summary: Awesome book..!!!!!!! Review: I found this book by accident a few weeks ago. I began doing the exercises, and I find it excellent. It is well written, the explanations are very easy to understand.
I did Nei Gung and Yoga in the past, and I have got to say that after a while I became bored with those exercises, based on simple routines with nothing new to teach.
By the way... it was funny reading Mr. Sander's review... I must say that Mr. Sanders must be a very ignorant person to think that this book in particular is claiming to be 10.000 years old. He wasn't smart enough to understand that what the author is referring to as "a teaching more than 10.000 years old" is that: the teaching being an ancient tradition, which hasn't got to be a written tradition. I also study dance, and I have studied several dances that are traditions from different cultural groups, and they were not written... therefore, don't they exist, Mr. Sanders?
Plus, this person also talks about lineages... My old Nei Gung teacher claimed to have a clear lineage, and even showed me the names of old masters, but it was boring anyway!
However, I liked this "Seamm-Jasani" book, for it is fun and it really relaxes me. It shows that the person who wrote it knows what he is doing... one can feel it when doing it, and to me that is what is important.

Rating: Summary: My stress has gone! Review: I have finally learnt how to breath.I had never realized the importance of breathing in our lives. I do not get tired or stressed anymore since I have been practicing these techniques.
Rating: Summary: Uniquely effective system Review: I ordered the Seamm Jasani book from simple curiosity. After one session of trying just the first few exercises, I knew I'd found "a pearl of great price". The energy washed over me in warm and gentle, yet powerful, waves, as though some kind of gate were unlocked. It felt so good. It has liberated something in me and I cannot thank this author enough. I have extensive experience in energy and movement systems (including nei gong/qi gong, Zen meditation, kundalini meditation, taijiquan, baguazhang, xingyiquan, various forms of Yoga, etc. After pondering the differences and similarities in movement among all of them, I have concluded that this one (Seamm Jasani) may be the original "root" system, from which the others derived various fragments over time. It seems to me that those other adopters then modified their fragments of this material for their own special purposes and created the various better-known systems. It's all a bit mysterious, but I can't argue with results. I've always been searching for a system that delivers the most "Bang" (pure energy) for the absolute least "Buck" (time investment, training process, special equipment, physical prerequisites, etc.) By this cost/benefit metric, Seamm Jasani takes "Win, Place, and Show" over any system or method known to me.

Rating: Summary: The book I was looking for. Review: I recommend anyone concerned about their health to read this book. For my experience with it, practicing these Seamm Jasani exercises has helped me reduce stress in my life, allowing me to relax and face the events of my day without tensing up. I'm just not as high strung anymore, which has really improved my relationships. Since I'm more relaxed it's also much easier for me to laugh! I've seen great changes in my body, too. My lung capacity is much bigger, and I can go through a lot more exercises than I could in the beginning, without getting tired. And I haven't gotten a cold in quite a long time. One other interesting part of the exercises in this book is that at first, you're doing one thing at a time... then after not too long you're doing two things at once, and before you know it you're able to control your body doing 5 or more things at the same time! I've been able to translate this to my life in general, and I've found myself able to concentrate on several things at once. Keeping a few balls in the air at the same time, so to speak. So I don't get flustered when I am doing one thing, and all of a sudden something else comes up. I just deal with it. Which is a much easier and fulfilling way to live!
Rating: Summary: Author could have a better attitude Review: I've just started practicing the exercises in this book and they do feel good. I imagine that with more practice and going deeper into the exercises I will feel better and better (I'll let you know!) And I am open to the idea that the ideas in this book are a very special find.
One thing in the book is a turn-off. The author has this disdainful, very uncompassionate view of how modern people live now. Like so many holistic health types he feels he is above it all. I found this a turn-off. His exercises may have made him feel more healthy and youthful but they haven't done much for his attitude towards others. Truly spiritual people are more loving and want to come from a place of service...wanting to help those who have bad habits or are having trouble finding the time or energy to exercise and live a more healthy life.
And I DO think the author should have gotten an artist to do the illustrations. The poor illustrations are a distraction to learning the exercises. The foreshortening of the body is very inaccurate. I wish he let go of his ego here and allowed an artist to take over.
Even with these issues I think the book is still worthwhile and probably does offer ways to feel better on many levels. I'll post another review on the effects of the exercises as I continue to practice them.
Rating: Summary: Not up to snuff Review: The exercises in the book might be great or they might just be some recycled Qigong moves. The author doesn't tell where he learned this or give any other information about its history. The instructions regarding breathing are sometimes confusing. The illustrations are small and the text sometimes leaves out instructions about when to keep moving your feet and hold your breath. I think that this guy is only interested in making money because now he travels around offering private instruction... If he didn't have exclusive dibs on a "secret art," then he'd probably be back on the corner.
Rating: Summary: Maybe not so secret! New agey stuff. Review: The review system is somewhat mysterious to me. The best review on this book is "Secret art??" by a California reviewer. Nonetheless that review has a very poor feed-back. The reviewer said that this is Nei Gung and HE IS RIGHT! Just go get a couple of books about Nei Gung/Chi Gung and see it for yourself. The author's claim that this is an UNIQUE art not are proven. The author says so but he doesn't prove it. The unique lineage he claims is not described at all. This having said, this is not a bad book. If you you wrecked your body because of neglection, it may help you out. The author clearly knows about motivational arguments. The art cover is really cool.
Rating: Summary: You need to read it. Review: This is a wonderful book that has changed my perpective towards relaxation books. It is a completely different system... I haven't been sick at all since exercising with it! You must definitively have it!
