Summary: A Real Treasure!
Review: The subheading of this book "the Fulfillment of your Dreams" is quite a fascinating concept. This best-selling author, guides the reader down a path of 'success', outlining principles and disciplines bound to help anyone reach a higher spiritual plane. This book shows you how to discover and unleash your 'true' self by breaking away from fear~ based thinking ( seeking approval of our actions/ needing to control /and a need for power are all fear~based methods of thinking). In fact, readers are urged to break away from the 'Pavlov effect' by resisting conditional reflexive responses triggered by circumstances out of one's control. Mr. Chopra goes on to explain that most people spend the majority of their energy connvincing or persuading others of their point of view. He asks the reader to understand that what they are feeling is not someone else's fault, instead one should take responsibility for one's own thoughts and actions.

There was a phrase that caught my attention. It read, "The operational software of your soul is karma, memory & desire". The chapter goes on to explain that everything is energy and information. Your attention to something energizes it, your intention transforms it. Therein lies the key, intent is desire without attachment to a particular outcome. A great quote from the book reads "The past is history, the future is a mystery, and this moment is a gift... that is why this moment is called the 'present'." So we must learn to accept the present and intend the future, for the future is created now in the present.

One of the simplest insights to apply in everyday life, is to remember that the easiest way to achieve a goal or get what you want out of life ( whether it is personal or business oriented ) is to help others get what they want. Success is much easier to accomplish when there are myriads of people who want you to succeed, as opposed to when it's just you.

In each of the Seven Spiritual Laws, Mr. Chopra presents a way for people to align their lives with the most compatible way of achieving success in one's life. This title weighs in at a mere 110 pages, but it sure packs a wallop of punch. A knockout punch to be sure. This book is highly recommended for anyone who wants to achieve a higher level of spirituality and an understanding of how their world operates. In fact, even a basic human cell follows the spiritual laws. This is one of the best investments of time and money you'll ever make, and a treasure you'll come back to again and again.

Summary: My soul guide
Review: When I read this book, I realised that Deepak Chopra is the guru I have been waiting for. It is simply superb!

Summary: A philosophical book that I enjoyed tremendously
Review: If you're looking for a book that will serve as a practical guide about how to become financially successful, this book is NOT for you. This book's focus is more a philosophical guide on how to accept fate and let go of events in our lives that we don't necessarily have control over. For example, Chopra suggests that after we've done our best to prepare for success, let go of the final outcome. If our plans don't work the way we anticipated, so be it. He teaches the reader how to accept fate and let fate serve as a guide to us as far as the direction we need to be taking in our lives. Chopra is NOT saying good things in life will come to you if you only sit on the couch, but provides readers with new ways of thinking about disappointments, successes, achievements, and failures. He suggests that by trying to force too much of our will on the events or people in our lives, we can actually push out of our reach the very things we desire. I found this book to be very calming and reassuring. He reminds us that we, as humans, are not ultimately in control of our lives, and that there is a higher power that influences our destiny, whether it be the energy of the universe or God. I think each reader can tailor Chopra's philosophies to their own needs, no matter what their religion. It just simply takes an open mind to do so. If you worry a lot about your future, I think you'll find this book a reassuring stress-reliever. Hope this helps!

Summary: A very important book
Review: Sure, there are too many self-help books on the market, that often say similar things. In this one, Deepak Chopra manages to take some timeless advice (some of which has been in other books) and ADD HIS PERSONAL SLANT in simple, easy to understand language that makes it accessible and usable. And, a fast read. I was so impressed with this book, I gave a copy to my wife on our first date 2 years ago. I've given copies to other friends too. Check out the section on detachment from the results, and see if you don't get an epiphany. Read the book twice, then re-read it yearly.

Summary: Excellent Book! True Success has Nothing to do with Money!
Review: This book is not for the closed minded materialistic person whose only measure of success is the amount of material possessions he/she has. This book is also not for closed minded individuals who are behind in their spiritual evolution that they can't see beyond the "crude matter" of our bodies and the physical world. This book is for those open-minded individuals who want to live happy lives from a higher perspective. A perspective which goes far beyond the material dictates of our society and the dogmatic dictates of organized religions.

True success is being able to be thankful for what you have and accomplishing those things which you set your mind and effort to. When you live without attachment, you know from a higher perspective that the final outcome will be to your benefit, even if the immediate outcome isn't what you want.

True success is living a life of balance and harmony. This book's true message is about living in balance and from a higher perspective where the only limits you have are set by yourself.

Summary: Deepak's Wrong Turn--and One to Get on Track
Review: Deepak Chopra's earliest works -- which synthesized western medicine with eastern spirituality and made him famous -- are excellent, even important reading. It seems though that he's gotten hooked on his success and for years now has been more concerned with marketing and spinning out popular stuff that with serious work. The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success is supposed to be a sort of Dale Carnegie meets eastern guru, and Deepak is so bright he can almost pull it off, except he can't overcome the inherent contradiction in such a merging: Namely you can't be detached, as means for gaining success. To be truly detached (or a better word is nonattached or nongrasping) is to be truly accepting of your circumstances; so to try to use it as a tool so "money flows your way," is both silly and won't work. For a much more grounded and practical guide(which is still wise and infused with an eastern spirituality), check out The Mindful Money Guide. It delivers sound advice on all matters related to personal finance, without forgetting quality of life counts most.

Summary: Give me a break!
Review: I don't understand why people like this guy. He says this is a "practical" guide. His suggestions are ridiculous. They are so airy-fairy, so wispy, it's hard to believe he's selling books. Yeah, if you want to be successful, just meditate and be one with the universe and everything will magically work out for you. Tripe. Don't waste your money. You will be hard-pressed to find a speck of practical value in the book. Meditation has many benefits. Chopra doesn't talk about any of them. I guess he figures if he says things that sound profound enough, he can fool people into thinking he's deep.

Summary: It helped me focus on what I want in life and how to get it
Review: After my grandfather finished reading " Seven Spiritual Laws", he gave it to me. After I read it I gave it to my dear freind. After he read it, he passed it along as well. This is the kind of book that everyone should read atleast once, and share or pass down as many times as possible.

Summary: THIS IS THE BOOK on the way it works.
Review: This is NOT a book about getting rich quick. It is a handbook for successful living. It is a book of the metaphysical principles by which we and the universe operate. It is not the soft and easy path that Deepak leads us on, but if one incorporates these practices into their life, their experience will certainly improve. The book challenges you to reconsider your beliefs, attitudes and perspectives as you proceed on your journey. If you are feeling lost and confused and lacking direction, the study of this book could change your life. Give this book to someone you love.
