Rating: Summary: If nothing else, a good way to approach life Review: The beauty of this book is that it is so simply written. I finished it in a day, because I wanted to read on, but it really should be savored slowly. Regardless of your religious beliefs, the laws make sense in a very basic way. They are about living your life in a simple, open way -- leaving yourself open to opportunity, giving yourself space to hear your inner voice, learning not to judge or be influenced by the judgment of others, and other worthy ideas. Each chapter is devoted to one law, and each law has three supporting ideas that are recapped at the end of the chapter for easy reference. In the concluding chapter Chopra sums up the seven laws by observing a single cell in a living organism. This example was so illuminating for me and made me really understand the beauty and sense of the laws.
Rating: Summary: Overated Review: This book is really overated. This book is rather 'consumer' orientated, and the contents are a reflection of this - very shallow. If you want a good book that talks about the laws of success buy 'The Golden 12:universal rules for achieving success' by Herbert Harris- it is a much, better and clearer book on principles of success.
Rating: Summary: Probably............................. Review: Yes what deepak says is probably good.....but how about making it less complicated then it really is? I find the text hypocritical in parts especially when knowing how much Deepak's treatment centres and seminars cost.
Rating: Summary: Words of Wisdom Review: I found the Seven Spiritual very inspirational. Deepak Chopra gives you 7 different laws of the spirit. He tells you how to follow a life without an ego. Which means a life without selfishness. Deepak mentions how you can make wonderfull decisions for your life. He suggests that you find your hidden talents and with those talents benefit mankind. I found the seven spiritual laws of success very beneficial to my life. I will recommend this book to anyone, who wnats to improve their lives.

I will be sharing this great knowledge with my brother, sisters, parents, friends and everyone I encounter everyday. Increase the peace and happiness! Thanks Mr. Chopra!

Rating: Summary: Shades of grey Review: As I read the customer reviews about "The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success", I find it fascinating that the reviews are almost without exception one of two types; "Five stars--very positive--this book changed my life" or "One star--this new-age drivel makes me sick, please do not give your money to this man who is only using feel-good rhetoric to liberate the gullible from their money" There are not many reactions that are in the middle.I think extreme opposing reactions are typical to great works. And I do think that this is a great work. The reason that I think it is so good is because the author is inspired to write what he does. This is a man who , from what I can tell, has been a seeker all his life. Ever the seeker, his path has led him to become an inspired teacher. To paraphrase Einstein--"Great minds have always had violent opposition by mediocre minds" But, I digress. The important point that I want to express here is that it DOES NOT MATTER if what Mr. Chopra says is true or not. What is important is that it inspires real, positive change in peoples lives. The inspiration and the change are what are real. The details are irrelevant. I have read this book many times because the words awaken something in my soul that has always been there. If you believe what Mr. Chopra says then that is all that matters. If you think it is bunk, then that is all that matters as well. The power of ones belief is EVERYTHING. It can change lives, conquer countries, kill millions, or deliver someone from the depths of hell to the gates of heaven. It can also do absolutely nothing--depending on the believer and what is believed. If you belive that Deepak Chopra is just another smart con-man who is playing to peoples emotions to get to thier money, then the power of your belief is what will win. It doesn't matter how many times you read the book. Nothing is more powerful than what you believe. If on the other hand, you are a person who believes they can be inspired, and have no obstructing beliefs to begin with (also called an open mind) then the chances are good that this book will touch you in a deep way. As with anything in life, it is entirely up to what you believe.
Rating: Summary: This is a very helpful book. Review: I enjoyed Chopra's work a great deal and feel as though the guidance offered through the Seven Spiritual Laws will aid me greatly as I follow my path toward the future. However, I have a suggestion for people who read this book. We cannot find success by only focusing inward. I think the book under emphasizes how important it is to have outward looking strategies for dealing effectively with people. An exciting new book that I recommend, is WINNING WAYS: Four Secrets for Getting Great Results by Working Well With People, by Dick Lyles. Lyles' principles are nicely aligned with Chopra's and I think the two books taken together present an especially powerful way to approach life. More important, WINNING WAYS provides powerful outward focused strategies that I missed in the Chopra book.
Rating: Summary: Take me now Lord! Review: Deepers has produced yet another yet another yet another "best seller". The message of this (and all Deepers' other books for that matter) is deceptively simple, if implicit. It is not to be found in the pages of this latest marvel, but in the book's very existance. The "practical guide to fulfillment of your dreams" does NOT have 7 parts; only one: when you're on to a good thing, stick to it baby; milk it for all it's worth; flay it 'til its mince-meat, and then some. So, as Deepers' demonstrates (again, in his actions rather than his words), his goal is to make himself wealthy - very wealthy. Money and possessions provide him with a path to infinite peace and tranquility. He has discovered that the means to obtain this goal is to use particular phrases over and over and over that elicit a pleasurable reaction in certain people (as to why, we'll leave to the sociologists and psychologists). Thus, all that one can really say about this book by way of recommendation is this: if pleasurable sensations of some kind were felt by you on reading previous books written by Deepers', then you will (as a general rule) experience the same sorts of reactions on reading this book. Deepers', no doubt, will also experience a pleasurable reaction to you purchasing it, though probably for not-so-spiritual reasons.
Rating: Summary: The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success Review: I have read other books of Deepak Chopra and got a lot out of them, especially Ageless Body, Timeless Mind. However with this book I have a lot of difficulty understanding his language. Some examples: "the field of infinite correlation" "the field of infinite organizing power" "the ultimate ground of creation" "experience stillness inconsciousness" "your true essence will give you insight into the mirror of relationship" "life is the eternal dance of consciousness that expresses itself as the dynamic exchange of impulses of intelligence between microcosm and macrocosm, etc." The wording is over my head! I read non-fiction books regularly but this one is "over my head."
