Summary: A good start
Review: This book will give you a good start. Just be careful. You are dealing with some stuff that can actually endanger you if used wrongly.

--First of all, this book is a very good intro to NLP.

--One pulldown is that he wants you to pay money for his seminars.

--I would recommend that you look at this book as a good collection of notes that he made during his experiences with utilizing NLP. Plus it is his own model of how a person should be in order to be sucessful, and it has worked for him.

--Another thing: It is your decision if you want to be dependant on him. It is nonsense, for me, however, how people who seem to be so dependant on him, paying him so much money for talking.

--His stuff is good, it's just...do you have the money to pay for it?

--Stuff like his meta responses (meta-programs) to peoples' reactions is classic and beautiful. I look at this book more as a foundation or a trail going towards rather than the actual thing; the actual thing is done only through utilization of the stuff in this book and others.

Summary: Buyer beware - Master con artist at work here
Review: This man recommends ridiculous and dangerous dietary practices (eat only one type of food at a time, no water while eating, limit protien rich foods), unbelievably bad medical advice (vaccines are bad, prescription medicines are not necessary, germs are not the cause of disease) and sells many, many fraudulent products ($140 dollar necklaces that protect against "elecromagnetic forces", his brand of water - the only "safe" water available).

What a quack.

If you attend one of his meetings, he'll spend two hours trying to sell you on signing up for his other workshops, at a cost of $10,000!

Or you could just join his "platinum partners" exclusive vacation club for a year for only $35,000! Oh - don't forget to read the fine print.... transportation, food and hotel costs are NOT included! I guess the 35K is for the priviledge of being in his general vicinity.

What a fraud.

I can't believe there aren't more people speaking out against his guy. His dietary recommendations alone are worthy of a lawsuit.

Don't give him a penny.

Summary: Its his lack of conventional education that gives him sight.
Review: I have a doctorate from Oxford University (its called a Dphil as opposed to a PhD) and I am also an MD and an MBA. I earn approximately 500k a year and I am constantly seekin ways to make my life more fulfilled. Its not about money - been thee, gt the T-shirt. Its about success in every aspect of life. I'm oly 32 and I'm about to marry the woman of my dreams. I am in the best physical state that I've ever been in. I have tremendous peace of mind and confidence. Success begats success. Call Tony Robbins anything you want to - I've never met the guy - but he's certainly changed my life. For an 'uneducated' person who is allegedly making a mockery of education - I think, whatever he is, he is good for humanity. So deal with t all those of you who just dont get it. Thanks and good luck people ;-)

Summary: Tony Robbins is a genius!!!
Review: If you have an interest in NLP and dont know where to start, this book is for you. It describes a lot of the basics of NLP and is written in a way that is concise and easy to understand. I am fairly new to NLP and this book was my gateway to this amazing science. The one problem I had with this book is that it seems short in some areas but overall, its an excellent read.

Summary: More Limited than Some May Think
Review: This stuff is common sense, mixed in with several psychological and philosophical ideas. Reading the book will not change your life. I think if you attempt some of the tings here, you will wind up in rather comical situation. Imagine mimicking someone and getting called on it, like this: "Are you mocking me?" "What's wrong with you?" etc. Hilarious, but not very effective.

Summary: another positive review
Review: I know that many positive reviews have already been posted for this book, but I would still like to post another review to express my accalaimation towards this very well written book.

Unlimited Power is another excellent book, and it gets better and better towards the end.

May things covered in the book are based on NLP and I think that it would be useful you have first read a book covering the basic princilpes of NLP, like "Introducing Neuro-Linguistic Programming" by J. Oconner before diving into this book.

Summary: Excellent--Even For Youngsters!
Review: I read Unlimited Power shortly before I entered high school--and I'm so glad I did. This book is jam packed with quality, highly applicable information. Tony shares inspirational stories, empowering beliefs, exciting strategies, and "quick 'n dirty" tricks for improving your life.

I apply Tony's info virtually every day. Whenever I'm studying and I feel like quitting, I use what I like to call a "Tony trick" and pretend the information is the most fascinating stuff I've ever encountered. As Tony puts it, I "use motion to create emotion" (he's not always that hokey :). It's swell.

Whenever I'm plagued by recurring thoughts, I tweak my mental image Tony Robbins style. That is, I make the video flowing through my head a freeze frame, fuzzy, black & white, and distant. It works wonders.

Whenever I need to build rapport with people I now mirror their body positions.

I can see but one drawback. The first solid chunk of the book is a lot of inspirational stories and "this info can change your life" stuff. I ate it up my first time through, but if you only want the powerful stuff, then you should skip the first big section. But, still, Unlimited Power is an almost magical tome of applicable wisdom for people of all ages. This was the book that instilled a fascination with success psychology within me. In a nutshell, buy it! It's one of the best investments you'll ever make.

Summary: Genius
Review: Tony Robbins is a genius at simplifying the science of Neuro-Linguistic Programming. I have studied the Neuro-Sciences for over two decades. And, as a personal and professional development expert I can tell you Unlimited Power is the beginning of your journey to ultimate fulfillment.

Summary: The master of personal power just got divorced...
Review: To start with---It makes more sense to learn success from somebody who has struggled with the same kind of problems YOU have had---Tony Robbins didn't climb the corporate ladder, he didn't fight a horrible disease. TO hear his story he lived in a small one bedroom apartment and was 38 pounds overweight--oh man the obstacles he has climbed!

But I must give him his due. He found a way to market common sense---there's a lot of that going around. He's a success because schleps like us actaully believed he could tell us something different.

In a way it is different. If you REALLY believe that the key to success lies in a vegeterian diet, a strong physiology (his ridiculous logic is that if you are smiling you are "telling your brain that you are happy" and then you will be happy), that everything is done in attempt to avoid pain or achieve pleasure--and countless other simple crap--than by all means waste your money on the TR empire. The book is poorly written and full of self-serving anecdotes.

Just remember---for all the hype about him being the master of personal relationships TR is divorced. Recently.
