Summary: Political correctness makes real face reading impossible
Review: This book, and probably all other face reading books published in the US, tries to be politically correct. The author focuses on the positive side of all facial features and that makes face reading much less convincing. And maybe that is why so few people in the US take face reading seriously.

Good face reading books written by ancient Chinese scholars are beautiful, accurate yet very straight forward. For example, people with high and wide foreheads are considered intelligent and superior while people with low and narrow foreheads are considered dumb and inferior. The author is obviously aware of at least some of those theories, but perhaps he can not tell all the truth because he has to be politically correct to stay away from discrimination charges.

Not all facial features are equally important. For example, forehead reveals more information than chin does. Unfortunately, the author seems to give equal weight to all the features.

The expression of one's eyes may be more important than the shape of the eyes. Good face reading books should not focus only on physical characteristics.

The drawings of this book are indeed very good.

This book deserves 4 stars comparing with other English face reading books. It would get only 2 stars comparing with the best Chinese books on this subject.

Summary: Quite an interesting book.
Review: Well I picked up this book with extreme skepticism as to its ability to accurately read into a person's personality through their face. After reading it I noticed that it fairly accurate in its predictions. To call it "offensive and dangerous" is completely irrational. Its a very interesting book and would reccomend it to anybody interested in the subject.

Summary: Good Reference; Check out Rose Rosetree's books, too
Review: What I like the most about Mr. Fulfer's reference book is that the information is well organized, so it is quick and easy to find the data on, say, a nose which has a bump in the middle and large square nostrils. The information appears to be mostly accurate, and the pencil drawings are helpful.

However, after carefully studying several face reading books, I would encourage readers to check out Rose Rosetree's two books, The Power of Face Reading, and Wrinkles Are God's Makeup. While the Fulfer guide is nice to have when you need to access quick information, Rosetree's books are full of interesting and useful insights, and they seem to consistently ring true.
