Summary: The science of Theology
Review: 1. Everything was created of spirit matter.
Are we to understand that all things were created first spiritually and then physically? So the beginning of God's work was to create all things spiritually as the pattern for what was created physically. After being created physically, it becomes our mission to become spiritually prepared to return back into the presence of God. Thus man's high attainment is too gain immortality and eternal life, the highest spiritual achievement possible and thus God's work is to bring to pass this last work.
2. There is no space that is not occupied by God's light and love. Are we to understand that space is infinite and that it is not an infinite void? The light of God spreads through the infinite boundaries of space and there is no space that is not filled with his light and love. God is all powerful, all present, and all knowledgeable. Jesus is the great creator or all things, the great Jehovah.
3. All life operates in spheres of intelligence and governed by law.
Are we to understand that every creature resides within a kingdom realm and this creature has both felicity and glory upon which it operates and these creatures abide the laws of their kingdoms? It would seem that each kingdom is given a law and for every law certain bounds and conditions apply. So, if natural governs life through laws of nature does man have the right and power to alter these laws through genetic engineering? If the body is designed to exist forever with cell differentiation and rejuvenation but nature transmits signals for the immortal cell to die does man have the right to turn off that signal and thus prolong life indefinitely from death by natural causes? Furthermore, can we conclude that all truth resides within the sphere that God placed it and that truth operates in independent for itself? Therefore, one concludes that all existence comes about because of intelligence and intelligence operates in independent spheres in which God placed it. Why does God create these spheres of truth? The answer implies and anthropomorphic conclusion that God organized these spheres for man. The earth's existence is perfectly designed to be suitable for man. Considering all the infinite possible existences that could have occurred, God chose the existence that was hospitable for man: an atmosphere that supported life, a magnetic core that regulates the environment, and jet streams that control precipitation from the oceans.
4. Death is a rebirth.
The connotation of rebirth suggests an emerging from one existence into another existence. This is a fascinating proposition where a real experience can be experienced of passing through a tunnel, emerging into a light, being surround by loved ones, and seeing a spiritual realm similar to the temporal realm with gardens, buildings, and familiar friends and family members and being given to opportunity to continue growth through "pure knowledge" rather than "faith and endurance". Furthermore, it seems that the veil that blocks our perfect understand of God will be removed and we will know with out spiritual self the true nature of God. Considering the amount of light and truth we possess at the time of our death will determine our advantages in the after life.
5. Jesus ministry was to teach love. Love is the most important lesson we can learn in this life.
Are we to understand that Jesus mission was to teach love? What are the two great commandments? Love God with all your heart, might, mind, and strength and the second like it, love your neighbor as yourself. In Deuteronomy, Mose as prototype of Jesus also taught these great commandments. Jesus did not come to destroy the prophets but full fill. Jesus was the great healer, his healings were done out of compassion and love. Jesus taught us to serve one another and gain joy through service. Jesus lived a high law than the law of Mose as demonstrated in the parable of the Good Samaritan. Within the parable, all the actor were within the ridged law of Mose and therefore exempt from punishment; however, the Good Samaritan a despised remnant of Jewish and Babylon intermarriage was not obligated to help, yet he showed great love for his neighbor. When we show compassion and love for our neighbor and give freely to the poor and naked, did we not do this unto Jesus? Our acts of love for the poor and hungry may someday cause us to hear the words, "I will see you in heaven". Our temporal weakness has been overcome by our spiritual determination.
6. When we came to earth a veil of forgetfulness prevents us from seeing the past.
Are we to understand that God placed a veil of forgetfulness as we pasted from spiritual to temporal? Temporally man strives in a world of Jealousy, pride, and fear of his own existence. A chasm forms between God and man and man seems to be the enemy of God. The chasm is narrowed as man humbles himself before God and submits his will with God. Therefore, faith and love begin as man becomes meek, humble, and submissive to the will of God. By kindiness and pure knowledge God completes the bridge and man comes to understand his true spiritual self and his relationship with God. The separation not longer exists and man has overcome his probation and test.
7. We are all God's children.
Are we to understand that God has a mission for us and are at different levels of spiritual understanding? A child learns from his parents: culture, beliefs, values, and history. As children of God, we are preparing to understand God, and are learning by experience and observation the knowledge of God. Each of us has spiritual needs that a loving God provides for us. We must learn to love and get along as good children of God.
8. Jesus is a separate being from God the Father.
Are we to understand that God has a tangible body like man? Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ are two separate beings. The Holy Ghost does not have a body of flesh and bones. Therefore, Jesus speaks or acts in the authority of the Father as the stewart or savior of all mankind.
9. We were given agency to act for ourselves. God promised not to interfere unless we ask his help.
Are we to understand that God expects us to pray to him for help and strength, otherwise, he will not interfere. God will not force us back into heaven. We must choose to yield to the enticing promptings of the Holy Ghost and become a saint through the atonement of Christ. If man decides not to turn to God, God will not violate the principle of agency and force him to comply. Man learns by his experience Good from evil through opposition. As man becomes more meek, submissive, and childlike in his relationship with God, God in turn begins to act upon this man teaching him truths, granting power, and expanding his knowledge of that which is just and true.
10. The weakness of the flesh must be overcome with the strength of the spirit.
Are we to understand that the temporal body can be a burden to the spirit? Presuppose, we are enlightened beings of existence before gaining a temporal body and that in many cases our assignment was to grow, learn, and experience suffering then it is logical that the temporal body would be a burden. Only God knows when the experience is sufficient and the learning complete. This implies that God both understands our situation and empathizes with a perfect understanding our experiences and shares in our delight in understanding. The purpose for this experience is between the individual and God and is shielded from the general populace as to the purpose. So, we may think the vagrant on the street as despised of man but not understand his purposes as dictated by God. Therefore, we should not judge incorrectly. Instead, we must introspectively examine our own falts and repair them before God.
11. Each Element in the Universe has intelligence.
Are we to understand the elements govern the cosmos and the elements are intelligent? The element has always existed. The element operates on principles of intelligence. God communicates with the elements and they respond. Therefore, this means that a higher intelligence has power over a lower intelligence. God's intelligence must supercede the intelligence of the elements. So, in the beginning was the word and the word was good. By the power God's word or intelligence, he created the cosmos and worlds without end. The glory of God is Intelligence. Light cleaves to light and truth to truth. Man's quest is too gain as much in intelligence as possible in this life.

Summary: Transforming Experience
Review: This book highlights the transformation that occurs at true NDEs, and the psychic phenomena that often accompanies experiencers is shown clearly here. I think this book together with Psychic Gifts Tools to Connect by Dr. Snow (another NDE experiencer) make some of the best reading on transformation from NDEs that I have ever read. Both also highlight how the choices we make here in our lives ripple on through to our death experience, and how we can connect to our higher selves and each other, and fine tune powerful spiritual abilities, right here on earth. We all have much to gain from reading these accounts.

Summary: Cashing in on Grief?
Review: Most people who read this book have it handed to them after the death of a loved one. For me it was my wife's father. She read it and found it to be a great comfort and she wanted me to read it too. I was skeptical but for her sake, I read it. I am a slow reader but this thing is so full of fluff I got through it in just over two hours. Religion is a great comfort to people in times of personal grief and I realize this book has helped many people to cope with death. But religion is also one of the few career fields, along with politics, where you can turn bull---- into money. It is plainly obvious that this whole thing is made up.

She never says why she was in the hospital. What caused her near-death experience? Explaining this might have given the story a little more credibility, but for the author, none of this was relevant. The only reason for writing the book was to tell the miracle story. Most NDEs last only a few minutes. This one was long enough for a feature-length film, and she seems to have total recall of every little detail. How could she have survived such a lengthy near-death experience? She crammed a lot of material into the four or five minutes that a person can survive such an ordeal.

Pardon me for being skeptical of a book that clearly has helped so many people in their darkest hour. Maybe the author is sincerely trying to use her writing skills to help people cope with death. But on the other hand, if there is a heaven and if she is trying to cash in on the grief of others, she'll need more than a good line of bull---- when she meets her maker for real.

Summary: Should be on every Enlightened NDE shelf!
Review: This book Embraced by the Light by Betty Eadie is one of the books to be on any NDE experiencer's bookshelf, even if it is simply for the early historical basis and the "warm fuzzy" feeling that her eloquent writing invokes in the reader. The Light of love and the Light of God felt and seen at the NDEs is something I myself experienced eight years ago. This book, Dannion Brinkley's book Saved by the Light, and Tiffany Snow's book Psychic Gifts Tools to Connect and any of Raymond Moody's books, are a welcome and necessary part of any curious visitor to the near-death experience, and I would also suggest reading all the information complied by IANDS.

Summary: A worthy and kind FICTIONAL interpretation of an account.
Review: What goes against my conviction of her account is her ability to remember such precise and defined details years after it actually happened. How many of us can remember what we dreamed last week, or last night for that matter? And, how conscious are we of that experience - whether it were reality or a creation of the conditioned mind? Her interpretation was too detailed, but again, most importantly, too consciously focused to be dismised as an unconscious creation of the mind.

I'm sure she meant well by painting a picture of the afterlife for people who have lost loved ones in the past. But credibility of remembrance of details after such a long time - and - with the conscious of the unconscious is just not believable in the reality of mind.

Read this fictional account for entertainment, but don't believe everything you read; just like this post. Make up your own mind.

In the end, it is really just a question of faith in her experience.

Summary: One of many books which give the same message
Review: I consider myself an ordinary, logical and self-confident individual at my forty. I live in the US, but I was born and raised in far East. I do not belong to any churches nor religious groups, but I do believe in God (or higher supeior power). I picked this book up to kill my time when I was visiting my in-laws on our vacation. I always had a question about life after death, so I have been reading books, articles or anything that touches the topic here in America and back in Japan. My conclusion and answer to my question is that there is another life after death without our bodies, and that death is nothing to fear. No matter how alone we must feel in this life, our souls are closer to our friends and family in the way we don't even realize. I cannot explain or have no ability to prove my answer. Spirit world does exist according to all those people who experienced near death or came back from their deaths. What I most got out of this book was for us to really live everyday life with appreciations for things we have--both tangible and intangible, love one another, help ones who's in need, and learn and grow together while we are here. That is the message I received from her book as well as all other readings I've done. I feel that this kind of book is not there to be reviewed or analyzed the intentions of being published, but there to be available for those who are seeking an answer to thier questions about lives at thier own level. Easy to read book.

Summary: Allright.
Review: I don't know what to title this. I read the book because my mother told me about it. She sounds so much like a Mormon it isn't funny. That's the way I see it now after having read other NDE accounts from various religious backgrounds. There is no way to verify NDE's aside from finding things that coincide with one another. So, as a story it is helpful in overcoming grief, affirming Jesus as a loving being, Heaven as a wonderful place. I give it four stars because I find it well written. However, I find it nothing more than a spiritual pipe dream. The fact that everything is decided upon and agreed upon in Heaven is the kind of fuzzy feeling yarn that I was weaned on. But in sad reality, life is just life and can be entirely confusing. I do have a strong conviction in spirituality, though.

Betty Eadie I believe is in her best efforts to write this book. I don't think the intent is to make a buck. But, I don't think any of us can give a definite answer to the afterlife if there is one.
