Summary: I think the concept is good,however i'm not losing
Review: I was on this diet for about 3 weeks without losing anything..In the morning I'd have bacon and eggs, for lunch a salad,and then my reward meal in the evening... I will say that after going off it for a couple weeks my energy was much lower. Can someone email me with some advice? I need to lose about 100lbs....I want to start the millenium out with a bang.. my husband and I just joined a health club...

Summary: Love the book and the diet
Review: I have been on the diet for 8 days and have lost 8 lbs already and feel good to boot. I walk everyday so that helps I guess. It never did before though and I am so excited to be losing weight as I haven't been able before. I do have one question though, if anyone can answer it. I baked the bread out of the soy flour and I was hoping some one knows how many gram of carbs are in a one inch slice

Summary: The first "diet" I have tried that's easy, sensible & works.
Review: My husband and I have been on this new eating plan since Oct. 7, 1998. I had read and tried the Adkins Diet and had some luck with it. I found this book in seaching Amazon.Com for more info on the low carb type diets. I ordered, read and shared it with my husband. I have lost 20 lbs and my husband has lost 29.5 lbs and we feel great, are not craving foods, have lots of energy and basically food does not hold the same priority in our lives as it did. We really enjoy being able, though, to have a reward meal and eat anything we may want. We have never felt deprived. It really works!

On the recipes, a more expanded breakfast menu with more items would be nice. But, all in all it is the best we've tried. We plan to make it a life time way of eating .

Summary: I lost 35 pounds because of this book!!!!
Review: I lost 35 pound because of this book. I weighed 165 pounds and was in a size 12. I now wear a size 8. I have kept off this weight for 2 1/2 years now. It is a diet that anyone can do! What diet allows you to eat anything that you want for one meal??..I truly recommend this diet book to anyone. I have friends who have lost 13 pounds in 1 week and another that has lost over 50 pounds in a couple of months. I am so happy that I bought this book!!!!

Summary: GREAT BOOK! LOST 30 POUNDS IN 4 MONTHS!
Review: Great book! Once I understood the relationship of wait gain and insulin production, it was very easy to understand the effect that carbohydrate had on me. I feel great. No more cravings between meals and I have been able to maintain the wait loss through the holidays. The important thing is that you must follow the diet and not eat between meals. It is easy, since you know at your reward meal you can eat anything that you want. I have plateaued for several months after losing 30 pounds. However, I'm not sure how to jumpstart it again to lose more wait. If anyone knows, please let me know. Any how, I feel great. Even if I don't loose any more wait, I will stay on the diet.

Summary: IT'S A MIRACLE!!!
Review: I have struggled for over 2 years to try and get off the 120 pounds I gained during a long battle with clinical depression. Every diet I tried left me more depressed, more worn out, and most of all...fatter. I could not under any circumstances get rid of the horrible cravings I had for sweets. At the office, I could down 4 donuts easy. No body knew I ate that much because I would sneak them into the bathroom to eat them. But, now I have lost nearly 16 pounds in the last 4 weeks. I am not hungry, and my appetite has decreased incredibly. I feel like a new woman, having both energy and a better night's sleep. Also, I stopped losing my hair which I suppose was caused by the Insulin somehow. For all the people who thought they couldn't do it or "would start tomorrow" - Your tomorrow is finally here.

Summary: changed my life--lost 45 lbs eating foods I like!
Review: I had given up hope of ever losing weight. Weighed 236 lbs at 6'1" . All around my middle. The hour hour I finished the book, I knew it made sense. In plain English I understood whamy problem was and why I was a carbohydrate addict. slowly over time the fat cells shrink. Fat does not weigh a lot as compared to lean muscle. You lose size before the weight loss shows up. Fat in your cells is like bubble wrap packaging. It does not weigh a lot, but it takes up a lot of space.

The best part is that you still get to eat those delicious carbs but only at dinner meal. imagine eating good food and losing weight. I went from a size 43 waist to 38. I have recommended this book and the other books by the Hellers to numerous people who are losing weight eating real food--no pills, no fat grabbing chemical. It's the only way to lose the weight and keep it off.

Summary: This book has been for me as if I have come home.
Review: I started the program in May 1998. I have lost 77lbs and have another 65 to go. This program works exceedingly well with my metabolism. The energy that I have and the satisfaction that I feel keeps me faithful to the goal that I have set. The stories of other addicts have given me the strength to keep going. Therefore I continue to reread the book as an encouragemnet to me. I encourage you to continue and not to lose hope in your goals.
