Summary: It works!
Review: I have changed my eating habits as a result of this book and the pounds have really come off.It is truly amazing that the weight can be shed by just reducing, not eliminating, carbohydrates. The exercise program I was on and a reduction of calories was making a small difference, when I changed my eating habits as a result of this book, I lost 4 lbs. in 2 weeks. It can be done!

Summary: Thrilled to the BONE
Review: I am carrying around fourteen less pounds of blubber since beginning this way of eating nine weeks ago. I am not starving myself to death either. I look in the mirror and like what I see. I couldn't stand to see myself in the mirror before losing the poundage. Several months ago when my daughter got married I hated the way I looked in the wedding pictures and cut half of myself out of the pictures. I figure I have another fifteen to twenty pounds to go. This time I believe I am going to make it to my goal. Gee, I feel like a different person!

Summary: MISS UNDERSTOOD BY MANY PEOPLE
Review: In many of these reviews I have read.I find many of the carb addicts that did try this diet and failed was because they did not follow the GUIDELINES correctly.One person said they only could eat protin all day and not fiber that is very very wrong .It is protin and fiber in equal amounts.Hello read the BOOK.For myself diet soda is also a trigger for cravings.I have done weight wacthers etc.and always regained the weightI find this diet very good for me something I can stick too without worring about falling off the wagon.

Summary: A Great Start
Review: After reading this book, I am off to a great start of a thinner life. I have lost 10 pounds in three weeks, and I am no longer hungry! I have read the new books by Drs. Heller, and I have made the changes to this original diet, but this book is a wonderful way to start your new low carb life!

Summary: Try the diet the way it really is!
Review: This is a very good diet if you follow the guidelines. I have tried it for 6 days and lost about 2 pounds. There is no starvation, no deprivation, no rapid weight loss or gain. I have to admit there is a bit too much of repetition and testimonials, but never mind that! Look at the diet! You can eat anything you want for dinner, and for the rest of the day you eat low carb foods. Things like beef,chicken,fish,lobster w/butter,cheese,eggs,salads,veggies,shrimp...and much more. For dinner...anything! Now if you want to lose weight eating chocolate, pizza,bread, pop, PLUS sit around all day, YOU WILL NOT LOSE WEIGHT THIS WAY! Of course if you are used to eating junk food all day, and then switch to healthier food, you're going to feel different! It's like not watering a plant for a long time, and then watering a plant and watching it become alive! That's sometimes what we do to ourselves. We don't nourish our bodies with healthy food, and then when we do, it feels strange, and it's hard to adjust to in the beginning. But with this diet, is not like you are going to starve yourself, it's just a different way of eating. A good way. You cant become sick in a couple of days by eating healthier! Try it for a least 2 weeks to view your results. Of course in the first 2 or 4 days is going to be difficult, but it becomes simple,(it's like driving!)Look at Rosie O'Donnel! She's lost 30 pounds on this diet! She's looking great! I believe it works, if you actually do it! Don't expect miracles. Work hard for what you want.

Summary: Full at last!
Review: As other reviewers have stated, this diet only works for somepeople. I used to be hungry all of the time, and eating wouldactually make me MORE hungry. Now, I can eat a big lunch and be FULL for the rest of the day! The book clearly explains where this problem comes from and how to counteract it. I'm steadily losing weight but more importantly I feel better and I can live my life instead of always thinking about food. The book is cheap and you eat normal food, not shakes or expensive diet foods. If you think you might have the problem, it's certainly worth a shot!

Summary: A passing fad!
Review: I tested to be a severe carbo addict and tried the diet for four days. Eating only meat and select vegtables made me feel light headed and sick. I could easily lose weight on this diet because the more I got into it the less I wanted to eat ONLY because it made me nausiated to think of eating some of the foods. My sweet tooth INCREASED because all you are allowed to eat are salty foods. What makes most people succesful on this diet is the fact they are consuming less and eating more veggies. Everyone is looking for the fast and easy way out -- there is none! Since most fat people like me have low self-esteem and little will-power, I'm afraid this too shall pass!

Summary: Hope for the hopeless!
Review: After a (disgusting) week on the Atkins Diet, I have started the CAD diet today. It's been wonderful! I don't have the heavy sick feeling I had with the fat on Atkins, and I have the reward meal to look forward to. Best of all, I have control over my eating habits for the first time in years! I had blood tests done & know that I do have hyperinsulinemia (as they say many overwieghts do). So I have hope that this diet is the one that is going to work for me! :)

Summary: This book would make a good infomercial
Review: The book lacks sufficient scientific evidence for its dieting strategy. However, there are more irritating testimomonials in this book than you would find on even the most tasteless infomercial. The book would make a great marketing case study since it avails the reader to identiy with at least one of the profiles presented in the testimonials. I tried the diet, lost weight (about 5 lbs) and then stopped - eventually gained it back. It is interesting to notet that this book follows basically the same premiss for weight gain (carb addiciton)as several other weight loss books, but htey all come to slightly different conclusions. If this works for you - great, otherwise you need not make it gospel.

Summary: The Carbohydrate Addicts Diet
Review: This book has been extremely helpful in helping to understand food cravings and why we get them. It also helps to figure out what is causing you to eat the way you do. The reward meal is an excellant way to encourage any dieter to stay on the program. No deprivation here. I've been on the diet for two weeks and have more energy now then I've had in years best of all no food cravings either! Yes, and I'm losing weight steadily. Thanks for a wonderful incentive to getting my life back on track!
