Rating: Summary: Opened my eyes Review: Many years ago I was in turmoil and found this book by accident or maybe I should say by fate. The book allowed me to put a name to my constant suffering. This one book helped change my whole path in life and now I do not live in turmoil. Verbal abuse affects the soul in the most deeply painful way. This is a pain that is most difficult to recover from, but with time it can be done. This book is an exit from that pain. The book also teaches the abused to not turn into a potential abuser. I highly recommend any book by Patricia Evans. Thank you.
Rating: Summary: question about the book ? Review: Towards the end of one of my relationships I had experience with this type of abuse. It hurts and this book helped me over come the hurt and pain produced by this type of abuse.
Rating: Summary: "Forgetting" is considered a form of verbal abuse??? Review: This book claims that forgetting is one of the dozen-or-so forms of verbal abuse. Oh PUH-LEEEASE!!! If you internalize all the listed "forms" of verbal abuse mentioned in this book, then just about any kind of discussion or minor argument could be perceived as being verbally abusive. The bottom line is that the author is going a little overboard in this subject.
