Rating: Summary: Very Enlightening & Entertaining Review: I thought this book was both entertaining and enlightening. I recommend it to any woman who is looking for some insight on where & how to meet men :)
Rating: Summary: This Stunk Review: I did not like that this book was all metaphors using a sport that is more geared towards men. I don't fish, how am I supposed to understand the corrolations?
Rating: Summary: Got EM' Hooked! Review: Enjoyed it, and learned a ton. It's like after you see a movie and you remember so much of the details where you keep thinking about it over and over...well that's how "Men are like Fish" was for me. I only read it once cover to cover and can recall all the analogies to fishing and (being a fisherwoman) I related and remembered vividly. Even if you have never fished, the associations are easy to read and comprehend. It made sense, the information was easy to understand and easily applicable. I'm living Steve's advice proudly!
Rating: Summary: Great book Honest advice ^.^ Review: Steve Nakamoto's Men are like Fish is a well written thoughtful book. I found his prespective to be refreshing and genuine. His advice how to empower yourself and enlighten yourself with the men are like fish metaphor allows you to put your worries about the dating world at ease. All of his advice is sincere and allows women to remember that above all love always has a way of suprising you. But ultimately women need to know what they want which then allows them to recieve what they want. This book is wonderful! After getting out of a 4 year relationahip I needed to read a book that was honest, intilligently written, and above reaffirmed I could defintely find love again by loving myself first and not be bitter and enjoy the process all the way.
Rating: Summary: Enjoyable fish tale Review: This is a tongue in cheek guide to love life. The advice is nothing new but we all seem to forget the principals over time.
Makes a good review for those starting over. We all need reminders from time to time.
Rating: Summary: Insightful and humorous Review: This is a down-to-earth book with a lot of good advice, or rather healthy and insightful observations. The book is more focused on self-improvement and how-to-be your very best as well as on what attracts and repels men (though a good number of qualities listed would attract or repel women, too), rather than on specific communication techniques. The suggestions are more general in character with tips on building self-confidence, self-esteem, gauging one's appeal and attractiveness across the board and few extra tips and ideas on where to meet, what may men run in the opposite direction (again, a lot of the things listed would make women run in the opposite direction, too), etc.
Rating: Summary: Stop Wishing and Start Fishing! Review: I actually ordered this book for my 20-year-old daughter, who always tells me that she doesn't know where to find "a good guy". I read it before I gave it to her and I have to say that Steve offers some sincere & practical advice, and, his fishing analogies bring humor to the subject matter. I could have used this book 20 years ago!
Rating: Summary: Two thumbs up... Review: This book is great for women who are really looking for direction about how to catch and hook the man of your dreams. It is very resourceful in offering suggestions on where to go to, how to present yourself, etc. I personally, can attest to what is being said on how men think, feel, and react based on my own interpersonal and non-interpersonal relationships, and dealing with men. If you want to know how to fish, and catch the "BIG ONE", this book serves as a great manual.
Rating: Summary: Throw this one back! Review: It's not a keeper. The only thing this book doesn't ask you to do is bring the man his slippers. Perhaps it would if the idiotic analogy would only allow fish to have feet. The author's choice of a fishing analogy only shows how out-of-touch he is with real women, and for that matter, men of today. Buy it if you are stuck in a 50's time warp and don't mind being a sucker minnow.
Rating: Summary: Read Alexander the Great's Art of Strategy for knowing men Review: If you want to know how a man's mind and ambitions work, read "Alexander the Great's Art of Strategy." If you are a mother, wife, lover, daughter, friend, mistress, no book will give you a better sense as to the working of the powerful man's mind than this book.
