Rating: Summary: Helpful and sincere! Review: Rhonda Britten does an amazing job at making us understand how fear rules over much of our lives. I could relate to many stories of different people in the book and this helped tremendously in understanding what my fears were and what they were doing to me. I felt like, "That's me! That's exactly what I do!" The book also has some great exercises to help us break out of our fears. I am trying some of them and although I just started recently, they seem to be quite helpful. Only time will tell if this will work in the long run. Regardless, this is an excellent book that can be helpful to anyone ready to face their fears. If you are ready, "The Ever-Transcending Spirit" by Toru Sato is also a fantastic book to help us understand where these fears come from, how they affect us, and how we transcend those fears. If you are ready to take responsibility for both your own happiness and unhappiness, go for these books!
Rating: Summary: Shouting FEARLESSLY From the Rafters! Review: Rhonda Britten will be the next Household word. I guarantee it. Her new book, Fearless Living is one of the few clear and direct voices I have seen in years. The topic is simple: learning to face our fears and discover and enjoy more of life. The method to get there is the adventure. Reading the book will provide many opportunities to jump into exercises; take them all. They are well worth the ride. Rhonda is a living demonstration you can do anything you put your mind to. I am inspired! Thank you!
Rating: Summary: Hooray for Fearbuster Teams! Review: Rhonda Britten's book, Fearless Living, recently crossed my path at the perfect time, after I have just moved to a new community. Although I have been excited about starting this new phase of my life, I've also been worrying (having fears) about how well I will handle all the changes. After reading in the book about fears when taking risks, I now understand that 'risk' can be defined as 'stepping into the unknown' and it's natural to feel fear when doing something new and unfamiliar. Even positive changes can be stressful. Fearless Living is all about doing something to counteract fearful thoughts and feelings that arise, and to support ourselves in the process. I love Rhonda's Fearbuster Team idea! Following the guidelines in the book, I plan to start a Fearbuster support group with new friends in this area. The book offers numerous down to earth suggestions and exercises, yet it tells it like it is. If we let our fears run us around, they become self fulfilling prophecies. And, as we commit ourselves to taking the simplest steps forward, we are living our Fearless Path and enjoying a lot more energy and satisfaction along the way!
Rating: Summary: Sandra in PA Review: Rhonda's book in amazing! Her story touches your heart and helps you know that you too can overcome anything. Her Wheel of Fear truly helps you understands yourself so much better. Helps you see what was blocking you from accomplishing so many things. I just can't say enough how this book has helped me identify and fix so many things in my life that needed it. Thank you Rhonda! I certainly will be looking forward to reading more of your work!
Rating: Summary: Practical guidance from an infinitely credible source. Review: Someone once said, "Fear is the only thing that gets smaller as you approach it." Rhonda Britten's first book is a top-notch guide to not only approaching fear, but also to understanding our relationship to fear in a whole new way.(I don't think most of us will ever be "rid of fear," but we can learn how to tell it to sit down and shut up.) As a psychotherapist, as an author, and mostly as a human being with fear, I always appreciate someone who is willing to be this honest with me. Fearless Living is the book for you especially if you like a clear frame of reference, and tangible direction toward accomplishing your goals. Last but not least, this young woman knows of what she speaks. Listen to her.
Rating: Summary: Fearless Living lives up to its promises Review: The great thing about this book is that the author has taken concepts and ideas from counseling and psychotherapy and the human potential movement, found the best of them and presents them in a form anyone can understand and use. Her own struggles provide the background to see just how successful you can be with her ideas. After seeing her mother murdered and her father commit suicide, she worked long and hard, first at denying her own self-worth and then finding it aqain. I know whereof I speak. Not only am I a psychotherapist, I am also Rhonda's cousin. While this obviously makes me somewhat biased in this review, I can say that I've seen the growth and the power that this woman has in her life, she's onto something and wants to share it with the world. Find a copy of the book, use the ideas in it (even just one or two) and see how things can change. I know the principles are founded in good psychology, I also know personally how transforming they are, seeing them play out in the life of my cousin. Her life is going places and she invites all her readers to come with her!
Rating: Summary: A book like no other! Review: This book is only for the brave at heart. I say this because Rhonda is serious about the reader getting in the face of fear and calling its bluff. That is no easy task. Read with that awareness and the desire to hear her out. She's honest and you can sense her vulnerability. You will discover things about yourself that you never knew...all good. She helps you see how sneeky fear really is and how it controls your every waking moment, practically. And, she shows you how to master it! If you want to not only survive, but thrive, then this book is for you! If you are tired of being confused, doubtful, self-critical, self-destructive, timid about making decisions, and just generally being leary of taking any risks, then Rhonda is the best coach for you. I'm on my second reading, so read it a few times. P.S. Have plenty of kleenex close at hand...you will cry, and if you don't, you're not really understanding the book.
Rating: Summary: Fearless Living Review: This book was a gift from a dear friend and with it came the power to change my life. I didn't how much I needed Rhonda's program until I read it. This is incredible, path-altering information and Rhonda delivers it in an easy to grasp format that anyone can use. Wonderful book for anyone who has ever felt intimidated by life's challenges - whether in relationships, business, or...?
Rating: Summary: I love this book!!! Review: This work took me from a self-help junking to a woman taking full responsibility for her life. Every chapter provides great tools that move me forward. Chapter 6, No Expectations, is my favorite. For me, it is the foundation of Rhonda's work. I love this work!!!
