Summary: The best book on yoga I've read.
Review: This book was down-to-earth, written in easy, conversational tone for modern, western readers. I felt it demystified yogic concepts, accurately decribed the meaning and essence of yoga, and accurately described what Kundalini is and what the experience of Kundalini rising is.

Summary: The Five Tibetans: Five Dynamic Exercises for Health,
Review: UPDATE 1/10/2000: I have been doing these excercises since April of 1998. I will be 50 next summer and since I have been doing the Five Tibetans my health and well being is the best its been since I've been in my 30's. No more bad back, bum knee, arthritic shoulder is a thing of the past. My all round strength is great. Even my cardiovascular fitness is so much better. I can't began to say enough about the Five Tibetans and the new found youthful ability to do outdoor activities I haven't been able to do for some time. I truly feel in my 30's. Summary: FOUR Tibetans
Review: You don't like the spinning exercise? Okay, so skip it, as the purpose is to increase your heart rate, which you can do with other aerobic activities, take your pick. Don't like New Age mumbo-jumbo? Okay, so skip that too.

What I practice (age 52, very non-athletic) is the other four Tibetans. What is special about these is that they are very controllable and "feel safe" for a beginner like me. Gradually you feel the improvement in suppleness, without pushing it. Maybe I'll go back and pick up the spinning exercise later.
