Summary: A tool to lean on through our self healing journey
Review: Thanks to Louise for showing me there is a way to learn to live a life that is simple and full of joy!
I had been a prisoner of the trap "when ... then I'll be happy or I'll love myself" only to learn that the it works the other way around and that the answers I was seeking are already within me if only I am willing to listen to myself!
It has helped me a lot to know I am not alone in my healing and growing journey. I send lots of love and appreciation to Louise!

Summary: Excellent tool for self-improvement
Review: Mention "affirmations", and some people may immediately see images of SNL's Al Franken as Stuart Smalley ("I'm good enough, I'm smart enough, and gosh darn-it, people like me!"). While the thought of using daily affirmations for self-improvement may seem weird or make you feel a tad uncomfortable, they certainly do work.

Louise Hay has given us the gift of self-love. Too many people berate themselves- perhaps they can't quit smoking, or can never seem to stick to a diet or lose weight. Whether it's a tempest-like upbringing or just plain lack of self-esteem, Louise Hay helps us to understand just how important it is to not only love ourselves, but forgive and accept our flaws when we're less than perfect. Her book goes into testimonials of people she's helped, and also has a wonderful alphabetical list of ailments (from "abdominal cramps" to "yeast infections")and the correct affirmation to use that can help aid that particular ailment. My Mom is a health kinesiologist and uses Louise Hay's book and the affirmations as emotional "homework" to do. EG: I had, yet again, gotten mastitis (breast infection sometimes developed during breastfeeding) for the 3rd time. In Hay's book, mastitis is realted to mothering everyone else but yourself. The corresponding affirmation is "I am important. I count. I now care for and nourish myself with love and with joy." After 3 days of doing this affirmation, the mastitis cleared up on it's own- no antibiotics required. So obviously, I am a loyal fan of affirmations. Give it a go- what have you got to lose?

Summary: Bravo! Bravo! Bravoooo!
Review: OK, well, I know some day I will read books that are not "thinkers" but for now, I like books that help you change for the better. Louise is a wonderful person who has found her heart by listening to it. She can truly help the blackest of souls belive in change for the better and this book is her most colorful way to prove it. The book is a bit startling in color, which makes it not a great gift idea for my male counterparts...but they will just have to deal with it. Its a wonderful book and really acknowledges the challenge in self-truth and helps you to be able to ride it out and break the addictions that this unhealthy world can offer. I would recommend this book to people who are into self-help and also those who appreciate the metaphysical realm of thinking! Louise is Great!!!

Summary: Highly Recommended
Review: I have given this book as gifts to 2 friends battling cancer. Louise Hay's book "You Can Heal Your Life" is extremely encouraging! She helps you to see how much our thoughts are connected to our state of health. It could possibly open the door for many people to a new way of seeing themselves and how they see the world around them.

Summary: Say "I love you!" to yourself every day and....
Review: you'll start believing it some day. This causes a reaction on the outside, because you will start to show selfconfidence and love etc. That's the message of this book, well maybe more of the sequal Life!, because this one (You can heal your life) is more based on your physical features. What I mean is that your body gives signs when you don't care enough about yourself, for example if you have breathing problems: you are afraid of sucking up life in to you etc. Let's sum it all up to this; Just say you are not afraid etc. to yourself frequently and pay attention to your physical health and you'll be fine, so don't buy the book, but go to the library.

Summary: A Must-have Book
Review: This book has helped me tremendously in my triangular love relationship. I was deeply depressed because my girl-friend, who is the person I love most in my life, has been torn between me and another man. But now with the sound advice of this book, I am confident and sure that I am worthy of becoming her husband right now.

Summary: The Book Keeps Its Promise to Heal Your Life!
Review: I'm 48, and have been looking for this book my whole life!
I, like many others, including the author, had a horrible childhood. I had parents who basically ignored me or appeared to hate me. There was emotional abuse and alcoholism. I have been struggling to pull my life together my entire adulthood, and have failed.

I've read a lot of self-help books, and I watch Oprah. I've been to a couple of therapists, who never used the word worthy or really focused on the problem. Until recently, I didn't even know that my failure in life was due to feeling unworthy!

There are a lot of books out there, but how many actually tell you HOW TO FEEL WORTHY? I believe that low feelings of self-worth are possibly the cause of much chronic depression and lethargy. And yet, so many books do not address this problem. I also believe many people are in therapy for decades for the sole purpose of trying to feel worthy.

This book's sole purpose is to heal your life, and help you to feel worthy. I have only read about 1/3 of the book so far, and already I see changes.

Ms. Hay helps you change how you feel about yourself with positive affirmations, in a certain order, building upon one another. Seem too simple? Let me tell you, it works! It is very much like cognitive therapy (addressing what your inner thoughts are), but for me, much more effective, because of the affirmations.

She also writes the book with great warmth and wisdom - there is nothing clinical about it. Reading this book is like jumping in a pool of warm fragrant water, and letting the words just run all over you. There is great compassion and warmth in this book. It is as if a great sage is speaking, with love bursting out all over the place.

Not only that, the book itself is healing just to look at! I have never seen such a beautiful book - every page is a color that is a feast for the eyes, with gorgeous subtle art work. The type is beautiful too. Any book on healing SHOULD look like this!

Summary: Keep an Open Mind when reading this book
Review: It's good to keep an open mind when reading this book. As Ms. Hay delves into the spiritual so born again's may not appreciate it. Lot's of good info, if you can get past some of her beliefs that you may not share.

Still in all, it seems to be a positive book with good intent.
