Summary: Thank you, Louise!
Review: I really shouldn't even write a review of this book or of Louise Hay, for I am extremely biased. Biased in the fact that she and her writings literally saved my life. People often say that something "completely changed their life" and while it sounds cliche here to say that, it's exactly what happened. I can't begin to describe to you the power of positive affirmations. I literally went from sleeping on someone's livingroom floor and earning just above minimum wage, to owning my own home (7 bedrooms, thank you) and a large steady income. Not to mention health, happiness, an perfect mate, and everything in between. This book is easy to read, easy to follow and a great motivator. Do yourself a favor and buy several copies, because you'll want to give them out as gifts. I just can't say enough about Louise and how she has changed my life and the lives of others. Thank you, Louise--you're a treasure.

Also recommended: A Child Called It, Bark of the Dogwood, A Man Called Dave

Summary: It is OK but not deep enough, it doesn't convince
Review: I have been interested in the inner power to heal yourself for many years, I have attendend to "Course of Miracles" kind of semminars. Recently I moved to a country where you don't hear about this kind of things and I needed suport and particularly detailed guidance to heal a couple of new things that I experienced after I reached the new Country. I bought the book with the hope I would be able to heal myself, that I would find the answer I needed, but the book is too shallow for that, it goes around the bush. It is better to buy the small one that has the list of all the diseases "Heal your body". For a deep reading I recommend the book "Anatomy of the Spirit" by Caroline Myss.

Summary: Profiting from False Healing
Review: This book is actually promoting occult practices. Louise L. Hays website is full of occult books and ideas. Louise actively promotes New Age Atheism. Such as The Worship of False gods and goddesses, Astrology, Channeling and Tarot cards.

Although true in a few areas. One can worry too much and get an ulcer. Many ulcers are due to bacterial infections. Many cancers and diseases are caused by Genetic Defects at Birth, such as Hemophilia and Muscular Dystrophy. Some Illnesses are caused by the way we choose to live our lives, such as smoking causing Lung Cancer.

This book denies the existence of the Christian GOD and promotes the god or goddess within. This is nothing more than wishful thinking.

Many people such as gay folks who are dying of AIDS who are desperate for a cure are buying this book with the false hope they can simply "wish" away thier disease.

Summary: I'll never sell my copy on Amazon.com!!!
Review: This book is one of a kind!! I have been dealing with a messy divorce, custody battle and all the ups & downs that go along with it (plus trying to work in a stressful environment throughout the long ordeal). I came across this book by chance and it has become my "bible!" I am just an ordinary, everyday person trying to get through a crisis and learn to deal with stress and a poor self-image. This book has made the difference between MAKING IT or not!! Thanks, Louise !! You are brilliant and pulled me out of a hole I thought I had fallen into!

Summary: My favorite.
Review: This is one of my all time favorites. The book covers so many topics: relationships, finances, sex, health. For years I have referred to this book depending on issues I am currently dealing with. Louise deals from her personal and clientele's experience. A must have for someone who is desiring to become a better/stronger individual.

Summary: Pretty Colorful
Review: Louise Hay is a great writer. She pulls you right in and helps you almost immediately. But she's gotta share the spotlight with 2 other writers: Florence Scovel Schinn and Shakti Gawain for their obvious contributions to her transformation. Florence was around 100 years ago and quoted the bible in her book - The Game Of Life & How To Play It; Shakti's book - Creative Visualization - is almost word for word what Louise writes, except Louise is long-winded. It just would have been nice if Ms. Hay credited them. Check out all 3 authors. All their books are simply life-changing.

Summary: THIS BOOK CHANGED MY LIFE
Review: I know my story is going to sound like a joke, but here it is: I was working at a job that was substantially below my skill level, with the boss from hell. On top of that, I was overweight, feeling miserable, and well...my life was just not what I had hoped for. THEN, I read this book (May of 1999). It took a while, but slowly but surely my life started to change. At first, I thought the changes were in my mind, but within two weeks, I started to realize that I was thinking differently, and things just started to turn around. The affirmations are just so very powerful --- it is just amazing! Within a few months I lost the extra weight (36 pounds), and I look substantially younger. On top of that, within one year, I got my dream job, with the dream salary (my salary doubled). My friends, and family started to comment about the fantastic turn of events in my life. They are in awe! I do my affirmations every night before I go to bed. Some people have camomille tea before they go to bed, I do my affirmations. Give this book a try you have nothing to lose, and EVERYTHING to gain.
