Rating: Summary: complicated Review: This is an ok book, but if you are looking for a simple routine and easy answers you won't find it here. This book is very indepth and detailed. I would recommend this book to someone who wants to know all the details and really get into exercise.
Rating: Summary: Not what I was expecting Review: With a title like the "Body Sculpting Bible," I was expecting a comprehensive guide to exercise for women. I was greatly disappointed. The book is long on exercises and short on information. It breezes through most of the meat and potatoes of training without going indepth. There really was nothing presented that anyone who reads a few fitness magazines wouldn't know. It did have a lot exercise descriptions that were okay, hence the rating of 2 stars instead of 1. Still, this isn't enough to make a good book so I returned it.
Rating: Summary: Great book for women seeking a toned and shapely figure Review: After watching women build their bodies in ways similar to men, I am relieved to see a book that focusses only on the woman's shape. Our needs and body sculpting preferences are different than a man's so we need to train differently. I am starting the third week of the program and already see dramatic results.
Rating: Summary: great postpartum workout Review: This is a great way to get back into a healthy lifestyle after pregnancy. Don't start until baby is at least 8 weeks old and then be gentle on yourself. I found the break-in workout in this book to be simple, efficient, and still challenging. I feel energized and definitely worked out after the routines. They are about 20 minutes long- about as long as my toddler is entertained by cartoons and my baby will sleep in the swing. I can also stop and start again later if I need to change a diaper or nurse a babe. The nutritional info is reasonable- cut fat, sugar, eat smaller portions, and make very healthy food choices (no empty calories). You can choose for yourself how in depth you really want to go with the dieting. If nursing, hold off for about 6 months on dieting and stick with incredibly healthy choices. I like "Definition" by Joyce Vedral, PhD for additional pictures of exercises using only dumbbells. I use it to supplement the info in "The Body Sculpting Bible for Women" However, her workouts are too intense for me right now. I checked out many workout books from the library before deciding on the Body Sculpting Bible. It seemed to be the best overall for my lifestyle and fitness goals.
Rating: Summary: Thank you for my new body Review: My name is Stacy Stoll, I bought this book a couple of months ago seeing it in my local book store. I have been working out for about 1 year now, every other day, waking up each morning looking for new results and finding none. I used to be a very heavy girl, and have lost weight, but could not loose any more when I reach a certain point. Still not being where I wanted to be! I was very depressed and started to do some research and came across this mircle book "The Sculpting Bible for Women". I read the book fully then started my 14 day program. The book was written so great that I understood more then ever. The pictures in the book showing me that I was doing everything wrong in the past. I now have a great diet and great form while working out. I am so proud to say that today I am in a mini skirt and a tank top. I am tone and have more energy then I ever thought possible. Thank you so much Mr. Villepigue and Mr. Hugo, thank you for a life that I have always drempt of. The two of you have changed my life 100% and I just love it. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!! When is the next book coming out?
Rating: Summary: Incredible! Review: I looked through all the reviews here too...and I have to say this book is WONDERFUL! I am pretty new at all of this. And like so many people new to the health industry, it can be really confusing. I went through this book with no problem! I keep it by my side all day long. I consult it for proper form, and nutrition. I find the exercise programs that are set up in the book are well balanced and don't leave me feeling lost. I didn't need to go out and buy a ton of new exercise tools. I simply dusted off what I already had. (And frankly after reading all the reviews...who really cares about the spelling and grammar mistakes!!) I wasn't intimidated by this book. I wasn't lost. I WAS/AM empowered. I WAS/AM excited. I finally feel as if I have THE tool to help me take control of all that I need to achieve my goals.
Rating: Summary: SAVE YOUR MONEY!!! Review: I can't believe this book was ever published. It is poorly written with tons of spelling and grammatical errors. The info is very outdated with stuff that went out in the 80's. Many innacuracies in exercise technique. The nutrition plan is designed by someone (the author?) with no comprehension of nutrition. Even the paper that it's printed on is cheap! A real mess.
Rating: Summary: Awesome, From Heavy to Fit. Review: This book is awesome! If you follow the nutrition plan and do the workouts everyday as the book says, you will see those results. I am heavy and need to lose weight and tone down. And this book is the key. When following the 14-day sculpting plan and doing as says, you to will reach your goal. Results come, with dedication and heart you will do it with this book.In a matter of a few weeks you start to see changes, physically, nutritionally, mentally. Thanks James and Hugo. A+. Ladies, this is our book.
Rating: Summary: The One that Works Review: I have been working out and eating according to this book's plan for about six weeks now and I am very pleased with the results. I have been weight training for several months and I have tried many plans that I considered unsuccessful, but this one is motivating and effective. I saw positive changes in my body after only a couple of weeks. I work out strictly at home; I have a very basic weight bench with a barbell and several dumbbells. I have no problem using the workouts with this basic equipment. I find the two-week "cycling" of workouts and diet both refreshing and effective. I will be able to continually progress using these workouts as I get stronger. The descriptions of the exercise techniques are the most detailed that I have ever found in a workout book. And I e-mailed the authors with a couple of questions and received a prompt, detailed and helpful reply. I cannot praise this book enough!
Rating: Summary: This book will change your body!! Review: I love this book because it deals with all aspects of getting in shape, including mentally. If you are not prepared mentally your work out will not be as efficient as it should be. I learned a lot about the supplements to take along with the weights and time. I also like the fact that it takes one hour a day to get into shape. I have been to the gym 3 weeks now and my body has already changed. My eating habits are much better and I now belong to a nutrition store. I recommend this book to anyone who wants to make a change in their life and body. Buy this book NOW!!!
