Rating: Summary: simply, sex Review: bold and witty, this hefty tome is a stellar discussion of what to do and how to do it for total mind/body fulfillment. the world would be a much happier place if "getting it on" was required reading in high school sex ed. (esp. with the handy diagrams for beginners and the uninformed.)this guide unabashedly and responsibly emphasizes sexual stimulation, satisfaction, and safety -- with a healthy dose of clever humor thrown in. just peruse the glossary for a quick laugh. would have expected some more information on same-gender sex and fetishes/fantasies -- but coming in at 700 pages already, i can see where those topics are for another book. if nothing else, "getting it on" is impetus and inspiration to initiate sexual communication for mutual enjoyment. personally, while i've never considered myself a slacker in the sack, i bought this book with a new boyfriend -- to very satisfying results following a shared (and oft-interrupted) read on a snowy vermont sunday. highly suggest other readers employ the joy of pop quizzes, (still something to sweat over!).
Rating: Summary: On Every Bedside Table Review: A MUST read! It's filled full with pertinent information, honest issues and concerns, and wit that will constantly keep you laughing. It's written in a fashion that is highly humane as well as informative. I've lent this book to several friends, who in turn, have agreed that this is one of the greatest (and most humorous) guides to sex.
Rating: Summary: Best Sex Guide Ever Review: Guide To Getting It On by Paul Joannides and illustrated capriciously by Daerick Gross Sr. is referred to as the coolest and most informative sex guide in the Universe! With nearly 800 pages it certainly must be the most complete! If you like Sex In the City TV Show this is the guide for you. It is written in the contemporary vernacular, straight-forward, using slang instead of medical terminology. It is definitely aimed at readers under fifty, but older ones (if not offended by the slang and illustrations) will learn a lot also. The book explains in detail and plain talk everything parents didn't dare tell! And if you order it, it is discretely sent in a plain wrapper so even the postman doesn't know!
Rating: Summary: helping prudes everywhere -pardon the pun- open up Review: This book is just awesome! Just read all the other 5 star reviews & you'll get a picture of how helpful this guide is. My take on it? Just read the subject line of my review. It truly is the universe's coolest and most informative book about sex.
Rating: Summary: great guide to developing intimacy, not just technique Review: First I have to say I read this book several years ago then loaned it to a friend who "lost it", so my thoughts about it are not based on a fresh read. However, after having read everything about sex I could ever get my hands on, from How Babies are Made to hot scenes in novels to The Joys of Oral Sex to Kama Sutra to Gray's Anatomy, I gushed over this book to all of my friends. It was a fabulous read, light-hearted and entertaining.
What I enjoyed the most was the emphasis on communication with one's partner. I've been with men who seem to memorize technique, and no matter how good they are at operations, the sexual pleasure never approaches the ecstasy of being with someone who knows how to be creative, playful and attentive to his (or her) partner. That is what this book is all about - cultivating those aspects of sex. It does have a few delightful tips on methodology here and there, and some fun and very well done illustrations, but the goal seems to be to bring a sense of wonder and openness to the bedroom. If you are looking for Sex Techniques 101, keep shopping. If you want ideas on how to create a safe, fun, creative environment for sexual exploration, BUY IT!
Rating: Summary: Awesome book Review: This is a must-have book. It's huge, filled with tons of great information. Lots of cool sexual techniques and tips. You will not be disappointed.
Rating: Summary: Should be made compulsory reading for every couple Review: What a book! If you want to to truly please your partner, and have fun in the process, read it. Paul Joannides is living testimony to the fact that the only sin is not loving well.
Rating: Summary: Simply must have it Review: Once again, I purchased this book based on the title, but this time, I liked it. The book is well-written and the methods, advice and suggestions were well-researched and I felt it would be very helpful to those in search of answers to the many questions they might have surrounding SEX !!!
