Summary: What your doctor may not tell you about menopause
Review: The book is fantastic, it has changed my life and my body. I actually met Dr. Lee last month and got to chat with him. He is brilliant and cares very deeply about the work he does on behalf of all women. It is an absolute must read book for women of all ages. Not only that, but you must follow his advice. You will not believe the greater quality of life that will result. A life without pain, moodiness, bloating, and all of the other monthly signs of being a woman. There are many other long term benefits in addition to this. Read this book not just for yourself but for your mother, daughter, niece, husband and anyone else you know and love.

Summary: A necessity in every woman's library.
Review: I find it "interesting" that there has to be a book tellingus that our doctors aren't telling us all of the options. I sufferedfrom all of those perimenopausal symptoms - just ask my family! Itried progesterone and got so depressed I couldn't function in day today life. Upon discovering this book, I sought out the alternattivesfrom my favorite vitamin and herbal site,...and decided to tryblack cohosh, red clover and wild yam gel. I'm back to the good oleme - just ask my family! I'm not growing hair in weird places, my sexdrive is back, my skin tone is better...We are in the new milleniumand it is time we all owned this book...

Summary: For Every Women... to Inform herself!
Review: Information, too many things are done in our lives without all the FACTS. Dr. Lee shows us the Studies, the Facts on current Drugs that even their well meaning doctors haven't studied yet. He gives information on all aspects of womens health, from diet to hormones, all the tiny little bits of help that our own doctors never seem to have time to inform us about. I found this book wonderfully helpful. 3 1/2 years ago I was told I would make it to menopause with out a Hysterectomy. At the time I was in such agony I would have agreed to anything right then & there, but fate interceded giving me time for research... I found Dr. Lee! I have been blessed with the good fortune of going to one of Dr. Lee's Seminars...WOW.

Summary: This book saved my sanity
Review: I read this book after my 2nd miscarriage. As soon as I started using the natural progesterone it made a HUGE difference in my cycles. When we decided to try and get pregnant again, things went much more smoothly. We now have a beautiful 6-month old baby boy - and I credit Dr. Lee and his information with helping that to happen.

Summary: Feeling good again at last
Review: AT the age of 50, I was hit hard with menopause-related symptoms including night sweats, headaches, vaginal drying causing burning and itching; depression with spells of uncontrollable weeping. I was very concerned about the increased risks of breast and uterine cancer associated with HRT. A nurse referred me to this book. After four months of using natural progesterone cream, all symptoms have completely vanished. This is MUST reading for every woman over thirty! Thank you Dr. Lee and Ms. Hopkins.

Summary: Reassuring tone can't mask flawed science
Review: While the tone of this book is, no doubt, reassuring to many women who feel triviliazed, ignored and misunderstood by their own doctors. the science on which it purports to be based is deeply flawed. If the authors are as well-intentioned as they seem to be, it is a pity that they didn't do their homework better, and that they have allowed their book to become the engine that drives an entire on-line industry of modern-day snake-oil peddlers who exaggerate Lee's claims even further in their quest for the fast buck.

Progesterone certainly has a role to play in women's well-being, particularly during their reproductive years. It is not, however, a risk-free panacea for everything that ails us at midlife. Wise consumers will seek many sources of information before deciding to embark on any drug regimen, "natural" or otherwise.

Summary: Lots of valuable information, but terrible index
Review: This book contains a wealth of information, and could be a very valuable reference. But essential to any reference is a complete index, for quick accessibility. Unfortunately this book has a terribly inadequate index, making a good deal of the material hopelessly difficult to find initially or reexamine. Example: I was interested in learning what had been written about soy and its relationship to estrogen, but was surprised, given the enormous recent interest in the nutritional values of soy products, to find no listing in the index. I was even more surprised to discover there were several references to and indeed a discussion of soy, containing personally valuable caveats, in the chapter on nutrition. This I found to be true of a number of other specific subjects, some of which were also discussed in the text, others that may well have been covered, but I gave up trying to find. For a book with such a very large number of concepts and facts, this is a very serious deficiency, rendering the book, for me, virtually useless. (Memory problems are ironically symptomtic of menopause). A quick perusal of the bibliography made me wonder about its adequacy too.

Summary: Excellent reference about menopause!
Review: This book is a wonderful blend of medical information written in a manner that a layperson can understand. Everything was presented in a logical progression with information about alternative therapies with recommendations for purchasing the best products. In the back is a technical section for those able to understand the more detailed chemical/hormonal interactions. It answers the questions about the whys and why-not-tos of hormone therapy. A must have text, especially for those having problems with estrogen therapy.
