Summary: Should be mandatory reading for every woman over 40
Review: This book changed my life. When my doctor took away my prempro, I was miserable. Hot flashes, night sweats, mood swings, frequent heartburn, depression, lack of energy, all were making life less than good. After reading the book and using the progesterone cream as directed, I was a new woman. Thank you, Dr. Mary Glass for recommending it and thank you, Dr. Lee for the most helpful book I've ever read (and I've read a lot!).

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Previous reviewer should read the book!
Review: The reviewer who stated that Dr. Lee should revisit his recommendation regarding progesterone, should actually read the book. Dr. Lee explains why synthetic progesterone (progestins) should not be used. He recommends natural progesterone. The studies that say estrogen paired with progestin can cause tumor growth and mask the tumors do not mention natural progesterone.

Summary: Is this book still filled with good advice?
Review: The recently stopped study of the effects of estrogen and progesterone (showing an increase in heart attacks, strokes, dementia and cancers) leaves me wondering whether or not the advice in this book is still sound. Estrogen alone did not show the increased risks leaving us to conclude progesterone was the culprit. These results were unknown when Dr. Lee wrote this book, but now I am wondering whether or not it should be mandatory for Dr. Lee to address these concerns before women start using this progesterone cream he advocates.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A MUST read book for every woman!
Review: Especially women over 35. Dr Lee clearly explains how we are exposed from infancy on, to chemicals that mimic estrogen. This exposure causes multiple problems that women in non-industrialized countries do not suffer. Few doctors receive any training about natural methods to counteract this exposure which work better and without side effects of conventional drug therapy. He states that even "medical journals are...thinly disguised advertising" for the drug companies.
The auther is a retired doctor with over 30 years in family practice and often refers to his experiences.
If, you want to take charge of you health, this book is a good way to get started. I highly recomend it.

Summary: Very Helpful
Review: I was having night sweats and did not want to get medication from a doctor. I wanted to do something that was natural and not harmful to my body. I highly recommend this book, because I did what it said and got the serum from the health food store and it completely stopped the night sweats. You can purchase it in a cream or serum formula. I rub it on my skin once a day and you would not believe the change. I highly recommend this book. It gives a lot of information on Menopause and what you can do naturally for the symptoms. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK!!!!

Summary: Good book
Review: Informative book to read. Be careful about using too much progesterine cream though as it can cause stomach disturbances. This is found in the book but you usually don't notice it right away. You only notice how he says it will only make you sleepy. If you look more you'll find it by another doctor who contributed to the book. I was using what I thought was a little, about one third. I guess it was too much, so I stopped. He says you may only need one eighth of a teaspoon, which is almost nothing.

Summary: What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Menopause:
Review: This book helped 'changed' my life. I am a new woman at 55+ and wish i had known ALL he says in this book at 15 y.o. for i would not have had to suffer all these years with hormone and thyroid imbalance as i did.
I am 'living proof' now after 2 yrs of natural progesterone cream working for me as it has. I feel GGGRRREEAT!!
Thanks Dr. John Lee for writing this book and being ahead of your time in knowing and believing Natural Progesterone helps women with hormone imbalance, while most other Drs were handing out pregnant mares urine pills and chemical hormones.

Summary: Don't waste another day, get this book!
Review: I'm forever in the debt of the female co-worker who told me about this book. I have a family history of breast cancer, so was leary of HRT, but was rapidly concluding I didn't have any alternative because I couldn't handle the changes as I approached menopause, and soy isoflavones weren't helping at all. After reading this book, I understood that I was making estrogen dominance (and my symptoms) worse with the soy, so I discontinued it and started using one of the recommended progesterone creams. Today the night sweats and hot flashes are gone (no more "personal summer"), my moods are more level, my periods have returned to "normal" (yes, I still have them), and my significant other is a much happier man because I'm ME again. Don't waste another minute, get this book today!

Summary: Made Me Feel Twenty Years Younger! A MUST READ!!
Review: This book is fantastic. If you read it, you will truly know more about menopause than your doctor. I thought I was going crazy....in my forties, I walked into rooms or stores forgetting why I had come into them in the first place. I felt like my brain was sitting somewhere off in space 8 feet from my body. I was so fuzzy, I couldn't imagine how I would function at all in my 50's, let alone my 60's or 70's. I read this book, tried his suggestions, and within 3 days my brain was back in my body. Now I can again go to stores without lists and remember everything I wanted to get. Made me feel 20 years younger.

Summary: A must for every women's book shelf.
Review: When my wife became menopausal, she had some symptoms which her doctor treated with a pharmaceutical product. There were no tests to check her for hormone levels in her body. I heard about this book, and helped her through the process that led to her seeing an Alternative physician who prescribed a compounding formulation of natural hormones. The book educated her so she can ask sensible questions of her physican. A valuable "text" for the lay person, and a valuable reference.
