Review: I've ordered this book because of the many very good reviews it got right here at Amazon. And they are absolutely right. It's written in plain English and it's easy to follow the steps. And just look at all the transformations! Not only from celebs like Julia Roberts and Demi Moore, but also from his sister and other 'normal' people. I would recommend this book to everyone who is interested in makeup.

Summary: Absolutely Fabulous!
Review: Kevyn's voice in this book is so nice and not condescending, that half the fun was just reading his anecdotes. The transformations he effects on people are amazing, just look at the pages with his sister Carla!The looks presented toward the end are just amazing, the people are mostly unrecognizable, but the first part talks about make-up for you and me. Do you want to spotlight your eyes? Try the Julia Roberts smoky look, I did and amazed myself! I also like that Kevyn doesn't use brand names or specific shades, I can't afford $50 eyeshadow, so I have to work with what I can, or with a shade that I prefer, and he allows for that. It's all about your choices and what you want to do. And that teacher's note at the end is so sweet....

Review: I loved this book. It allows you to create these fabulous looks that you wouldn't ordinarily think of . the pictures alone are a wonderful reason for buying this book , I've never seen such beautiful and creative ways of using make up , hair, clothes and photography together. I have tried some of these looks and have done alright but I am left with the conclusion that Kevyn Aucoin is deffinetly the man with the golden brush.

Summary: Making Beautiful Faces
Review: Once my friend posed this famous question to me: "If you could meet anyone in the world, who would you meet?" My (almost immediate) answer to her question was "Kevyn Aucoin!" she asked me why, and I said, because he makes everybody feel beautiful. And its true! Proof: see the book. I must admit, I truly believe that the purpose of this book was not to demonstrate the art of applying fake eyelashes, etc, etc, but to show and prove to the world that everybody is beautiful. Of course, it can't hurt being already gorgeous like some of the models featured in this book, but some of the "quirky" looking faces that I would never really give a second glance turned out (with the magic touch of Kevyn's hand) to be the most beautiful faces I have ever seen. Kevyn truly has a gift for bringing out the inner beauty of even plain looking faces. He could transform the most hideous beasts on this planet to beautiful looking creatures. In short, buying this book to feast on all the helpful beauty tricks will be worth the money, but to read and explore the book and to truly contemplate the magic of inner beauty and to come to the realization that everybody in the world is beautiful (including you)! is worth all the money in the world. Read this book when you have an ugly day: and prepare to feel beautiful for the rest of your life.

Review: Not really what you would call a resource or manual...but, very pretty and nicely put together. It's a show book, more than anything...not really a technique tool. His talent is clear, but this isn't on the same par as say Bobbi Brown's book. He's a wonderful artist and his book represents that. A nice addition to a photography/coffee table selection.

Review: Kevyn Aucoyn is a wonderful, talented artist and an incredible human being-and this is a lovely collection of "made over" celebrities who (like so many of us)also adore Kevyn. Not a practical book for the "day to day" looks you can quickly use as you rush out of the house. Buy it for the celeb pics (and keep it on your coffee table or in the bathroom)-and get Bobbi Brown's book for real life make up tips.

Summary: Artistic Wonder
Review: I am only fifteen years old, but I have a great love for art and also makeup. A friend of mine showed me this book, and I immediately fell in love. I love this book for its artistry and boldness and straightforward knowledge instead of practical, daily tips that can be found in any magazine. Kevyn shows the face as a canvas that can be molded with shading and a varied palette rather than merely a piece of human flesh with flaws and imperfections. Kevyn Aucoin is a great artist, and I appreciate his work very much.

Review: i recieved this book for christmas and i was totally ecstatic. i found this book to be more informative than my training in make-up artistry. kevyn explained in very simple terms how to create your own look and he also gave me the self-esteam to wear any make-up style with pride.I loved the pictures and the stories of his family and friends. I would find it an honour to meet kevyn, i know that he could teach me more than any instuctor ever has. I also have many mature clients who love looking at the pictures and choosing a look that they want,my younger clients love this book as well. i highly recomend this book to anyone searching for new and fresh ideas. i can only hope that kevyns next book is not far behind.

Summary: Kevyn's book is easy to follow
Review: I found the photos facinating and I enjoyed Kevyn's writing style - very honest! If I'm not mistaken, his beautiful sister Carla is on Alley Mc Beal (Billy's new secretary). If not, the girl sure looks like Carla! After I read about 3 chapters I got a hold of my tweezers and followed his suggestions and made an easy and noticeable improvement. I look forward to reading the other chapters !
