Summary: Perfect for training Makeup Artists!
Review: I have had a passion for years in makeup, and whilst I tried to copy the makeup styles of models in beauty magazines, I could never quite get the "look" right. But now, Kevyn Aucoin has changed all that - I tried his techniques in the book - and they WORK! With the makeup brand I was using and the "Making Faces" book, my models turned out just like the ones in the photos! Not bad for a beginner like me. Watch out world, here I come !!!!

Review: I absolutly love this book! Its got great pictures of gorgeous movie stars and it also has wonderful tips on how to make your makeup look just like thiers! i definetly recomend this book to anyone who is looking for some great tips on how to look beautiful!

Summary: Awesome!!! I loved it!!! SO simple!!
Review: I found this book to be easy to read and understand... It contained easy to understand instructions as well as illustrations... It went over details for evry basic makeup application... Within five minutes of reading, I was able to transform my face wonderfully and simply... I would recommend this book to any woman or teenage girl... It covers everything from the "Marilyn Monroe" look to a simple natural look!!! I gotta Love it!!! Thank you Kevyn!!! :)

Summary: Fantastic book with some concerns
Review: I loved Kevin's book. I really learned a lot about applying makeup so that it is dramatic -- I was brainwashed by the "nude colors" thrown at us by the magazines!I have two reasons why I did not give it five stars-- 1. To truly achieve the smoky eyes look you have to line the rims of your eyes with liner. I did this and walked around work with itchy, red eyes for hours. And it disappeared pretty quickly (the tears of irritation took care of it!) 2. You have to have a great complexion to follow his advice for foundations. Sheer foundation on my face would be a huge mistake. His section on contouring helps, but, tell me honestly, how many people can follow his advice about little or no foundation?

Summary: Thorough and user friendly with coffee table book appeal!
Review: As a former model and the subject of many make-up artist's brushes, I found Kevyn's book a delight to get my hands on. I thought I knew it all (or at least most of it) when it came to makeup application and tricks. Kevyn opened my eyes (and lips, brows and cheekbones) to a potpourri of enhancement tricks of the trade. In my "book" he stands alone in the field of makeup artistry. Although I've never had the pleasure of meeting him, personally, the occasions of which I have seen him, via media and in his book, clearly he exudes a humble and warm persona...two aspects rarely seen in this biz...of fashion. The book is a must have for the masses...that is, anyone who chooses to embellish their look and have some fun. Not to mention...the book is aesthetically pleasing and will do your coffee table proud!

Review: The book amazed me, totally! And what amazed me the most was the "before" and "after" section of the book.I would recomend this book to the people who are clueless about makeup and the people who aren't. I again congratulate Kevyn for the making of the book.

Summary: A beautifully presented book.
Review: My daughter taped Kevyn on the Oprah Winfrey show and we saw his wonderful make up skills. We purchased the book after waiting over one month for it to arrive. It was the most expenxive book I've ever purchased - $59 Australian. However the beautifully presented pages, filled with useful tips and beautiful glossy photos make it a great buy. It is great for just browsing and enjoying, or for reading and following instructions. Kevyn comes across as a wonderfully warm person, keen to share his skills and knowledge with everyone.

Review: This book is an excellent resource for makeup and transformation. If you want to transform your appearance..definetely get this book...you will learn a lot... I read it ten or more times and refer to it often...I learned what my best friend learned in cosmotology school and for a fraction of the cost. I also learned what my cousin learned after going to modeling school and spending more than a $1,000 dollars for a makeup artist to teach her how to apply her makeup....It is a must read for all ages...expecially if you want to look your BEST...at all times....you too can look like a star...
