Review: I have been involved in the Beauty world for a good portion of my life, and I must say that I wish I had this book all along. I honestly think it is the only make-up book that I will ever need. Kevyn is an amazing artist, and his true personality shines through on every page. Wait till you see some of his amazing transformations, and apllication techniques.

Review: I searched and searched for a book to help me learn up-to- date and fresh makeup application techniques and definitely found it in this book. It includes multitudes of illustrations and some fabulous photos.After my first attempt at reproducing one of the looks in the book, which he calls the Natural, I was amazed. My husband even commented that I looked great, and I hadn't even told him I had done anything different! What a wonderful resource for learning to look your best, no matter what style you are looking for. So much fun. Bravo!

Summary: Excellent book! Teaches the correct approach to make-up.
Review: This book really opened my eyes up to the possibility of make-up. I had heard about this book before but thought that Kevyn Aucoin couldn't possibly be able to teach me anything I didn't already know. I thought he would say the usual, 'Blend your foundation,' 'Make sure your lipliner matches your lipstick.' But when I started reading the instructions, I was blown away. I never saw make-up and beauty the way Mr. Aucoin does. As a person w/ blemishes and imperfections, I have shyed away from make-up, fearing the worse, that it will make me look uglier. But Mr. Aucoin enabled me to feel that I CAN be beautiful, despite the scars and blemishes. Some of the looks I especially liked were The Heroine and The Minimalist. Beautiful, simple, and elegant. Whether you are experienced or inexperience in the art of make-up, I suggest that you buy Kevyn Aucoin's Making Faces. It really will make you feel beautiful.

Review: i am a 22 yr old female,and have been following kevyn since '89 (an appearance on liftimes' "attitudes".)this book is very informative and the makeovers' are delish.as a freelance makeup artist myself,i've always looked for perfection (his recreations of the hollywood stars,the makeup is better and more precise than the originals-sorry girls!)i have only two minor complaints: the elimination of many "keys" to a "kevyn" in his descriptions:contour from the eye socket to nostril,false individual lashes (maybe he thought "real" women may get overwhelmed with all that info)and the no real modern looks,beautiful and flawless,yes,sheer,shiny skin with glossy lids,and bitten juicy lips,no.oh well,the book is quite fabu and i think kevyns an absolute genius and a doll.10 STARS FROM ME!thanx.kim cleveland in texas.

Summary: I have read Making Faces 20 X's and still learn new ideas
Review: Kevyn Aucoin is not only a genius when it comes to make up, he's very inspiring. Being a make up artist myself I have gone to classes throughout the country to educated myself. The best class i've found is in his book. I still find myself learning new things every time I read Making Faces. I see something that I didn't see the first time, a new technique or look. I see the covers of magazines and can spot Kevyn's work because it is clean and beautiful like the looks in his book. Every detail is considered. He definately cleans up his looks to perfection. Which takes alot of talent, take it from someone who knows from experience. Make up is easy to apply, anyone can do it. Few can do it perfectly. I continuously educated myself and try to better my style not only because I love make up, but because I know perfection can be achieved with experience.
