Review: I love and respect the art of make-up more than anyone else. I think this book allows an aspiring make-up design artist, like myself, or even just a humble housewife searching for a new face, to play with hundreds of different looks. The large glossy photos of the faces that Aucoin creates allow for any women to try them out on herself. Kevyn Aucoin gives you all the basic materials and techiniques you need to create a look for any time of day, night, month, or year. I respect him emmensely for the artistry he allows us to see in this book. He is an amazing artist.

Summary: Not just a makeup tip recipe book, ITS A GLAMOUR BIBLE!!!
Review: Kevin Acoin's book Making Faces is exquisite! As a makeup artist familiar with Kevin's work, I thought this book was going to be just a book filled with trade secrets and inside tips.Once I opened to the 3rd or 4th page, I realised how wrong I was.Not only did I find information that was useful beyond anything I learned in Beauty school, it was full of probably the most beautiful collection of photographs I have ever seen.It really takes a true genious to transform so many gorgeous women into other gorgeous women who look nothing like them.I really liked how he chose to use traditional movie roles as inspiration for some of the pictures.I think this allows the reader to recreate the role of the inginue or heroine!! There is also a really wonderful lesson on facial bone structure that really helps to understand how contouring and highlighting certain areas is really important to bring out a womans (or in a few cases..a mans)features.I photocopied it and stuck it to my bathroom mirror as a guide for applying eyeshadow. The only thing that I didnt like about the book is that he didn't mention the products used.Some women will find it a little difficult to find liquid eyeshadow and gold fleck dust!! I think had he given the brand names it would be a lot easier to find the products. This book is definitely a must for any makeup artist, cosmetic consumer, and any woman who wants to feel beautiful!

Summary: Kevin outdid himself!
Review: I only have one word for this book. Wow! I have been in tuned to makeup and fashion for I don't know how long, and this book is definately the cream of the crop! Not only were the tips new and interesting to me, but the graphics helped me in creating the perfect looks that I was aiming for. I can honestly say that I thought I knew every trick in the book. I'm willing to admit that I was wrong. This book is so straight forward that it allows anyone and I mean anyone to understand its context. Way to go Kevin! Keep those fab books of yours comin'!-Jacks

Review: I believe that Kevyn has a gift from God! I thank him for sharing it with all of us who want to look beautiful and want to help others to do the same. i want to be a makeup artist someday and i know that this book has really help me take a bigger step in full filling my dreams.i have helped dozens at my university improve their makeup-jobs by using this book. maybe someday i'll have a book on the market that has all the big beauty serets people would die for.

Review: I have been studying fashion magazines for 17 years - since I was 12 years old. I thought I knew everything there was to know about applying makeup. Was I wrong!!! This book opened my eyes to colors and techniques I never even dreamed would work on my face, like eyebrow bleaching. I LOVE this book. It has made me think differently about beauty, and best of all, it has made me feel that my unique characteristics are what make me beautiful! Within three weeks of purchasing this book and using the techniques, five different people asked me if I was a model(!). This book is an absolute must-have for anyone who wants to look her best. Kevyn, I can't wait for your next book!

Review: Kevin Aucoin is a magician, and this book proves that he is Hollywood's biggest make-up talent. He takes basic tips and looks and throws in his own splash of life. He takes recognizable make-up techniques that define the decades of the 20th century and blows his exciting breath into his work. This man throws himself into his work and this shows in this colourful, very informative, hardcover book. Read and see the passion of the man who will own the make-up industry for the next fifty years.

Review: This book was so interesting and full a wonderful pictures it was hard to put down. Therefore, I've kept picking it up ever since. The man is even more spectacular than the book if you even imagine it. Kevyn Aucoin is a genius like no other before or after.
