Rating: Summary: Uplifting Review: What a wonderful uplifting book. Not only by what it says, but the photography keeps one returning back to look at the expressions of each and every picture. Very unique and intriguing. I definitely recommend it! It put a smile on my recently grumpy face. (-:
Rating: Summary: Bye-bye Blue Review: I saw this in the Doctor's waiting room on a really bad day. It was exactly what I needed! What a lift from the pit!
Rating: Summary: Magnificent! Review: This little book is witty, original, and impactfully put together. The juxtaposition of great photographs and a deceptively simple commentary gives rise to a true masterpiece. Our kids loved as much as we did! Can't wait for the next installment!
Rating: Summary: wonderful! Review: this book was just so incredibly uplifting! I've bought it for several friends and I just can't say enough about it! Just a wonderful wonderful book!
Rating: Summary: Bolt from the Blue Review: Amid a plethora of pocket book releases, The Blue Day Book stands a cut above. Its marriage of perfectly selected images and considered, inspirational observations will brighten the bluest soul, over and over again. 5 stars.
Rating: Summary: The best self-help book ever Review: I opened this book and smiled cover-to-cover. Sometimes the simplest message is the best of all. I bought copies for several friends.
Rating: Summary: Feeling down? Review: This is a "feel good" book guaranteed to bring a smile to your face no matter how down you're feeling. I gave this book to my daughter to take to college for when she might be feeling homesick, sad or all alone in her dorm room. She's read it so many times already she probably has it memorized. The animal pictures with their descriptive verse are a humorous & inspiring treat. In my opinion this isn't a children's book..."Mommy what is that pig doing to that sheep?" But it's sure to bring a smile to a more mature audience.
Rating: Summary: wonderful absolutely wonderful! Review: this book is very well illustrated and can brighten anyone's day! It is fun for anyone of any age. It can even be entertaining for children. Its just wonderful.
Rating: Summary: Blue Days Need Positive Power Turnaround Review: When I hit a "blue period" I need to recognize that quickly -- and try to turn my mood around just as quickly. The pictures in Blue Day Book, by careful selection, inspiration, or luck, happen to work well for me. And the text with the photos is fine -- the photos are really the key here. To smile, chuckle, laugh seems to help break the spell of negativity -- to interrupt the downward monentum, have a chance to turn it around. So I recommend this book very highly, for oneself or as a thoughtful gift for someone you care about who is being touched by the Blues. I myself am not an optimist by nature. When the Blues don't seem to want to be shaken off in one try, then I do some journaling and reading at more depth. My current favorite for working on improving my mental attitude is The Positive Power of Negative Thinking by Dr. Norem. But sometimes a few minutes in the morning is really all it takes to stop that downward momentum -- which is why, in my blue periods, I keep the Blue Day Book on my bedside table. Maybe it should be called "photo therapy" -- this book is a good blues buster.
Rating: Summary: A book that will make anyone smile Review: The sample pages don't do this wonderful book justice! The photos as captions are funny (some of them hysterical) and touching. I have not run into anyone who does not laugh out loud and say "aww" at these amazing photos, each with relevant captions, about being a little blue, cheering up, and feeling good again about life! I recommend this book highly - for oneself and also as a gift!
