I could not put it down. And this is after months of being signed up for the flylady reminders (at flylady.net). This book is beyond motivating. I read time management and organization books for sport. It is a favorite topic of mine. This has been the best book so far primarily because it is VERY SIMPLE. Simple steps and theories for successfully getting things done. The reminders and phrases such as "jump in where you are" - "hot spot fire prevention" and "baby steps" are very easy to remember. I am forcing all of my girlfriends into the program and we talk to each other throughout the day in "flylady lingo" -we are "Payroll SHE's" having a great time with this book!

At first glance, this may seem like too much, but you have to remember take BABY STEPS! You can't do the whole system at once on the first day. But with consistent effort, soon you'll be amazed at how easy it is! It is for everyone--woman, man, SAHM, working mom, student...Flylady is the first to admit that you need to adapt the routines to fit your lifestyle. But the 2 most important things you need to take from this book are these: Don't jump in with both feet! Take BABY STEPS! And, you can do ANYTHING for 15 minutes at a time! Even if it doesn't all get done in one stretch, at least you have started!

Yes, it isn't about being perfect...but rather getting up and doing something, anything to get started. Working consistantly for 15 mins at a time doesn't seem like much, but you would be surprised at what can be done. Simply starting with the kitchen sink is just a place to start, the kitchen is the center of the home and does set the tone for the rest of the house. I would suggest this book to anyone responsible for the upkeep of a home.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: it works! Review: I am so glad I bought this book and in a few short months have been able to use its methods and advice to get our home into shape and keep it there. My mood and even physical health have improved as a result. And I actually do FEWER chores now, rather than more. Straightforward routines, lists, and examples have helped me get it together. The reader may of course tailor the advice to his or her own needs, but should definitely follow the main points--especially the daily routines and decluttering. Some of the ideas may sound too simple at first but I swear they really work. I am impressed!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Amazed in Missouri Review: This book is awesome! I stumbled across FlyLady's website about a month ago, immediately bought the book, and not only is my house starting to return to normal, my family is even coming around - on their own - and helping! I never would have believed that a shining sink would be the start of order and cleanliness throughout the house, but it has! I had to try it to believe it. My home had gone downhill over the last few years after a series of family problems hit me from every direction and pushed me over the edge. I work full-time and go to school part-time, in addition to running around with my very active preteen. I knew what I had to do, but I was so overwhelmed, I just didn't know where to start. FlyLady told me what to do and when to do it. She motivated me, taught me to see how much I could accomplish in just 15 minutes and energized me. The benefits are even spilling over into my professional life. Others in my office are so impressed, they are also becoming hooked! Getting my home back in order has brought peace to my life, as well. Read the book with an open mind, give it a good chance, and watch all the pieces of your life fall into place.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Step by step guide to take control of your life Review: Marla's book did more than help me declutter my home. Like a good therapist, she helped me analyze and tackle issues in all facets of my life. My debts are paid, my house is clean, I am taking control of the food I eat. I exercise. My shopping is no longer out of control. Seems unbelievable, doesn't it? From reading one little bright pink book I have taken control of my life and have become empowered. First, I cleaned my sink. Yep, something that simple. From there, I made small, steady changes. She explains it all in easy, clear sentences. And because she herself had been where I was, I knew I could change. The big difference between this book and any other "how to clean" book is that the others are mostly written by people who have always been clean and organized and want to teach those who aren't. They have no idea of the weird ways we non-organized, clutterbug-types think. But Marla does. And she takes you by the hand and leads you into the life you never thought you would have: Dinner parties without worrying about what the guests will see. Decorating for Christmas, because there's finally room in the living room for a tree. Taking up the craft projects you always wanted to do but never had the time or space to do them. I could go on and on (like I have already). It's just amazing to me... I have a clean house and I do less housework than I did before reading the book! Marla, if I could have kids, I'd name one after you. You saved my home, my sanity, my marriage- my LIFE!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: I am not a wife Review: Not being a wife I have no fear of becoming a stepford one. LOL. This book has changed my life. Not that Marla Cilley writes astounding discoveries that no one has ever thought of before it is the fact that someone besides your mother is telling you this is how you keep your abode clean. This system does work and it is easy. What more do you want besides maid service? Carol B. from AR.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: A lifestyle, not a way of cleaning! Review: After starting Marla's program via the website last summer, I, along with my whole family, could see the changes in my attitudes, not just my home. I gave myself the book as a present and loved it so much that I've given 6 other copies to friends. And I'm trying to help my children apply the principals to their lives as well. If you are struggling with clutter, perfectionism or just too much to do, this might be just the book for you!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: I love FlyLady! Review: FlyLady is not for everyone, and she says that often. But if you want to understand how the state of your house has to do with your ATTITUDE more than anything else, this is the book for you. No stinking thinking! Just happiness and PEACE. Way to go, FlyLady.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Hardworking Feminist Mom LOVES this book and author Review: We've been 'flying' at work and home for a year now and I would encourage anyone who is buried with too much to do and NO HELP to get on the flylady bandwagon. This is not a book about how to clean your house, although she DOES get you moving in that direction. Marla really is writing about changing our attitudes from resentment (poor me, Pity party) to joy. AND she succeeds! I had really been struggling with running my own business and my household and organizing 3 kids and a husband - and I was getting quite annoyed about a number of things. Marla reminded me of what I have to celebrate - and feminist that I am, I still can roll up my sleeves and clean a toilet with a smile. THIS IS AN ACCOMPLISHMENT!
