Summary: For the born disorganized
Review: If you're reading this review, you're probably born disorganized and been losing ground ever since;) Or perhaps you should be folding laundry, making the kids lunch or figuring out what's going to be on the dinner table tonight, especially since you took that mystery meat out of the freezer.

Well, this is the book for you. Marla Cilley's mantra is "you can do anything for 15 minutes" and doggone it, she's right. This isn't one of those quicky fixes that is so often put out by folks whose ideas of straightening up the living room is fanning the magazines out in a nice display on the coffee table. This is for folks that are ear deep in junk (or deeper) and need to get out from under the load of it.
Her plan is simple and is based loosely on "The Sidetracked Sisters" works. You take 15 minutes to straighten out an area. I know, I know, you're saying "15 minutes! that doesn't even hit on it!" but it's just a beginning. You learn that you don't have to do everything perfect and you don't have to wait until the kids move out or you get that burst of energy you've been hoping for - you just get up and do it.

Sounds simple, right? So why do you need _this_ book? Because if it were that simple, you would have done it already. Because you need somebody who has been there to help walk you out of there.
Because getting rid of the clutter has a ripple effect in your life. Because if you read this far, you know you're searching for the answer for your problem. This isn't an easy fix, but your home didn't get to be a mess in one day and it will take more than one day to declutter...unless you_really_ want to maintain the life you're living.

And you know you don't - so buy it and work the system. You'll probably miss not having mystery meat for dinner, but it's such a small price to pay;)

Summary: You finally have someone on your side. . .
Review: who knows what is like to live under piles of stuff that makes you sad and drags you down. This book is meant to be a companion to the emails. Please-if you read this, also go to the website and sign up for the emails. The flylady is loving, she is encouraging, and her ideas WORK. I have been successful-taking baby steps to declutter my home and organize my life. As a child of someone who was surrounded by clutter and disorganization, I feel flylady has saved me from the same fate. It works if you are willing to take your time, do a piece at a time, and recieve the e-mails.

Summary: Buy this book!
Review: Buy this book! It has changed my messy life! I honestly thought I was hopeless, destined to live my life in a clutter filled home. By following Flylady's method, by starting with Babysteps, my home is now a place I look forward to coming home to! I can even have neighbors over and not worry! Buy this book - it will change your (messy) life!

Summary: Loved this book!
Review: Of the 4 books on organizing I got I would say this is by far the best. It's easy to understand, you can work at your own pace, and you get LOTS of support if you sign up on their website for their email list. My house is clean, and my life more peaceful/relaxed since I read this book and started using it's ideas in my home.

Summary: This system has changed my life!
Review: I had a "neat" house before I met FlyLady. Neat in terms of the fact that I was able to stash all of my stuff in drawers and hide what I knew was there but couldn't do anything about. When we'd have overnight guests, I'd do crisis cleaning through the night and into the morning, making me a wonderful conversationalist for company! She's gotten me off my "franny" and my house, becoming de-cluttered, is now "CHAOS-free."

Through this system I've been able to get more time back for my family and toss the "martyrdom" I'd been portraying ("Oh, poor me, no family around to help, husband doesn't help, kids don't help, wah wah wah" -- Don't laugh, you say it too, maybe not in words, but in your actions!) I'm in control of my home, my housecleaning (home blessing), my family, and my life. Thank you, Marla, for helping me reclaim it all back. I've been singing your praises to anyone who will listen!

Summary: Wonderful system, easy to follow.
Review: The only reason that I don't give this book 5 stars is... you don't really need to buy it, and I feel slighly "taken" for thinking that it would have new information. The whole FlyLady system is easily accessible at her website - www.flylady.net - which has been widely publicized in magazines and on TV talk-shows, so I am not breaking a secret here! I haven't found anything in the book that isn't somewhere on the website (though having it in written, easy-to-find form is nice, I have to admit).

The important thing here, whether you use the book or the web, is that the system is easy to follow - with "baby-steps" and short time committment (15 minutes a day!) - and it WORKS, if you do it. Even if you don't do everything, that organized, focused 15 minutes is enough to make a difference in your home. Cilley spells out clearly what steps to take in what order, so you don't get too overwhelmed and can make housecleaning routine.

Summary: I wish I could give it ten stars
Review: I have gone from CHAOS to FLYlady using this book along with their website. To say my life has been changed for the better is an understatement. This is the only book you will ever need to get your chaotic life on track -- just by using baby steps.

Summary: I highly reccomend this book!
Review: This was an excellent book. It let you know that you are not alone in the quest for the a organized home. It answers the question "where do I begin"

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: I dare you to try it!
Review: The FlyLady Knows what she's talking about! Through her own experience, she has learned what works and what doesn't. The babysteps she walks you through definitely work. Starting with a simple thing like shining your sink, you will end up with a greater self esteem and confidence. You will never be ashamed to have someone just drop in on you again. You might even find yourself wishing some solicitor would knock on your door just so you can show off your clean and decluttered house! When I started, I just couldn't wait for friends to come over so I could show them the difference she made. And all in 15 minutes a day. That's right, 15 minutes! I am happier, hubby is happier, and even the cat is happier. I challenge anyone to read this book and just try not to fall in love with FlyLady after the 1st sink shining!

Summary: FlyLady understands the emotional toll exacted by clutter
Review: Most cleaning books focus on the "stuff" laying around a messy home, and ignore the mental toll it takes. FlyLady KNOWS what it is to feel less worthy, even less human, as a result of being surrounded by clutter. A lot of her ideas are reminiscent of feng shui concepts of negative and positive energy coming from elements in the physical environment, but FlyLady puts it in a no-nonsense, no-whining, practical format of how to actually DO something about the problem! She doesn't tell us to grab a bucket and scrub brush, start in the corner and don't stop till the whole house is clean. Theoretically, that might work, but FlyLady's living in the REAL WORLD. The world where we only have 15 minutes at a time to tackle a cleaning/decluttering task, where people have demanding jobs, sick kids and unhelpful husbands. She makes decluttering available to us real people, and I for one am grateful to her.
